When stupidity and hysteria meet

This is a video from a Portuguese News Channel. This story is easy to tell. A Portuguese actor was on a flight in a French airport (Orly) waiting for the flight to Lisbon to take off. As the flight was delayed for technical reasons, as a Buddhist Heitor Lourenço started reading some meditation sentences with Tibetan letters and the respective Portuguese translation. Other passengers apparently complained. The plane was evacuated and he was detained for six hours accused of being an Islamic terrorist quoting the Quran. He was released when he told the Police to search for his name and videos online and to check he was a Portuguese actor with no connections whatsoever to the Islamic world. Saved by Wiki...

IF THERE CALLED TERRORISM POLICE EVERY TIME SOMEONE READ A RELIGIOUS TEXT,THE TERRORISM POLICE WOULD HAVE THEIR HANDS AND POLICE CELLS FULL ALL DAY LONG.
AT LEAST HE DIDN'T BEGIN ARGUING WITH STAFF.

He had no idea why he was detained. He only realised what it was all about when the Police confronted him with the accusations when he was already inside the Police Station. And it was not even an Islamic text. Of course that if it was, the question is still there: are people not free to read?
