Sergei Malinka, Car Bombs and F.A.L.A - Frente Anarquica e Libertária do Algarve
Never either fully explained or resolved, the incident stirred
speculation about the Russian's alleged involvement. FALA meaning
'speak', was assumed to be indicative of pressure being placed on
Malinka to either 'shut up' or speak - but F.A.L.A is also the name of
a political pressure group in the Algarve who seek (like Basque and
Andalusian Separatists) independence from central government.
Self-styled anarchists, F.A.L.A. (Frente Anarquica e Libertária do Algarve)
is anti-authoritarian, anti-fascist and (at the risk of grossly
over-simplifying) seeks to liberate the Algarve from the
totalitarian/centralist threat posed by an evcen stronger EU.
Naturally, it is against the establishment of the European Union and
the Lisbon Treaty(who it blames on the Germans). Given that it calls
its members 'comrades' and backs the pro-Labour 'trade union' efforts
of anarchists like Arnaldo Simões Januário, it seems clear that their
sympathies lie on the left (Arnaldo Simões Januário was imprisoned and
died in the Portuguese 'Campo da Morte do' in Tarrafal - during a
period that included deportations to Angola, the Azores and Timor).
There seems to be somekind of link between FALA's favourite
anarchist, Arnaldo Simões Januário and Dublin - but I can't work out
what it is.
Given Gerry's strong family links to Ireland, the
Police and British Intelligence surely have to consider if the McCann
family could have become targets (or indeed agents) of separatist
groups. Let's face it: there has long been a sharing of intelligence
and resources between ETA and the Irish Nationals - as this report from The Guardian makes clear.
Was
the Lisbon Treaty - and not specifically Madeleine - the intended
victim? But how the abduction of a young British National work in it's
favour? Disruption? Creating divides between the countries? Blackmail?
Ransom? Who knows. It's certainly not immediately obvious. Perhaps
crippling the tourist industry was to be the first stage of a
multi-staged agenda intended to fracture realtions with Lisbon.

Yes, indeed you're right. Only the word FALA, I didn't know before: F.A.L.A. (Frente Anarquica e Libertária do Algarve)

Hi Annabel
Thanks for the info from Blackwatch, at least we can rule out Malinka because F.A.L.A. makes sense. That
leaves about 20 suspects left.

Thanks - that's new. Kind of like equivalent to our UKIP?

Oh, please.... spare us from yet another Blackwatch theory!
He's already been trying to stitch up Sofia Amaral.

Thanks Annabel for putting this post up.
It's sad to have to wait for an year to have one's information discussed by a reputed member as Blackwatch. For that I have to thank him.
The F.A.L.A. writing near the burnt car of Malinsky never had any connection with Madeleine - let's recall that that same individual had a car burnt the previous year. That was a mere coincidence.
As an algarvian, and having had several foreign colleagues at school (especially german and dutch) I know about radical mouvements inspired by those radical ideologies so much appreciated by silly youngsters...
I'm happy that, finally, that was erradicated from the case, because it was just causing a diversion.

P.S. And yes, as a teenager I was among, and I knew many youngsters, some of them that got inspired to fight for the independence of the Algarve, that had a lot of sympathy for IRA - I still do on a political level even if I condemn the terrorist side of it.
