Fair enough.
He was an adult and she's a little girl, but point taken that the missing deserve more help than they are getting.
Why should people contribute to a search for a person whose parents hide pertinent information lest it prove a distraction somehow.

This is a child who touched my heart. I would never have heard of him if I hadn't seen someone wearing a t-shirt that said 'missing', with a photo of Andrew on it. I remembered his name, and looked up the case on-line. I know next to nothing about the situation, because Andrew's family and friends seem to have been fighting to find out what happened largely on their own. Andrew's face stays with me. He reminds me of another child at that age. I hope that his family get the answers they need, despite having no-one throwing money at the case.

I signed it. people shouldn't have to beg for assistance. the McCs didn't, they were sent Ambassadors, media people, UK police from their hometown and the generous public gave donations.

Poor old Winnie Johnston went to her grave, not knowing where her boy was buried, she didn't get one penny spent on her. In fact that poor woman used to go up on the moors herself, with a shovel, and physically search and dig, with no government or police assistance whatsoever. How much would it have actually cost to make a search for Keith's body and at least give the poor woman some peace? She didn't deserve the shabby way she was treated and it still makes me really, really angry to think of it, even though she's no longer with us.

McCann monitors take note. This is the true meaning of leaving no stone unturned. They would have garnered huge public sympathy if they'd actually gone out and looked.Iris wrote:Poor old Winnie Johnston went to her grave, not knowing where her boy was buried, she didn't get one penny spent on her. Well yes, this would be most people's definition of "search." However, for the McCanns "search" is more equated with money and defense lawyers than actually physically searching.dazedandconfused wrote:McCann monitors take note.
