Just to let you know, Amanda Knox's stepfather is a member here.
We are all entitled to our opinions of course, and you can freely express them in any way you wish, but I just thought you may want to know.

The parents of Amanda Knox, who is on trial for the murder of British student Meredith Kercher, are being investigated for defamation after they accused police of beating their daughter.

I think I heard some thing on the radio last night about a law-suit being launched , by Meridith's family.

So amanda fox's family think a confession was 'beaten' out off her.


Oh please, if all fails say you were smakced on the head, twice, then if you win the case....WELL WELL...YOU CAN SUE THEM FOR FOR MILLIONS!!

I read a while back about a case where a person who murdered her child claimed a confession was 'beat' out off her....can anyone enlighten me?

Greed comes to mind....bad enough a person gets found 'not guilty' but then this person goes on to make millions out off that 'dead' person.

How dare the parents off amanda knox think some 'kind' words can make up for Meridiths murder but to have it 'shoved' in their face by the parents off the 'murderer'!!

As i said, shes american ...SHE WILL GET OFF and make a PACKET out off it.


Remember this...that same amanda fox tried to frame an innocent bar owner, why do that, ask yourself.

I think she is guilty and also seems a bit of a weird creature.

Yep, I agree with you both, I too think she is guilty.

I am not sure about this, I do believe she may have an illness, I have never witnessed anyone in a Court acting like she has. She is being tried for murder and her laughing and joking just seems odd to me, as if she does not fully comprehend what is happening to her. To be honest if she was totally innocent she would be petrified of being found guilty.

Drugs spring to mind, if you take them long enough, especially cannibis, they warp your mind.

And i will say this once again..if your are innocent you would NOT try to push the blame on a person that had practically nothing to do with meridith apart from serve her a drink in a bar, this man was arrested, in the newspapers and his name was blackened, why did she do this?

The simple answer to that is.....she has good lawyers, she knows it, shes been told she will 'get off' and to be honest if she can do that whilst a 'friend' is lying dead on a slab then she has NO feelings whatsoever.

I would love that smug look knocked off her face.

If if she is found guilty two things could happen...an appeal...the lawyers will find some loophole to free her or....they lawyers will ask for her to do her sentence in america where she will probably either spend a couple off years in prison then come out and sell her story off how she was HARD DONE BY or their will be another appeal etc etc.

Whatever way you look at it...the victim always looses, no matter what.

There is a case here where a man who served just a few years is walking the street amongst us who murdered a mother and chased her son to a nearby park where he proceeded to DISEMBOWEL the boy which killed him off course, slowly, in front off young children and off course....THIS MAN IS CURED OFF HIS ILLNESS THAT MADE HIM MURDER...prison does that...and im off now to have dinner with Elvis Presley!!

Verdict expected at 11p.m.

Guilty, the pair of them , sentenced to around 25 years in prison. !!!

Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito have been found guilty of murdering British student Meredith Kercher.

The American woman was sentenced to 26 years in jail and her Italian ex-boyfriend was given 25 years.

As soon as the judge read the verdict, Knox began weeping.

Meredith, from Coulsdon, Surrey, was found with her throat slit in her room of the house she shared with Knox in Perugia, Italy.

The eight-member jury, which included two judges, agreed with prosecution's case that the former lovers killed Meredith in a drunken sex game in November 2007.
A third person, Rudy Guede, 22, from the Ivory Coast, was earlier convicted of the murder and sexual violence.

He was sentenced to 30 years in jail.

It's not nice to have to say it. But her constant smirking and fooling around reminded me a lot of the McCanns. And then we had the "women cops are being mean to me" reports. I can see a lot of parallels in the two cases. I'm sorry for all sets of parents, though. They have all received life sentences as well.

I have NEVER thought she was innocent, as in other posts.

Just because she has a pretty face doesnt mean she can SMIRK her way round the jurors or the judge.

Justice has, AT LAST....been served.

An innocent person doesnt try to frame someone knowing that this persons name will be TARNISHED FOREVER.

Yes he's still a member here Dogwood, he's the stepfather....I honestly feel pity for the family of both sides but I have to admit I still dont think she is guilty....

They've convicted her on circumstantial evidence and it wasnt beyond a reasonable doubt. I honestly think Rudy Guede acted alone. One thing I havent seen is if Guede ever said Amanda and Rafael where there with him.

He couldn't, could he. He said he was in the bathroom and didn't see it happen. He could hardly admit that they were there.

Personally, I feel desperately sad for all of them.

I was pleased with the verdict. I have never believed Knox was innocent since I read that she continued to shower in a bathroon she'd noticed was blood-stained. I also find it very odd that both Knox's and Sollecito's mobiles were switched off at about the time of Meredith's murder and remained turned off for 3 hours. Amanda Knox also bought cleaning products after the murder, strange for a student who was not noted for her love of housework. She also tried to incriminate an innocent man..The defence may claim the DNA was flawed, but coupled with the evidence we've heard, I'd say justice has been served. R.I.P. Meredith and sincere sympathy to the Kercher family who have suffered in dignified silence.

To be honest I havent been keeping up with the case recently so I dont know if Guede said he was in the bathroom but they said it was a sex fuelled game and seeing as he took the whole rap so if they were all in on it then surely he would have told his lawyer at least?

Chris Mellas couldnt give us all the details before but now that Amanda has been convicted then I suppose he may come back when this all settles and inform us all...

With due respect, I don't think we can consider Chris Mellas, as Amanda's stepfather, to be an unbiased source of information on this case.

Yes I suppose you are right but he has in depth info....not just what we hear from the press....

Not objective info though. Perhaps he'd care to enlighten us as to why Knox and Sollecito lied as to their activities and whereabouts that night, why there was no connection on Sollecito's computer when he said he'd been online at the time of Meredith's murder, why they both chose to turn off their mobiles at the time poor Meredith met her brutal death, why witnesses saw Knox buying cleaning products on the morning after the murder and why Knox chose to take a shower in a blood-stained bathroom and phoned a friend to say she'd noticed blood and was worried about Meredith??
