Following his split from Katie Holmes it has been widely debated as to whether or not Tom Cruise’s devotion to Scientology was a factor in the break-up.

And as yet more bizarre aspects of the church are unravelled, a different side to the Hollywood heavyweight has come to light.

The latest revelation of Tom’s relationship with Scientology is perhaps the strangest yet.

Supernatural: Tom Cruise is believed to have telekinetic and telepathic powers, according to Scientologists
It has been reported that the church believes the 50-year-old has telekinetic and telepathic powers.

Tom is the most famous follower of the religion and an investigation by Rolling Stone back in 2006 revealed that he had reached an advanced level of Scientology and was known as an ‘Operating Thetan’ or an ‘OT’.

The author of the investigation, Janet Reitman, explained that OTs ‘have total control over themselves and their environment.
‘OTs can allegedly move inanimate objects with their minds, leave their bodies at will and telepathically communicate with, and control the behaviour of, both animals and human beings.’
Deal-breaker: It has been widely debated as to whether or not Scientology was a factor in Tom's split from Katie Holmes

Key player: Tom has reached an advanced level in the religion after 30 years of faithful following
Tom, who is understood to be at the advanced stage of OT VII, has practised the religion for 30 years and therefore has allegedly reached a rarefied state of enlightenment after travelling what is known as the Bridge to Total Freedom.

Reitman reported that OTs advance towards a God-like state.

She explained: ‘At the highest levels, they are allegedly liberated from the physical universe, to the point where they can psychically control what Scientologists call MEST: Matter, Energy, Space and Time.’
Nancy Meny, who worked with celebrities at Scientology's Sea Organization, revealed to Radar Online that Tom was in fact 'kid-gloved' into the religion.
She said: 'I knew some of the people who kid-gloved him into becoming a member. Everything was orchestrated and orientated. Tom has a problem reading so they don’t have him doing the course on his own and paired him up one-on-one.'
Back to work: Tom received a warm welcome on the set of Oblivion in June Lake, California today
Soldiering on: Tom was toting a gun and sported military style attire to film scenes
She added: 'The level of manipulation is unbelievable, it is like the Truman Show.'

Just hours after reaching a divorce settlement yesterday, Tom surfaced in June Lake, California, where he is continuing to shoot his sci-fi film Oblivion.
Today he was warmly greeted by cast and crew, with one brunette embracing him with a hug.

He had travelled in style from his Beverly Hills home to the set, arriving in a million-dollar Silver Screen bus gifted to him by Scientology bosses.

According to a 2005 memo leaked by Marty Rathbun, a former Scientologist who left the church in 2004, Cruise had demanded that the coach had a special drawer fitted in it full of slippers - to ensure that nobody walked on the vehicle with dirty shoes.

Big present: Tom's Silver Screen bus was spotted on set, said to be a gift from Scientology leaders

The memo reads: 'Cruise requested that a space be figured out for placement of slippers in the front of Silver Screen as he doesn’t want shoes on the carpet.
'This is figured out — there is a drawer at the entrance which can be used for this. He also stated that no one will be allowed to enter other than his personal assistants.'

Referring to Scientology leader David Miscavige, who Tom refers to as Chairman of the Board (COB), the memo continues: 'Mr Cruise also said that when Silver Screen arrives he isn’t going to set foot in it unless COB has been in first.'

As well as the Silver Screen bus, Tom is also believed to have received a selection of personalised motorbikes, and an aircraft hanger complete with a luxurious office, from the church.
Truce: Tom and Katie have reportedly reached a settlement and Katie will get sole custody of six-year-old Suri
