Syria warns West against intervention
Iris wrote:katertaif wrote:Badboy wrote:ISRAEL HAS EXPRESSED CONCERN ABOUT MILITANTS ON ITS SYRIAN BORDER.
I'm not surprised and I don't blame them. That will be at least two terror groups on the Golan Heights. Whether they can come together or not is another story of course because they fight among themselves as much if not more so than they fight against what they call the enemy. If active hostilities do begin,, the IS and al Nusra brigade will for the first time come up against disciplined and trained troops. Troops who are fighting for the very survival of their country. Losing a battle for Israel is not an option.
Of course Israel is armed with the most modern means of dealing death we have so far managed to devise. I'm not talking about nuclear weapons although they have them as well. That is possibly an example of putting their money where needed rather than wanted and without the corruption that almost inevitably goes elsewhere.
Almost all of those who specialise in the Middle East agree that it is only a matter of time before they attack Israel. Daniel Pipes, the Middle East forum and the Gatestone Institute. I wonder how long it will be after active fighting starts before the so called intelligentsia and the apologists not to mention the UN will blame Israel for it all. Israel is the only country in the Middle East with a democratic form of government. they have demonstrated time after time that they only want peace. they re even now helping to rebuild the Gaza strip. what the hell have they ever done to make people take the attitude towards them that they do? apart from suffer for over 2,000 years without a home and been harried and tormented into the bargain that is.
Most of them are Jews. That is the short answer. I have personally been asked how many Palestinian babies I have killed. I can't even kill a spider in the bath.
sorry to have to read that iris.

Badboy, there will be nothing left of Syria by the time all these groups have finished. I have never been there but apparently Damascus was a beautiful City , now reduced to rubble. I feel very sorry for the Syrians who have had to live with this invasion of their Country .

Good morning again Badboy
I have had one reply up to now from a young gentleman called Mubarak al Maskari. Although now married with two children of his own my wife and I always think of him as little Mubarak I don't know why he wasn't and isn't particularly small. anyway he says that it is totally outside any Islamic rules that he's aware of to force a woman to marry any particular man against her own wishes.
Adds that when he gets home from work he is sure his wife will agree with that.

Hi Badboy, poor old Syria, their Country has been torn apart and a beautiful City like Damascus will never be restored. Obama has decided to take IS on, but I fear the U.S. will lose . The Middle East is in turmoil and the Domino Effect will continue, except maybe in Saudi Arabia which has strong Government .

That should make it a great deal easier for air strikes. It should also allow Syrian forces to meet them on a level playing field.

I have had replies from all of them now. All agree. While it is normal in their culture for the parents to betroth their children at birth, or shortly after. Traditional by all means, but not binding on either the Bride or the Groom. Either or both are perfectly entitled to say no, I'll find my own mate. There is no stigma attached to a child doing this. One of them is now an Imam, he gave up the idea of being an electrical supervisor. he says the same as all the others. I must assume that being an Imam he is shall we say wiser in this field than the average Muslim would be.

Good morning Badboy
One of the greatest of the Kurdish Peshmerga forces problems, perhaps THE greatest is their lack of heavy weapons. However individually brave they may be. That is a problem they just cannot make up. My understanding was that we, a European coalition, and above all the US were to aid them in this by supplying their needs, and possibly "instructors". As per usual, Europe seems hell bent on it's own destruction. Cameron apart from interminable meetings of COBRA, does nothing. - Nothing may be off the table as he says, but there is obviously nothing on it either. These people are fighting in effect for us. If they manage to pacify and control their present area of influence, IS will keep on expanding, until inevitably, we're next. As for the US I am and have always been suspicious of Obama's presidency. Yes we can seems to have become well we might.
I was under the impression that international inspectors were overseeing the destruction of Assad's chemical weapons. Obviously that is not the case. I thought the inspectors announced not so long ago that a significant proportion had already been dealt with.
The fatwa yesterday asking IS to be merciful seemed to me to be a double edged sword, although I assume unintentional. It seems to be acknowledging IS as a state in it's own right. Of course that may be intentional as a kind of reverse psychology.

Badboy, Turkey won't let them do it and is strong enough to put up some resistance. The big problem is that IS has a lot of money, support and ammunition to invade any Country and has no problem recruiting . What or who will stop them remains to be seen.

a low yield nuclear weapon dropped on their base city ar raqqah might help in that regard.

Morning Marky, well maybe it is a good deterrent because the 49 hostages have been released , no mention of a ransom.

these people only respect one language and that's the language of force and it's about time the bleeding heart liberal west realised this.

Freed Islamic State hostages return to Turkey

The Hostages were greeted by the President and Turkey insists it did not pay a ransom . Many of the Hostages have children and are mostly
Government Employees. There is a theory that the release was because Turkey has been the stopping off point for many wanting to become jihadists .
