WTF is going on in UK. some-nobody mccanns snip their fingers and Blairs, Browns and Camerons come running to kiss their feets. I don't get it. This will cost UK taxpayers billions.

I assume this will be all over the papers tomorrow - more Portuguese bashing - totally ignoring the dog evidence, the unanswered 48 questions, the refusal to take polygraph test, etc. etc. Let's hope there are many readers' comments questioning the whole "investigation", not to mention the cost to taxpayers.

Well Dave, you've certainly shown yourself to be an extremely poor judge of character when employing the likes of:
Andy Coulson.
Liam Fox.
Mark Harper.
Chris Huhne.
David Laws.
Andrew Mitchell.
Do you not think you might be doing the same when associating your administration with the self confessed child neglecters McCann?

Will all the Portuguese Oligarchs have their accounts frozen if the Portuguese police don't toe the line. That'll teach them.

If this is true, all I can think of is, the McCanns, along with Blair, Brown, Cameron and everyone else who rushed to their side, when they accidently or purposely, caused Madeleine to disappear, are all part of a seedy group that must never be brought to the public attention.
Along with the McCanns, none of these people have ever organised a search or put one foot in front of the other, to find Madeleine. It's as if they all knew that Madeleine was never going to be found, dead or alive.
Redwood and his team are no different, all they're doing is squandering taxpayers money, looking for ways of exonerating the McCanns and finding patsies to take the blame for the McCanns crime.

Re: David Cameron vows to speak to Portuguese government if British cops are hampered with their Madeleine McCann inquiry
i find it very strange that again a uk prime minister would want to get involved in the activities of any countries police force. Dr. Goncalso Amaral referred to political intervention, so Cameron is vowing to interfere politically in another countries policing. well if I were Portugal's Prime Minister I would just say Steven Lawrence and tell Cameron to get his own in order before looking at anyone else.

I think Mr Cameron is in need of some Geography and Politics lessons. Last time I checked Portugal was a sovereign country but I've been a bit busy lately so I might have missed something....

I think Portugal still is Claudia. It's the UK, under the auspicious and questionable guidance of Blair, Brown and latterly Cameron who are so far up Merkel's posterior which is selling out its sovereignty.Claudia79 wrote:I think Mr Cameron is in need of some Geography and Politics lessons. sounds a bit of a non story insofar as due process seems to be the issue. a bit like hanging on the phone to the gas company here in the U.K.. frustrating at times but there ya go.

Re: David Cameron vows to speak to Portuguese government if British cops are hampered with their Madeleine McCann inquiry
In my opinion, instead of Cameron going over to Portugal, accusing them of hampering Scotland Yard, he should apologise to the PJ, for the British Government's intervention of the case, back in 2007. If the PJ had been allowed to investigate this case, without intervention of the British Government, they would have brought perpetrators of Madeleine's disappearance along with the ones who aided and abetted them to justice.
The perpetrators were the McCanns, because if the McCanns were speaking the truth and it's highly unlikely that they were, they left Madeleine and maybe the twins, in their unlocked apartment, while they were wining and dining with their mates. If Madeleine wasn't abducted and it's highly likely that this is the case, due to the McCanns never searching for her, trampling all over the crime scene with their mates, lying and refusing to answer questions, which hindered the case, then Madeleine was harmed by one or both of the McCanns or someone known to the McCanns with the McCanns blessing.
For whatever reason, Madeleine was not a well loved child by the McCanns or members of their family. We know by Kate McCann's admission, that she and her husband never searched for Madeleine, when she was supposedly discovered missing, by her mother. If that wasn't bad enough none of her family searched for her. The final insult to Madeleine, was when a fund was set up in her name by the McCanns and their family. This money was supposed to be used to look for Madeleine, but as we know this never happened. The only one who hasn't benefited from this fund is Madeleine, the McCanns, their family, Clarence Mitchell and the McCanns dodgy detectives have all been paid handsomely out of the fund, whilst doing nothing physical to find her.
I would like David Cameron, to close the UK investigation, because it plainly obvious that Redwood is looking for a scapegoat for Madeleine's disappearance. He has had access to all the files for 4yrs and he has made it clear, that the McCanns and their mates, are not persons of interest to he and his team. I don't care if a higher authority is telling him not to investigate the McCanns and their mates, the point is, if he was a decent police officer, he would refuse to bow to their wishes and do what is right by Madeleine. The fact that he isn't, shows that he doesn't give a flying fig, for the predicament that Madeleine was put in, by her parents. A predicament that more than likely cost her, her life.
Redwood is a spineless individual, if he had an ounce of humanity, he would be sickened when he read the information below.
http://www.mccannpjfiles.co.uk/PJ/TAVARES_ALMEIDA.htm
If Mr Almeida was telling lies, the McCanns would have sued him. The fact that they have remained silent, speaks volumes. I just hope that if and when the lawsuit resumes, the Judge is made aware, that the McCanns are suing Goncalo Amaral, for stating in his book, whatever was stated in the PJ files, including Mr Almeida's report, yet they're not suing Mr Almeida.
If I had my way, I would like the original team of PJ investigators, to reopen the case and take up where they left off. I would like them to be funded by the UK taxpayers and I would like the British Government, to keep their noses out of the investigation. I would like the McCanns and their mates, to be hauled over to Portugal and to remain there, until the investigation reached it's conclusion. Which would be charges brought against the McCanns and charges brought against their mates, if it can be proved that they lied from day one.
However I don't think this will ever happen, for reasons I have stated in my previous post. The McCanns, the members of the British Government who intervened with the case and anyone else, who leapt to the McCanns side back in 2007, all 'pee in the same pot.'
Poor Madeleine, the only ones who sought true justice for her in 2007, was Goncalo Amaral and his team of investigators.

What a well written, from the heart, post Kathy.
It sums up exactly what we all feel.
The amount off people making money from a dead child is sickening.
Strangers feel more for Madeleine than her own family

Re: David Cameron vows to speak to Portuguese government if British cops are hampered with their Madeleine McCann inquiry
Thanks Kitti and WJK. xx
None of us knew Madeleine, but we care deeply what happened to her, on that fateful night. We've expressed how much we care for her, in our posts, ever since the news broke of her disappearance, almost 7yrs ago.
If Madeleine was around now, she would be almost 11yrs of age and she would soon be going to 'big school'.
Instead, she is in a place, known only to her parents and anyone who took her from their apartment, with their blessing. If Madeleine was genuinely missing, she wasn't worthy of a search by her parents and her wider family. All she was worthy of was having her name on a fund, that she was never going to benefit from.
I hope that when their lives come to an end, those who mistreated Madeleine during her short life, took part in events that lead to Madeleine's disappearance, didn't search for Madeleine and have supported the McCanns, rot in hell.

Well, economically speaking Frau Merkel 'owns' us too but as far as I know she still hasn't been audacious enough to interfere with our legal system...

If you look back to the original Mirror article, the information comes from the Prime Minister's official spokesman, so Cameron can truthfully deny that he said it - rather like the McCanns and their spokesperson. Clearly Cameron wasn't a PR man for nothing.

using cameron's name lends credibility to the article but unfortunately his eagerness to involve himself in matters way way below his pay scale does leave him wide open to things like this.

Usually when a Prime Minister's "official spokesman" speaks, the public will think he is in fact speaking "for" the Prime Minister and speaking "fact". These guys are clowns - talk about the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing or, in this case, saying.
