Re: Andy Redwood...?
Andy is in the Algarve.
Scotland Yard detectives investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann have held an important meeting with Portuguese counterparts that they hope will lead to a major breakthrough in the case.
Four Met Police officers met with senior members of Portugal’s detective squad, the Policia Judiciaria (PJ), in Faro, to urge them to carrying out inquiries identified by the British investigation known as Operation Grange.
The detectives had arrived in the Algarve on Monday afternoon and held a three-hour meeting, starting at 10am today.

Re: Andy Redwood...?
McCanns were quick to rubbish the syringe thing in case it might be their syringe. Too bad, as a syringe, if left by the burglars, could have been a real boon to this latest news.
Burglars don't usually travel with syringes of knock out drops at the ready but if they were a RING who had WATCHED THE FAMILY for days and TARGETED MM, then maybe.

Here we go again. Imminent arrests, breakthroughs, culprits traced. And all this will end in nothing, nada, niente. What a circus. Of course I might be quite wrong. And we might wake up on Friday and the whole case will be solved. Done and dusted.

Andy getting very photogenic. !
Good to see he's tipped off the paparazzi getting in plenty of photo opportunity. Now i know we are getting our moneys worth.
And great to see they are enjoying their work, nothing sombre on their minds as they look forward to their sardine sandwich's.

Re: Andy Redwood...?
"'Police said in October last year that in the 17 days before she disappeared there was one burglary and one attempted burglary in the block where the McCann family were staying"
Right, we have one burglary and one attempted , on this flimsy supposition that interviewing the 3 Burglers is central to the investigation we have 4 DY Police Officers being paid to go to Portugal at the taxpayers expense, what looks like an encyclopedia of evidence carried by them to persuade the PJ to agree for the one Portugese Citizen to be questioned when they find him .
If this proves fruitless, Cameron and May, if you want to keep your jobs, call off the investigation immediately.!!!!

And then it says the burglaries had "increased fourfold". So they had half a burglary before?

No imminent plans to make any arrests in Madeleine McCann case
Emma Murphy: Europe Correspondent - last updated Wed 29 Jan 2014

As much as people may wish it to lead somewhere, the meeting between British and Portuguese detectives is a routine part of the investigation to establish what happened to Madeleine McCann.
In recent months, with both countries working on their own inquiries they have started to liaise much more over the detail of their work.
This is partly because new teams - without any of the historic antagonism - are now in place, but also due to Portuguese law.
The British can't just get on a flight and start interviewing or arresting suspects. Any police work has to be done by the Portuguese and for that to happen an International Letter of Request must be sent from the UK.

Many such letters have been sent and will be sent as part of Operation Grange, the Metropolitan Police's investigation. The last arrived a few days ago.
This meeting is a chance for officers from both countries to go through the detail.
Speaking to sources in Portugal and also the UK, it seems clear there is no plan to start making arrests imminently, if at all. This will be a long and slow process.
After so many years no one in the McCann family is getting overly optimistic. There have been too many moments which apparently offered far more than this routine meeting.

Their policy remains they will continue their quest to find their daughter and welcome the work of those joining in that search.

Got to 'justify' himself for taking at least £28,000pa worth of 'donations' from the Madeleine 'fund' to end up in his pocket, hasn't he?
40% of his annual 'salary' now paid from the Madeleine 'fund' as a 'retainer'
And this, from a man who says that 'it is dispicable and disgusting for ANYONE to profit from the disappearance of Madeleine'
That would be 'anyone' else EXCEPT him, of course!
