Is it me or has this mornings proceedings changed from the book and what it has said to actually WHEN the dvd's etc were given out or sold.

Is Duarte sutterly changing this into a...THE BOOK AND DVD CAME OUT BEFORE THE SECRECY.....its odd.

I agree lea. too much emphasis on when and where etc, duarte is trying to bore everybody into oblivion, someone should tell her its NOT about timing and how many sold its about freedom off speech and how the mccanns can stop the portuguese from having this.

Perhaps by trying to establish how many were sold, they may get an idea of how many people decided to stop searching

If they can find out from the newsagent the names of those who bought the paper with a free DVD, then they could personally sue each individual for believing Sr Amaral and not searching any longer

It's about the DVD today because that is what the last two witnesses were involved in. The decision will be made on the whole case.

i felt it ended abruptly this morning and i wonder why - i have no conclusions.
i am surprised they are there as i was before - it smacks of conquer.
my consolation is amaral is not supine and will continue and in doing so will publicise their behaviour and circumstances over and over again.
portugal is a strong and emotive nation - there will be after effects no doubt, if this finds mccanns favourable.

If it is officially by no means certain what happened to Madeleine, then I for one cannot see why we should be bombarded with the McCanns version of events and no other one allowed. That just simply is not right.

Is GA in Court this morning?

My personal feeling is that the injunction will stand, (dont pelt me with rotten eggs ) GA is Madeleines only hope of justice IMO. If it doesnt go well this time I think it will be all over. I know some posters have expressed the believe that if GA loses other things will happen and retain positivity. I dont share that optimism.

If LP never act further following the outcome, whichever way it goes, then sadly I will assume that this whole thing has been hushed up at the highest level. CEOP certainly seem to think the mccanns are not guilty its all over their website, and thats after the lovely q&a session just the other day in front of the worlds finest!

I think the McCann lawyer is interested in timing because she wants to prove that GA broke the judicial secrecy law.
I too think the injunction will stand, but if the McCanns try to get damages then there will be more details emerging in the libel case.

Even if the injunction stands, the facts of the case are out in the open, although no doubt team McCann will put some spin on the decision and imply that the decision means GA is lying in his book.

Glad there are some freedom of speech protesters outside the court.

I have always thought the injunction would stand at this stage in proceedings. However, then we would move onto the Libel trial proper and there will be a lot more width and depth to the arguements on both sides.

I don't see the injunction being upheld as a loss. To me, it is likely that it WILL be upheld until it can be established if Libel was committed - IF the Mccann's lose the libel trial the injunction against the book would probably have to be lifted.

I foresee a continuation of the temporary injunction is likely. But I repeat, at this stage its not the end of things.

A lot has come out of this hearing - and if the Mccann's proceed further, a lot more information will be forthcoming.
