Re: Sky News Report
What does this mean "Police To Dig For Evidence"
Evidence that the 'abductor' (one of the dead ones) was there..or what?

Hi weissnicht, I presume they mean a body. probably Madeleine's , they certainly would not be using all this money to look for yet another Pedophile.

Unless it is the handy 'dead patsy'

Hi Roasted Arizona,
I think it was Oporto who picked up on this failure of the Police to investigate at the time , but they have to work with SY because Britain has the Radar equipment. My guess is they are looking for a body , I mentioned on MM a couple of days ago that late one night a Member of 3a's posted that Madeleine was send and her body hidden in a Pipe underground. He had a foreign sounding name like Guedo , two minutes later the post was removed.
One thought to ponder on, if they do find Madeleine's body, how can they find out who put it there?

That might be a step too far, but forensics might turn up things like cause of death and traces of third parties. Traces of the parents might be expected, but if there were no traces of anyone else -------?

If Brunty is back in Portugal things must really be moving forward. Glad to hear someone is going to "Ask the Dogs"....again!!! The truth cannot be negotiated....no more political interference.

Re: Sky News Report
If her body is found, would there been traces of sedative in the remains? Sorry if it is a daft question. After all this time there would only be a skeleton.

Re: Sky News Report
Now I don't want to be known as the killjoy folks , but this is the very latest Report by Brunt.
These are the areas it is thought will be dug up.
1. A road 200 yds from the Apartments where roadworks were going on at the time
2. Wasteland near Apartment where a man was seen carrying a child.
3. The Beach because there are several caves.
Possibly the Church.
SY will observe and advise , not take place in the actual searches.
It is very warm in PDL and busy so unlikely the search will start during the Tourist Season .

Not necessarily - it would depend upon the ground conditions. Hair is known to survive for long periods, for example and drugs are often taken up by bone tissue. In the event of human remains being found, forensics could prove to be invaluable.

Re: Sky News Report
Sedatives can be found in remains years down the line but what needs to be proved is....how long had she been sedated before she went missing....had she been sedated just that night , week or had she been sedated regularly that is what needs to be found out because the mccanns have re-empted the sedation scenario by saying the 'abductor' had drugged her so we won't hold our breath with that one....the pink blanket is with her...that's a different story.

The identity and nature of any sedative would be important.

which could also mean they have just about exhausted all other possibilities.

Re: Sky News Report
It really must be disappointing for SY if none of their 101 person of interest and thousands of telephone pings have led anywhere. All that effort for zilch.
However, if this dig proves fruitful, all will be forgiven.

This has DEFINITELY got to be the last investigation , if it wasn't for the Parents this investigation would never have taken place. IF the McCanns found Madeleine dead in the apartment and disposed of her body,,,,,,would they have wanted an investigation. ???

It's certainly looking that way. There's no way the Portuguese would allow this if they didn't think it might finally lead somewhere.

Re: Sky News Report
I was listening to brunty on the news and he thinks one of the areas will be a piece of wasteland on the way to the beach following the route of the smith sighting. This I think is the same area Mr amaral wanted searched. Also listened to ex met chief super and he said more would become apparent over the next few days. That any evidence found would be given to the PJ. He said there will some unhappy holiday makers that will not like the disturbance . sounded like things will happen sooner rather than later.

Dangerous game jassi, especially as they had so much going for them, Gerry would have been on a good Salary, Kate could have earned more by working longer hours once the children were in School. They had 3 children they wanted so much that Kate had invitro to conceive , yet proved their negligence by not checking on them often enough , strange eh???

Re: Sky News Report
It sounds hopeful sure enough, but there is quite a lot of skepticism about... along the lines of that the Yard have to justify their continuation with the case (and they have jolly well come to a full stop with all the idiotic 101 'suspects). This digging evidently was given permission for by the Attorney Generals office... it says elsewhere. What is going on? I hope it is NOT 'not a lot'.
