I do not believe for a moment that Mr Amaral would misappropriate funds in
any way. He would certainly not put himself in the position the fraudulent
McCanns are in IMO.
I trust him 100% to do the right thing, he is the only one putting his neck
on the line over this terrible affair.

For the same reason that many others contributed, I would imagine. Althought I disagree with Amaral on practically every level, I believe that court is the place to thrash out the issues surrounding his book It would be unjust for him to be denied his opportunity to appeal the injunction and defend his right to publish his book against libel actions, on financial grounds. Sorry, sans souci, but that really is nonsense. His witnesses made it quite clear that they agreed with his conclusions on the case, thus proving once and for all that GA isn't some sort of lone voice, that others who were involved in the case in various ways were/are of the same opinion.

As for the fund for GA, I'm sure we'll get an update at some stage and since most of us trust Mr Amaral we're happy to wait. If you're not happy I daresay it could be arranged for your money to be refunded if you wish - I'm sure none of us would like to think of you having any sleepless nights over it. I bet Team McCann is now a bit more relieved.
The results could be better, though, if Mr Amaral ripped off kids and pensioners saying he needed the money to feed his children and then used it for legal expenses.

Well, I know that I will be making another donation this month and I hope that others continue to do so. Remembe every little bit helps.

I am sure that the McCanns were so cocky about this case because they believed that Gonçalo Amaral would roll over and settle out of court after his assets were frozen. Too bad for them it did not turn out that way, arrogant bastards!
