Re: Andy Redwood...?
His appearance on the show can be added to the long list of bizzare list of happenings in this case.
There was no purpose whatsoever. They e-fits were not re-shown, just to jog our memories. Have they found the man ? They made no mention of any of the people they were looking for during the last show - have they all been found ?
I felt sorry for Redwood. He looked uncomfortable and did not want to speak. Obviously he is working under orders and he did well in the circumstances.
Nothing new to report, nothing old to remind us about. Three thousand calls and nothing to say...
Redwood said nothing for a reason, and I hope its a good one. Its a far cry from the older Kate and Gerry, alive or dead, interviews for sure.

Re: Andy Redwood...?
Im sure he is a very nice person trying to do a very difficult job, in what are probably the weirdest circumstances he has ever come across. how do you deal with a boss who was Fundraiser in Chief for the parents of the missing child. is BHH directing the investigation or is he saying look at it let me know what you think or feel and we ll talk about a way forward.

Re: Andy Redwood...?
And presumably he chose not to be in the studio, maybe he felt more comfortable on home territory, though he didnt look it.
Very odd, maybe need to look at that again to see if it was pre recorded or edited, maybe thats why he didn't blink ?

Re: Andy Redwood...?
Maybe Andy should have stood up to them and said I will stand down and you can find someone else to do your dirty work. It would have been the right moral thing to do. Otherwise he is no better than the people that are instructing him.

Yes, simple. He is a police officer...or he is not. And same goes for the mccann balloon man, Hogan-Howe.fuzeta wrote:Maybe Andy should have stood up to them and said I will stand down and you can find someone else to do your dirty work. I'm with Fuzzy and Weiss on this. IF (and it is a BIG if) he's protecting them, then he is every bit as evil.

Re: Andy Redwood...?
I don't think he is protecting them. I think he started with an open mind, maybe with an instruction that there was an abductor, and now having read the files, and found out some details from the PI., has made his own mind about possibilities and is going down those routes. He also has an insight to the McCs which maybe he hadn't had before hence the find out what happened to Madeleine.

Redwood is worse than any of them if he knows the score, but does nothing about it! He is after all a police officer... allegedly.

Re: Andy Redwood...?
The investigation is with the PJ, SY is just reviewing, right?Lioned wrote:I think we should also recognise that it cannot be easy for him.
He is either trying to do a good job and solve the case.
or
He is doing as he is told.
Andy Redwood is probably a very nice chap who may have a wife and children (i have no idea about his family situation). He has a job and needs to earn a wage maybe to pay a mortgage.
If he is telling lies its because he has to, i am not sure we can blame him if he needs to protect his career.
At the moment we really dont know either way but things are certainly moving, you cannot imagine that he has a blank cheque book and endless time.
So he has to come up with some answers fairly soon.Chances are SY will wriggle out of it and pass the buck back to Portugal, thats my current thinking fwiw.
SY would like to have this under themselves or at least their control so they can mutually come up with something that makes everyone look okay.
Kids get stolen. That there is no evidence, no dna or fibers or whatever, could go either way. Either the guy traveled with his sedative shots and a shop vac to clean up all his trail or someone cleaned that flat before cops were called - or the person simply came in the open door, went out the open door, and any dna left in the apt could be from any number of previous tenants.
The real question is why there was none of Madeleine's dna. as far as I am concerned.
No toothbrush? Really? The parents who mull over child friendly topping and slather their kids with sunscreen don't have a toothbrush either at home or on holiday for their 3 year old? No trace of her on the holiday pillow; no trace of her dna on cuddle cat; no trace of her skin cells on the waistband of her holiday shorts, or on her sandals? How strange.

Re: Andy Redwood...?
Does anyone know if this is still the review team leaders.
The senior officer with oversight of the review is Commander Simon Foy. Detective Chief Inspector (DCI) Andy Redwood is the Senior Investigating Officer. DCI Redwood reports to Detective Chief Superintendent Hamish Campbell.

I can't remember reading about this, but it seems as if Campbell may have retired, Lioned.

20 new Maddie suspects help Detective Chief Superintendent Hamish Campbell retire in a blaze of publicity

mccann 20 suspects 20 new Maddie suspects help Detective Chief Superintendent Hamish Campbell retire in a blaze of publicity
MADELEINE McCann: Anorak’s at-a-glance look at the missing child in the news: 20 new suspects with Detective Chief Superintendent Hamish Campbell:
The Front Pages:
Daily Mail (front page): “20 New Suspects”
The Sun (front page): “Brit Cops List 20 Maddie Suspects”
The Star (front page): “Maddie: Cops Hunt New Suspects
Express (front page): “Police Identify Maddie Suspects”
Daily Mirror (front page): She May Be Alive”
Why is Madeleine McCann front-page news? Well, yesterday, Detective Chief Superintendent Hamish Campbell, the retiring Met copper involved in the Maddie Case Review, told us that his team had made progress. He named no names. He made no mention of suspects. The tabloids need an easy summertime story so ‘Our Maddie’ is back on the front pages.
The Daily Mirror’s report pretty much sums up the no-news news.
There’s the usual absence of hard facts:
Kate and Gerry McCann have been given new hope in the hunt for missing daughter Madeleine after police identified a number of suspects who could have taken her.
The linking of Maddie to pretty much any global event:
The release of three women from the House of Horror in Ohio has given police new energy in the hunt for the youngster
The sly dig at the Portuguese for letting the Brits down:
Scotland Yard detectives today handed the names to their Portuguese counterparts and begged them to reopen the investigation into the three-year-old’s abduction.
The unnamed “source”:
But a source close to the family, from Rothley, Leicestershire, added: “Kate and Gerry are encouraged by what Hamish Campbell has said. They have been impressed from day one with how Operation Grange has been progressing and how the Met Police are handling it. They both feel like something is finally being done to solve what happened to their daughter and find her. It was always going to be the case that the review would flag up people that need to be interviewed again, even if it is just to eliminate them. They have never, and will never, give up hope that Madeleine will one day be found alive.”
The dead paedo:
Last November, the Mirror revealed officers were looking again at links between British paedophile Raymond Hewlett and Madeleine’s disappearance.
The Daily Mail focuses on the Portuguese, who shelved the case in 2008. Will they reopen it?
One well-placed source described the deadlock as ‘a Mexican stand-off’.
It’s a chicken-and-egg situation. Significant new evidence can be found if the leads uncovered by the Yard are investigated. There are two major obstacles to a joint investigation: the money to fund it in Portugal and the loss of face they would suffer from having to agree to such an inquiry.’
We’re still blaming the Portuguese.
The story is rooted in the words of DCS Campbell, who retired today as head of the Met’s Homicide and Serious Crime Command. He’s gone out in a blaze of publicity.
Madeleine McCann is missing. And that’s pretty much all we do know.

Yep.
BHH said not so long ago 'HIS team of 'ELITES' is on standby ready to go to Portugal'
http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/latest-news/332327/Madeleine-McCann-probe-in-weeks
(only AFTER his team of elites has helped K&G decorate their crimbo tree with the help of a few Special BRANCH officers)

He can't blink because he has been MK Ultra'd....
In the Dutch CW he stood ramrod straight next to a high desk, when asked a question, it was as if someone'd pressed a button on a talking doll. Delivered a couple of sentences, closed mouth.
Very weird.
