Re: Lisbon Libel Trial McCanns v Amaral
'suspects no more , now they have the police on their side'...sky news.
How come they are allowed to go through thousands off phone records yet they discount the mccanns phone records and emails.

It was on sky news, it also said that the mccanns , If I heard right, will be sitting side by side with SY and that's all they will need in the future.
So clarrie has outstayed his welcome and given the boot now they have
SY?

And guess who the big cheese at SY is?
None other than Bernie Hogan Howe, FUNDRAISER-in-chief FOR the McCanns, selling young kids balloons for £1 a pop, for their personal Private PLC!
Theresa May, Home Secretary, £6 MILLION FUNDER-in-chief FOR the McCanns, appointed him.

Just when mr amarals witnesses are going to be heard.....
So much happening all at once, so much info to assimilate. Surreal.
One must hope that synchronicity
Doesn't signify duplicity ......

Re: Lisbon Libel Trial McCanns v Amaral
I agree. For all we know SY have already gone through the McCann's phone records. We do not know how this investigation is working do we? All we have are the tit bits that come from the news and, I am sure, only selective information is released to the public.tanszi wrote:I think the only side the Police should be on is that of Justice, and who is saying the police are on the side of the McCs....
So what if the McCanns are sitting alongside SY on Crimewatch?
Are we the Judge and Jury for the McCanns?
What I am after is the truth, that's all. Many a programme has been made with families sitting alongside Police, only for the Police to arrest the family members afterwards.
We do not know what SY are up to, how far along the road their investigation reaches, who they have already eliminated and who they are yet to eliminate or investigate further.
We do not know the names of their 41 persons of interest. We do not know if any of the other tapas friends are amongst those names.
As Manuel would say on Faulty Towers, "I know nothink" And nor do we.

Thanks LJC!
Your post has cheered me up!
You're right, we don't know anything and the fact the McC's are on Crimewatch means nothing at all.

Do the maths, people.
38 "persons of interest" plus "3 arguidos" = 41.

I like to think there is enough integrity and intelligence in the police force to get to the truth of this eventually, whatever that might be. Otherwise we might as well all give up hoping for any kind of justice in this country.

Re: Lisbon Libel Trial McCanns v Amaral
This is the bit where I almost feel that I'm losing the will to live. Is it being suggested that the McCanns, by 'dining' just a step away from their holiday apartment, and arranging regular trips back to check on the children, somehow managed to allow a stranger paedophile from a 'paedophile ring' to enter it, and take away a sleeping Madeleine, without waking her up, and go where? with whom? by what means? in what time gap? etc etc etc. MBM was the wrong age for almost all paedophiles. Why would such people risk taking a child from inside an apartment when parents and friends could be dotting back at any time?

Re: Lisbon Libel Trial McCanns v Amaral
Those type of child snatchers don't operate in holiday resorts. It's just ridiculous. Nobody taken in this way before or since. You'd think since they would have tried again since they have appeared to have got away with their crime. But no they haven't.

Re: Lisbon Libel Trial McCanns v Amaral
Paedophile rings also exist to make money. Why would anyone hang onto a child for whom millions was offered as a reward? That's a lot more than any paedo ring would make.comperedna wrote:This is the bit where I almost feel that I'm losing the will to live. Many thanks!
-well rehearsed for Patricia Cameron but she went too far at the end and the juge didn't appreciate when she said that according to Kate, the files and the book are very different. She dryly answered that it's to the court to compare them!:
"TC says she wishes to say something. She states that Kate studied the PJ files and the process and said it was very different from what is in the book.
SO protests and ID even more.
The Judge overrules saying that it falls to the Court to compare the book and the investigation process and she does not need the intervention of the witness to do so."
-P.C also say that it was her husband who found a translation of the book on the internet and gave it to Gerry. Very early apparently but no date given ( what a pity because the first translation was in spring 2009, so many month after the original was published. But they had it translated before or what was in the book was of no interest for them....or?):
"ID – Under what circumstances did you read the book?
TC says Gerry telephoned her asking for help and for her to come and stay with them.
ID – Had Gerry just been made aware of the book? Was it translated?
TC thinks he had a translated version
ID – Do you know who did the translation?
TC answers her husband found it on the internet."
-And we also know that 17000 British citizen asked the social services to investigate them for having neglegted their chidren and that has no relation with the book. ( january 2008)
"SO – You said the book had a big effect on the McCanns. Have you knowledge of a Petition containing some 17,000 signatures which originated in the UK in January 2008, which demanded that Social Services investigate the family about the children being left alone?
ID tries to protest against this question, but the Judge overrules.
TC says she heard about it.
SO – How did the McCanns react to that? In what state were they?
TC says they were unhappy.
SO – Do you know that 70% of the UK people, in August 2007, protested against the fact the McCanns had left their children alone?
TC answers "no".
- And a strange question of ID that could suggest that the parentsinvented the story:
"ID – When did the twins go to school for the first time?
TC – It was in August when they were 5 years old.
ID – Do they read and write easily?
TC answers "yes".
ID – Do they know of the book and its conclusions?
TC says that some pupils mentioned it at school. Last week Amelie told that somebody had spoken about it at school.
ID – Have you heard her say this?
TC says "no"..
Goal!

Re: Lisbon Libel Trial McCanns v Amaral
I'm sure the twins would have gone to school in the August when they were 4 because they would have started in the school year in which they would be 5.frencheuropean wrote:Hello almostgothic, almostgothic wrote:McCann v Gonçalo Amaral libel hearing witness Patricia Cameron

Re: Lisbon Libel Trial McCanns v Amaral
I am surprised they haven't suggested the fact it was raised with a twin at school has nothing to do with the book itself but the lurid UK reporting of the witness evidence presented at the trial.frencheuropean wrote:Hello almostgothic, almostgothic wrote:McCann v Gonçalo Amaral libel hearing witness Patricia Cameron

I don't know if anyone else noticed but, at the end of Trish Cameron's testimony, the judge dismissed her with ;"A senhora pode ir à vida". This is IMO a rather rude way to dismiss someone, especially in a courtroom, and if anyone said that to me I would feel offended.
