The Kurds are proving yet again to be the only effective force against the terrorists. As we know, they cannot do it themselves. As for these children, it isn't clear at the moment if there are more people than ever choosing to "defect" or whether the reportage is getting more accurate. Certainly it is worrying either way. Not least in the case of this 17 year old the other day. that seems to be in line with IS deliberately recruiting/kidnapping potential  suicide bombers, rather than use people with battle experience.

One thing that is glaringly obvious is that while 10 years or even a lustrum ago, no one had ever heard of IS, and The Yemen, The Lebanon Afghanistan etc. were just exotic  places on a map. Virtually every news bulletin carries some reportage of terror or terror related activities. Our own security forces are doing an absolutely magnificent job as are our police. It's reported that the police are on average arresting one "suspect" a day.

Certainly cause for celebration old son. The news last night seemed to be saying the Turks are getting a little jittery at Kurdish successes. I can see why, but I would have thought concerted action was more important at this point than petty squabbling over a Kurdish homeland. That will have to be shelved until IS is beaten and that will not be for some time.

On Sunday March 15th this year in Pakistan, two suicide bombers tried to enter two churches; one Catholic and one Anglican. I'm not clear why, but both were stopped from entering and suicided immediately, killing 17 and injuring over 70. The Taliban claimed responsibility and said thy were disappointed, as they had hoped for many more deaths. (What a twisted thing to hope for)

A few days later a Saudi "Scholar" said it was all right to attack and destroy Christian churches, as long as no one spread lies about it being Muslims who carried the acts out. I would have thought that as obviously dim as he must be, he could have seen the tiny flaw in his argument, but apparently not.

That sounds about right Badboy. There is a minority held opinion, among some of the Imams and "scholars" that hates the west and everything in it. The one thing they have no problem with is the benefit system, which most of the west haters are on.

I see that the lawyers for the menfolk are blaming the police now for radicalising them. I'm not at all sure how the police did that, but I feel sure that "compo" will come into it sooner or later.

They won't be cutting fuel to the hospitals serving their own wounded I'm sure.

I have also just read of an account whereby a 9 year old Yazidi girl was gang raped by 10 of these fearless IS fighters. She is now apparently pregnant. To call them animals would be an unforgiveable insult to animals.

Good morning Badboy. it seems that IS are now operating on two fronts, one against the YPG, and one against regime forces. Once again it seems as if the Kurdish forces are by far the more effective. partly I think because the coalition air strikes, seem to be getting better results at the moment. One worrying factor seems to hint that Kurdish forces in Kobane are opening fire indiscriminately, which you would normally accept is the sort of thing the savages of the IS would do and have done. While I accept that someone is opening fire on innocent civilians, It is not something associated with Kurdish forces. It may be the propaganda war is entering a new phase. Anyone can put on a YPG/regime uniform.

Well that at last is one piece of good news although at what cost in human lives (Kurdish and civilian) Kobane has become a sort of propaganda matter for them, so I wouldn't be too surprised if they threw everything at it now. They absolutely are aware by now of the atrocities committed by these IS killers. I'm afraid I no longer place any credence on these perfectly normal, happy extremely popular, and educated beyond their years suddenly becoming radicalised, and sloping of. Yes this is the way they fight wars in the modern era. bombs planted in rubbish bins, suicide bombing, ambush, and plain out and out terror. I listened to Cameron's speech today, but I'm afraid I have no great faith in the measures he proposes. Just read the Qu'ran 3.28. Obviously Cameron hasn't.
