Stick a blonde highlighted wig on it and some earrings and it's a dead ringer!

Police believe the thieves, including at least one Portuguese man, had already carried out one raid in the resort of Praia da Luz, disturbing a child.
Again, so what? I'd be very surprised to learn of ANY holiday resort that didn't have resident scroats.
That child’s parents, who had been drinking outside the property, rushed inside to find the intruders had fled.
Don't even get me started.
During their bungled investigation Portuguese police attached no significance to the break-in, which came a few days before Madeleine disappeared.
Who said it was "bungled"? Certainly not Bernard Hogan Howe. He has already said that the PJ did a good job.
British detectives said this oversight was a ‘disgrace’.
See above.
===============
So let's see; at a resort, and all of those have little burglaries - how many lose their phone or digital camera in the restaurant or pool area, or leave it lying about and don't come home with it? - tons, I've lost a laptop that way, a room left unlocked so we could nip in and out of the pool without the keys - and a NEW camera that was bought that same DAY left on the back of the booth and five minutes later it was gone and no one had seen it nor had it turned in of course - - and in this particular area, there have been known burglaries. So do you post a cop outside each holiday makers door?
So, the resort itself is familiar with this situation of fool tourists leaving kids alone and what with burglars in the area doing petty thefts, TELLS THE TOURISTS THAT IT IS NOT SAFE TO LEAVE KIDS ALONE AT HOME AT NIGHT but parents know best! They know best how to bollix around, waving their child safety monitors so that all and sundry know they are leaving kids unattended, they know how to shoot their mouths off to everyone they speak with about how superior their child checking way is, they know best to wave off good advice from the resort itself, they know best to leave doors unlocked for the quickie check despite said warnings, because perhaps if a burglary should commence - or a fire - madeleine can run to the bar. As children of responsible parents everywhere are meant to do.
And the disgrace is with the police -? for not attempting to get all phone records from everyone in PDL-? - when parents won't offer their own up. Because the police should waste their own tax payers' money rather than imply that McCanns have some responsibility here to tell the truth and provide answers.

Norwegians sought in British Madeleine case
British police wants to get in touch with two named Norwegians in the hopes of coming even closer to a conclusion in the disappearance of Madeleine in 2007.
Scotland Yard has contacted Norwegian police authorities and asked them to help solve the case of Madeline McCann, who disappeared from her family's holiday apartment in Praia da Luz in Portugal on May 3, 2007.
Police have received concrete tips about who the suspect may be, after BBC talked about and reconstructed the series of events in the Madeleine-case as part of a Crimewatch episode. British police have also stepped up the intensity of the investigation, and asked authorities in 31 countries for help, Norway being one of them.
"I can confirm that Norwegian police have been contacted and asked to help the investigation of the Madeleine-case. That's all I can say," explains Head of Communication in Kripos, Anne Sandal.
Richard Jones in the Metropolitan Police tells NRK that although investigators have specific names of the people they want to get in touch with; none of them have status as suspects in Madeleine's disappearance.
"We want to speak to all people who have used a phone while in this specific area, close to the time of Madeleine's disappearance.

Hi Kitti
Well SY are becoming the laughing stock of the Worlds Police:-
Richard Jones in the Metropolitan Police tells NRK that although investigators have specific names of the people they want to get in touch with; none of them have status as suspects in Madeleine's disappearance.
"We want to speak to all people who have used a phone while in this specific area, close to the time of Madeleine's disappearance."
It's taken over 2 years with 37 Policemen and 5 Clerical Staff to come up with this rubbish !!!! They have evn got the nerve to ask other Countries for help.

No wonder the McCanns are pleased with SY's progress; Op Grange appear to be every bit as obtuse as the two detectives hired by the McCanns themselves. Yep, I imagine the infamous pair are pleased as punch!

Re: Police identify three prime suspects - Daily Mail
Norway is one of the very few countries on this planet that's never previously had any links with Madeleine's disappearance.
Madeleine, from being seen boarding an Australian millionairess' yacht to sightings in Brazil, in Belgium, on a French motorway, travelling with a Greek romany family, snatched by a wheel chair bound British Paedophile riddled with cancer living in Germany, has now been connected to Norwegians perhaps burglars who could have been operating in Portugal stealing telephones, cameras and presumably children.
Even a second rate TV soap couldn't compete with this laughable story line.
The less laughable part is Madeleine remains absent from the family group, her mother still hasn't answered the questions put by the Potuguese officers and the silly cover up stories are still being told.

Malena, I suspect this case will be in the history books since it is known World Wide......no doubt the Eskimos, Aborigines, Zulus, will be the next target .

Re: Police identify three prime suspects - Daily Mail
Norway is a shockingly expensive place to live (I lived there for 2 1/2 years) because everything is taxed so heavily. The Norwegian tax system is also very complicated with all sorts of weird charges and allowances. However, Norwegian benefits and public services are excellent and more than compensate for being charged through the nose for everything that you buy.
Norwegians are very careful with their money. There are very slim pickings for scammers there. And their Police service won't throw millions of kroner at a circus.

Re: Police identify three prime suspects - Daily Mail
It doesn't sound like these people are suspects at all, rather, that they were in the area. It has nothing to do with the phone calls per se; I think it's just a way they have of tracking who was in that area. Many were in the area and not on their phones I'd imagine.
So they contact these people and ask if they saw anything, I guess.

Re: Police identify three prime suspects - Daily Mail
I don't think this will lead anywhere - apart from anything else, its far to long after the event to get reliable witness statements from casual observers.
The whole of this phone tracking business is just a technological exercise they are conducting to try and show that they are making an effort to find the culprit. Not everyone is as mobile phone-obsessed as we British seem to be and I'm sure there were many people in PDL at that time without a mobile phone.

Re: Police identify three prime suspects - Daily Mail
And after they've finished tracing where all of Norway spent their 2007 holiday by their mobile phone records.... which nationality will they need to bend over a table next?
The whole Fred Karno's exercise is a childish demonstration that they are spending £10 million of public money doing something, even if it is just extracting the urine and treating the public as idiots.
