Pt Judge refuses to let arguido's car be searched!
The Judicial Police Faro has already completed the interrogation the four men accused in the English court case about the disappearance of Madeline McCann and are now inquiring 11 witnesses, told Lusa source connected to the process.
The source explained to Lusa today that PJ is performing steps of a letter rogatory issued by the British authorities, which was a request that the Portuguese police interrogate four accused and 11 witnesses, under the English proceedings on the disappearance in 2007 of British child Madeleine McCann.
The same source explained that the elements of the Scotland Yard, accompanying interrogation, sniffer dogs brought to Portugal to be used in home visits, particularly in the car of one of the suspects, but that diligence has been refused by a judge for "lack foundation. "

Its odd though that the permission was given to interrogate the 'suspect' ! So whats the point in that if other avenues of enquiry are not allowed.Letting a dog sniff your car isnt particularly invasive. Not like going into your bank accounts or digging up your drive.
Whole process makes no sense at all.

refused by a judge for lack foundation.
Seems that the 'suspect' was questioned and that the result of the questioning was insufficient to justify subjecting his car to sniffer dog attention. Anyone want to live in a country where the police are allowed to search peoples' property without sufficient grounds? No, me neither.

Re: Pt Judge refuses to let arguido's car be searched!
I bet there's not that many people that have the same car after seven years...
I'd be scared that they planted something in my car the way things are going.
Out off curiosity, why didn't the pj go to the creche and find something off Madeleines that she did that 5 days she was there, a painting or something and take DNA from it?
Also, why didn't they take DNA from the wristband that she wore, surely Kate McCann didn't throw that away, I wouldn't.

Agreed! And these alleged "suspects" would have had the same rights as Kate McCann to refuse to answer any and all questions put to them. The only real suspects are still the McCanns.

I agree, but do we know that permission was denied following the results of this interview.I was just thinking about how long the paperwork takes ?

No idea Lioned. Good point about the length of time for the paperwork though... So, looks like SY took the very expensive sniffer dogs on the off chance that they would be allowed to sniff around the suspects' cars (all of which as Kitti pointed out, would have to be older than seven years) or even worse, already knowing that they would not be allowed to use them for that purpose. Do I believe that? Does anyone? Perhaps they're busy corroborating the findings of the first lot of 'unreliable' pooches - well one can only hope ...

Re: Pt Judge refuses to let arguido's car be searched!
what is it about the UK people that think they can just turn up and assume they can do things. G McC did it as the damages trial and SY have brought dogs without knowing they can be used.

Maddie Case: Car of Malinka's family member searched by two sniffer dogs
by Marisa Rodrigues
The car of a family member of Sergey Malinka, one of the arguidos in the English police investigation, was inspected yesterday by sniffer dogs. The inspection took place at the Judiciary Police premises in Portimão, and it was done to verify if the car had been used to carry the body of Madeleine McCann. JN knows that nothing relevant was found. The owner is one of the 11 witnesses indicated by Scotland Yard and has already given statements at the Judiciary Police headquarters in Faro, yesterday.
The Audi that Sergey, of Russian descent and now naturalized as Portuguese, drove in 2007 was set on fire, at a time when he was being investigated. At the site of the arson the word “Fala” [Speak] was written. This is one of the arguments used by Scotland Yard to constitute him as an arguido.
The proceedings were practically concluded at the end of day, with some elements of the British delegation returning ahead of schedule to the UK.
On Tuesday four men were constituted as arguidos. JN found out that one of the man that has agreed to answer to the more than 200 questions was José Carlos da Silva, the former Ocean Club driver, who was recently diagnosed with a brain tumour. He didn't follow his doctor and his lawyer advice and decided to speak up to refute the accusations.
He is a suspect in the English investigation, along with the other arguidos - a 51 year old man and a young man who was at the time 16 years old, who looked like a “beggar” spotted near the Ocean Club - of having planned to burglarize the apartment where the McCanns were staying. Maddie would have surprised them and be killed for that same reason.

Re: Pt Judge refuses to let arguido's car be searched!
So, four people plan to rob apartment 5A. There must have been a lot of loot there to make it worthwhile for 4 people to share.

not good for SY. I did leave a comment pointimg out that Martin Grimes had taken two dogs, Eddie and Keela, one a cadaver dog, the other a blood dog to Portugal 7 years ago. these dogs gave indications in the McCs hire car and apartment 5a. are SY following this up? it wasn't allowed. lol
Four people robbing apartment 5a. how many other apartments in the vicinity were robbed or broken into that night because surely they weren't going to all the trouble of meeting up, planning it and only doing 1 not knowing whether there was anything worth stealing, which we know there wasn't because Mr G said nothing of value was taken. And I think there is some truth in that, because I don't believe Maddie was abducted.

Mine wasn't allowed. I merely pointed out that 2 dogs had already indicated something 7 years ago.

Well that's that then. Diagnosed with a brain tumour. How long has he got, they have already got their next victim earmarked.

More from Joana Morais on Facebook.
In the case of the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, the questionings to suspects and witnesses did not produce any results. The car of a relative of one of the arguidos was inspected by the sniffer dogs but nothing was found.

Mine wasn't either. With the sniffer dogs in the news AGAIN, how on earth can SY ignore the alerts given by British dogs Eddie and Keela when the investigation was still fresh seven years ago?
