As you say, if true it would be their most significant daily loss thus far. It proves it can be done. I see the Yemeni militia fighting against the Houthis claim to have captured two Iranian military advisors. Of course Tehran denies this. The plan is apparently to hand them over to the Saudis. Seems they won't be happy until the whole area is in flames and then they will start turning their attention seriously outwards.
Now they are threatening Chlorine gas attacks against the UK.

I think we agree that the Kurds are the only consistently effective fighting force, The only problem of course being that they want their own homeland (who doesn't) So far the regimes have resisted this. Depending of course on how all this pans out in the end, it will be difficult if not completely impossible to deny them any longer. That then opens up another can of worms.

Good morning Badboy
Yes, it is looking pretty bleak for Assad and his regime. Having said that, I have to admit to being puzzled by this (what else is new I hear you cry) Russia is supposed to be one of his main allies. On top of which the Russkis themselves are as worried as everyone else regarding people going to the Levant and then coming back with possible murderous intentions. Yet they are doing little or nothing to help him against these murdering thugs. I see the killings have already started elsewhere as well. Palmyra for instance. The choice between converting or being killed is also unislamic they are supposed to be given the choice of dhimmitude, or second class citizenship.
As for Alawite's converting, they are already Muslims, albeit not one of the mainstream sects, and Assad is an Alawite. At least, with all the faults, the regime was tolerant of other faiths. No more. We have had accounts of Christians being crucified, and other barbarous killing. Still, our leaders remain unmoved.

Re: Syria warns West against intervention
SAW PART OF AN ARTICLE TODAY IN Y9AHOO NEWS SAYING THAT ISIS COULD BE ONLY A FEW BATTLES AWAY FROM WINNING TOTAL CONTROL OF SYRIA.
ALSO JORDAN COULD BE NEXT(ISIS WOULD BE RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO ISRAEL IN SUCH A SCENARIO.)
ASSADS REGIME MAY BE RETRENCHING TO MORE EASILY DEFENDED AREAS IN SYRIA.

I only wish I could disagree with you old son but the happenings and events of the last few months say that is very likely to be the case. As you say, Jordan would be next, and that would put them next door to Israel. Mind if they take Syria, that will also include the Golan heights, which would allow them to attack Israel on two fronts. They certainly seem to have the manpower to do that. There seems little doubt that they already boast a strong presence in the Lebanon as well as The West Bank, and the Gaza Strip. Surely the rest of the world cannot then stand by and watch Israel go to the wall or unleash her nuclear arsenal, which would be the only option left. The last thing we need is another Megiddo.
In other respects too it seems the war (we are effectively at war) is creeping steadily closer to Europe, we have had occasional terror attacks , as they get lucky and slip through the net. Some of them such as the twin towers in the US with more dead than some pitched battles of the second world war. I also have no doubt that They are using the frightened and traumatised people fleeing from Libya and Afghanistan as effective smoke screens for their own operatives.
As I say, I wish I could disagree with you but the way things are I think that would be extremely foolish. Not that much can be done when the balloon goes up. Even the moderate Muslims possibly it would be better to say especially the Moderates will be forced to toe the line and accept their brand of Islam. Look at the plight of the Alawites in Syria.

I don't think you would find many to disagree with you there my friend. They are without doubt the only really effective force fighting them at the moment. The regime forces of Baghdad and Damascus seem to be at best very patchy.

Oh yes Badboy you have mentioned it before. I wonder though how much credence can be placed in it. I am not in any way, as you will understand decrying your reportage but the calibre of Regime troops both Iraqi and Syrian appears to be patchy at best. I accept that this strategic withdrawal makes sound military sense but not if they are going to chuck their weapons away as soon as an IS fighter appears. After all they are alleged to have taken Palmyra with about 200 men.

When you think these Kurdish forces are doing what they are doing with limited man power, and even more limited weaponry. You have to wonder how much more successful and effective they would be if they were properly funded, and armed.
The big question mark now I believe is Turkey. There seems little doubt that somewhere in the Turkish Hierarchy IS are being aided. Turkey being the country Cameron was at one time championing for entry into the EU.

On the face of it my friend you are quite correct. It will stretch Kurdish forces supply line however, still running into IS held areas. That is a worry, but then we have seen that the Kurdish forces are also excellent tactical masters. perhaps there is a ray of hope.

Re: Syria warns West against intervention
REGIME FORCES ARE HAEMORRAGING TROOPS,LOTS ARE KILLED OR WOUNDED,BUT LOW NUMBERS OF RECRUITS ARE JOINING.
ISIS IS MOVING ON MALEA AS WELL AS GAINING IN HOMS AREA,IDEALLY A MAP IS NEEDED,UPDATED AT LEAST EVERY WEEK,THE SITUATION CHANGES THAT MUCH.

You're not wrong about the map. The situation is becoming extremely serious, especially with the USA preoccupied with Russia and China at the moment. If IS take over Iraq, and/or Syria, and at the moment it is beginning to look more like when rather than if; we will be in serious trouble. taking each individual event, it doesn't look too bad. So what if they are training 500 children to be suicide bombers. Why should we care that the police in Britain make on average one arrest per day on terrorist related charges? Where is Palmyra anyway? So an oil field is put out of action so what? What difference does it make if the Saudis and Houthis are trading artillery fire across the Yemeni border?
taking a holistic view shows a whole different and frightening picture. That is the real picture, and the real reason for worry. especially when you take into account that IS appeared from nowhere, and other terror groups have already pledged their allegiance.

No sooner are they held in one place they appear in at least two others, with all guns blazing. This time they accomplished their mission with the use of suicide bombers, well well. An interesting tactic. Interesting that is if you forget about the killing and maiming of innocents, and the consequence of refugees fleeing from the slaughter with the added possibility of IS inserting even more suicide bombers among those poor people.
