Mini Motorbike Death: Five-Year-Old Boy Named

A five-year-old boy died of head injuries after an accident on a mini motorbike, police have confirmed.




Jake Wilson was seriously hurt when riding the motorcycle in the grounds of a cattle market in Carmarthen, west Wales, on Sunday.

The emergency services were called to the scene but the youngster died later of his injuries in West Wales General Hospital.

Dyfed-Powys Police said there were no suspicious circumstances and described the death as a tragic accident.

A post-mortem examination found Jake died from head injuries, a police spokeswoman said.

The accident happened in a car park at the Livestock Centre next to Carmarthen Showground in Nantyci on the western outskirts of the town.

Managers at the site say the market was closed and locked for Christmas at the time.

"Usually we leave things open," a spokesman said.

"But as it happens over the holiday we decided to lock things up."

Jake's family are being supported by a family liaison officer, the police spokesman added.
