Yes, that sounds right. Iran is mostly Shi'ite while ISIL are sunni Muslims. The last thing Iran needs is to have a strong and militant Sunni sect on their very doorstep. They need that like they need a hole in the head. I would have thought the Balkans would have been a better starting place. Easier with a lot of Muslim supporters.

That is certainly good news as far as it goes. What happens though when the present "army" become disillusioned and return to their respective homelands? Many will have fighting experience they didn't have when they left. others will be inspired by the idea of a Caliphate

That ISIS have failed will of course be seen a the fault of the infidel west. The danger being that this in turn will translate into the plotting of acts of terror. How successful will depend on the local security forces.

One thing for certain is that the fall of ISIS doesn't mean the end of terror. That will go on for some years yet. Then again, will it at last mean a little stability in Iraq, it certainly will not mean any such thing in Syria. Probably not in Iraq either.

There is another possibility You yourself have reported pockets of ISIS going into The Lebanon and even Turkey. Obviously to destabilise and maybe start up in these countries built on the model they have. Unlikely perhaps, but a possibility. Who knows what mad schemes go on in their minds?

The fact that if they managed to get another outbreak of this dreadful disease going, it would kill Muslims as well as we infidels weighs nothing with them. They would simply declare them martyrs while we are o=going to the other extreme.

If the Caliph did die from Ebola they would simply declare him a martyr. It isn't actually the job holder that is important, there are many more to take his place. It's the history behind the formation of a Caliphate ruled by a Caliph of course with the dream of uniting world wide Islam.Of course they can never do that. precisely because of that history.
