You never know, he might go for it!!!
On second thoughts , he might be that desperate .......
Good marketing ploy there Kiti........Invent a Suspect Limited. Could be a very successful business.

Re: Andy Redwood...?
I didnt realise that SY had asked the Mccanns to do the recon and they refused on grounds that they would be to upset to do it.
And why did THEY ban it from being done in Portugal if they weren't even going to take part .
Who's running the damn show anyway.

kitti when did SY ask the McCs to do a recon, not doubting you, just thought the McCs would do all to assist.

Re: Andy Redwood...?
Tanszi, I think kitti is referring to the Crimewatch recon.
They refused to take part in it and insisted that it would not be done in the original location in Portugal.
It ended up being filmed in Spain, IIRC.

But Kate mccann has been back there numerous times so why couldn't they do it if Gerry McCann has even been in the apt so they should off been forced to do it.

Why is it that when anyone mentions Redwood, the old Danny Kaye ( I think) song " Busy doing nothing " enters my head?

Given Redwood's attitude, he'll probably become a politician when he leaves the Police.jassi wrote:Why is it that when anyone mentions Redwood, the old Danny Kaye ( I think) song " Busy doing nothing " enters my head?

Re: Andy Redwood...?
I always think of the song "Busy Doing Nothing" when I hear that interview where Kate was asked if she wished she'd helped look for her daughter.
She says something about being very busy.......

I am thinking he is a cheat and should hang his head in shame. The mccanns and their friends need to be questioned again.
I wonder if he's done that yet.
If not then how daft is he as an 'Inspector' trying to solve a crime with the main witness's/perpetrators under his blinking nose ?

Their investigation may be deemed 'not in the public interest', meaning too many public figures may be embarrassed by the outcome.

Re: Andy Redwood...?
The more I think about the McCanns the more they fill me with disgust. I still can't get my head round their behaviour after Madeleine went missing. I remember one of the McCanns interviews, where Kate McCann said in a matter of fact voice something like this " Madeleine is still missing and she needs to be found, so when you go on holiday, keep looking for her.
If the interviewer had a backbone they would have asked Mrs McCann, why she was asking others, to do something she and her husband never did.
Redwood, can't fail to know that whichever way Madeleine disappeared, the McCanns are 100% responsible for her disappearance. Yet he has also taken a leaf out of the McCanns book and asked the public to keep looking for Madeleine. Redwood, has even offered a reward of £20k for information regarding Madeleine's disappearance. He can't fail to know that, no one came forward with information, when a reward of around £2m was offered, within 48hrs of Madeleine's disappearance. What a pity the interviewer, didn't remind Redwood that no one came forward with information, when the reward of around £2m was offered.
Tonight I have been watching the documentary about the Walton sextuplets, who were approaching their 30th birthday. I could never have imagined them going on holiday with their 6 girls, discovering one was missing and doing nothing to find her. However while Mr and Mrs Walton, were unique in having sextuplets, they are not unique in raising their girls with love and care. Most parents behave in the same way as Mr and Mrs Walton.
I admire Mr and Mrs Walton, because Mr Walton returned to work, as soon as his daughters started school and Mrs Walton, began to raise money for the hospital that took care of her, when she was pregnant, then during and after the birth of her daughters. She is still raising money for the hospital, along with other likeminded people.

"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

Re: Andy Redwood...?
I’m sure Andy redwood is too thick skinned to care what we say on this forum. However, I would like to point out that the fact Madeleine is missing is not the fault of Andy redwood. He gets well and truly slated as if it were something to do with him?
I doubt there is a copper in the world, even Mr Amaral, who can solve this conundrum. We will never know how close or far away Mr Amaral got, but its no good us keeping on going over what’s happened in the past. What’s done is done and its not the fault of the British Police that Portugal cut Mr Amaral off in his prime.
Andy redwood has a team of detectives and civilian police staff working with him. They are meticulously going through everything with a fine toothcomb.
Very many crimes have been solved many years later from a sliver of information coming to light that, at the time, seemed like something and nothing and was cast aside.
This team at SY have been appointed to do a job. That’s not their fault. Cold cases are looked at all the time throughout the UK. Up and down our nation there are teams who specialise in cold unsolved cases and the results speak for themselves.
There are many cases that they solve that do not make the news, or only make the regional news for the area they happened in originally. Others make the national news. It just depends.
But these men and women who work in these teams will collate and cross-reference and re-examine every speck of information they can lay their hands on. It’s a very laborious job. It goes on forever. Its masses and masses of reading and re-reading and then re-reading again and it calls for huge concentration to see if anything was missed originally or if there is another avenue to go down. New witnesses often come along.
I know we don’t like the idea of parents of a 10 year old girl not reporting a sex attack on their daughter up until now, but that’s life. It happens. Get over it!
If there is no truth in this, the SY team will eventually decide that this is not evidence that is credible. However, if it turns out that valuable information comes to light, team SY will have a bit more to go on, which can only be good.
Its easy to mock and jeer and ridicule a job that somebody else is doing but ever since I joined this forum all I have ever wanted is the truth and I, for one, am glad that SY have put a team together to try to give us that truth.
The fact that it is still ongoing is good I think as it means they are being thorough.

Re: Andy Redwood...?
LJC I agree with some of your post but not all of it. none of us can know, other than what Redwood says publicly, and he has said a lot of nothing, what he or his team are doing. are they going through it with a toothcomb, why have they stressed the McCs have been cleared publicly of being suspects in the disappearance of their daughter. SY do not know when or how Madeleine disappeared so no one can be cleared until it is known what happened to her. why is there so many media announcements of revelation moments leading up to a Crimewatch programme. Why are there so many announcements of the many suspects, and how close they are to an arrest. I don't believe any of it to be quite honest. if they are working as hard as they want us to think they are with the huge cost involved, what concrete evidence do they have of anything other than that Madeleine is missing.
I agree it is not their fault they have been appointed to undertake this investigation. they are doing im sure what the PJ did, no more no less, in a longer time span and at greater cost, and seemingly every potential action or theory they have is offered up to the public with a drum roll. Their actions also hint at the lengthy Portuguese timescales and difficulties they encounter with the PJ. so whilst I support in principle the thought that SY are undertaking a meticulous review and investigation I don't think this actually is happening. jimo

Re: Andy Redwood...?
Accepting that we have to be careful what we believe in the press we have seen Redwood in person on Crimewatch and Breakfast TV and various news programmes and we have heard from his own lips what he believes.
I have now absolutely no doubt he is complicit in an establishment cover up and i will continue to mock his every ridiculous statement.
I feel sorry for him as he probably has family and has been told to do a job.If you have kids and a mortgage and a career to protect then you have to do as you are told, most likely he is sick of the sight of the mccanns.
It is beyond any kind of imagination, for me at least, that he is going through all the information 'meticulously'.
He has an agenda to change the facts and cleanse the mccanns and any old and preferably dead bad man will do.
Those responsible are under his nose and how daft will SY look if they turn on the mccanns now,7 years on ! Not going to happen unfortunately.
SY/MET have a tragic history of failure and corruption and we are just seeing another episode.
