If the Mccanns were swingers, well so be it, but surely they would have to put the children together in one apartment so they wouldn't be disturbed, so perhaps that is when Madddie had her accident while the childrens were alone. I honestly don't know.
I have said this in the past..... an "expert" on paedophiles would be aware that they sometimes infiltrate the family swinging circuit. It's the perfect place for them, and these child predators are often known to plan their lives years in advance. You simply cannot dismiss a thorough investigation of the parents and friends and their lifestyles, if you are going to revisit this case in any meaningful way!

Corruption in high places springs to mind regarding this case. Its who they know, not what they know! Mcs certainly have friends in high places!!

Isn't Danielle VanDam murder a perfect example of this? The parents swung, and the neighbor took advantage of this to get his hands on their 2nd grader while they were out. It made their child vulnerable and would have made her more so had the parents chosen to lie about this, thus throwing suspicion over themselves as to what was really going on. The mom came clean right away, she was ruled out, the bad guy was found to be as usual someone who knew the child - in fact a neighbor who lured her into his camper - when you have a lifestyle about which you feel you need to lie you put yourself and children into a vulnerable position. I have nothing against swinging per se but what if the swinger takes the same attitude towards sex that many pedophiles do - it is not harming anyone. Loose sexual morals can trickle down with terrible affects on children because of the company you keep who may think that swinging is just one activity beyond the pale, interfering with a child may be another, some sickos actually think they believe that it doesn't harm the child. And yes, because the children of swingers are vulnerable for these reasons it might make a "cover" for a pedo to infiltrate that group. Of course they infiltrate the priesthood and the Boy Scouts also.
The man Boy Love Assoc -- they think that they can do this kind of thing and it's just another victimless crime. Not that swinging is a crime , but if you leave kids unattended while you do it, and if you lie about it, and are ashamed of it so you lie to avoid being caught that can have bad results. People with young kids are responsible for the company they keep, I would not want to live next door to people who swing and have young children. It's kind of creepy, who is going in and out of that house and being around those kids?
I don't think McCanns are swingers though. I can't really imagine having time with two careers and three toddlers. Or the energy.

Re: The News of the World, BBC report on an ex-leader of the Scottish Socialist Party and accusations of perjury, swinging and suppressing documents to save his skin.
But my question here is about the libel case - this guy won a libel case against NOTW and yet what they said about him was true. Is libel about printing a lie or about printing something that harms someone, in the UK? I thought it was about the harm - because we haven't seen any papers print the TRUTH about the McCann case, they either lie on the side of the parents with all these fairy tales about abduction that are fed to them by TM - which is fine - or lie that Gerry isn't Madeleine's father or something. Things that make them look bad, is what gets the paper sued, not the veracity of the information? They got sued for the harm didn't they? This is why I thought they weren't writing about the actual facts of the case - because that could harm McCanns - no one is going to sue them for saying things like McCanns were dining a few yards away and checking regularly, or that they were "cleared". That information doesn't harm anyone apart from maybe the investigators or Madeleine herself in the search for what happened. But saying the parents night after night neglected the kids is harmful to her parents -albeit true - you seem to be not able to print that kind of thing since they got some lawyer somewhere to say they were within the bounds of responsible parenting. "leaking" information about the dogs etc - info that they parents were suspects - I can't recall what the particulars of the legal case was but I know the papers wrote a lot of garbage that wasn't true but the only got sued if it harmed McCanns' reputation?

This is why this case is back in court. he and wifey are charged with perjury in that to win the original settlement against the news of the world they and friends lied about the events.
The news of the world printed the truth at the time as was confirmed by several witnesses, but he and wifey commited perjury by saying it was all untrue and the court believed him.
the problem they had was that the witnesses weren't happy about this neither was the news of the world and they had wrotten evidence ( the minutes) showing that he admitted to swinging which is why the NOTW appealed the case and the cops investigated for perjury.
Perjury can carry a maximum life term in prison.
If found guilty he will do jail time and also have to pay back what he was awarded with possible interest and also he will likely have to also pay back their court costs as well.
It is going to be a very expensive lie

So the papers can print what harms you if it's proven to be true?
Why is it that the UK libel laws are seen to be so much more stringent than other places? I just wonder. If it's a lie that harms you that is libel, if it's truth that harms you, it's not libel?
And this guy perjured himself in order to win a libel case?

Who the hell would want to pick Tommy Sheridan's keys out of the fruit bowl? Or Gerry McCann's, for that matter?

I would hazard that the two are very similiar.

Just googled Sheridan. Don't care about the swinging, but lies, perjury and hypocrisy...that's another matter.

Yes, if they want to go of swinging, dogging.........or whatever, let them get on with it. But like you say why lie and commit perjury, you'll get found out eventually! (most of the time)
