I'm sure he's older than that; inevitably in every missing person case, one's thoughts go to someone known to the victim.

Exactly - as has been proven many many times, it's often someone in the family or close to the family. I genuinely wondered how old her dad is. I suspect he is a lot older.

Had a woman been arrested, I'd have been checking her mother's age too!

I agree with you both.
By the way her mother is 70.

Re: Off Topic - Claudia Lawrence
What about a neighbour, brother, friend, priest, why was the question asked just about the father ?
where is the evidence that the murder of a female is usually at the hands of the father ?

Re: Off Topic - Claudia Lawrence
Well Im quite shocked it's an older man.
I always had an idea that perhaps she may off been involved with a married man and it got too much for him.

did we get out of bed the wrong side today?
I asked about the father because I have seen him many times on TV and he was the first person who sprang to mind....he's been very vocal on the whole subject, and that always rings some alarm bells with me.....there have been many many cases where the person 'eager to speak to the press', was involved in the disappearance...think Ian Huntley, think Philpott, just off the top of my head. Not unreasonable to ask how old her dad was.

I agree that it's less likely to be a parent who's responsible when the murdered child is an adult.

Maybe it was a married man....he's 59 now, so 5 years ago he would have been 54...she was 35 I think? So not unheard of to have an age gap like that.

I always thought the likeliest person would be somebody she was seeing. It wasn't likely to be a random act by a stranger in my opinion.

Re: Off Topic - Claudia Lawrence
She will remain there 'child' till the day they die.
Also, since 1980 71 fathers have killed their children and it's going up at an alarming rate.
