Just as i feared......
Brighton 0-2 Palace
With The Man Utd bound Zaha scoring both goals to set up a Wembley playoff final with Watford worth £100mill.
I think Brighton thought all they had to do was turn up so serves them right really.
More importantly the FA Youth Cup Final at Stamford Bridge.....
Chelsea 2-3 Norwich (Norwich win 4-2 on aggregate)
Well done to the Norwich lads winning the Cup for Delia.

Looks like Arsenal might get that fourth spot now.
Arsene still interested in the Millwall job according to my sources as he likes the idea of the free food parcels.
I think he would also like to manage these.........

Exciting game and great win for Chelsea.
Benfica 1-2 Chelsea
Well deserved and two great goals.
Really pleased for Rafa Benitez who's had a lot of stick but in the end has delivered.

Oh yes well done Arsenal.
Was very disappointed that Brentford got beat in the div 1 playoff final after their bad luck in the final game of the season.
Word is the Millwall board of directors now have their shortlist ready for interviewing the managers job.
Arsene Wenger remains bookies favourite at 11-8 with Beckham next at 2-1 and Daren Ferguson at 5-1.Denis Wise also in the frame and Alex Ferguson says he may consider it if we ask him nicely once he's had his hip op.

Mourinho to become Chelsea Manager ?
Road to Chelsea clear as Jose Mourinho agrees Real Madrid exit
Jose Mourinho cleared a massive obstacle surrounding his proposed return to
Chelsea on Monday night by agreeing to forego £17 million in compensation to
ensure that he is free to leave Real Madrid this summer.

After a 30-minute meeting with Florentino Pérez, the Real president, it was
announced that Mourinho would depart by “mutual” consent after Madrid play
their final match of the La Liga season against Osasuna on June 1. Pérez
referred to the pressure of managing Madrid as an explanation for Mourinho’s
exit and drew a pointed comparison with working in the Premier League.
“In England a match lasts the two hours before a game, the two hours of the
game, and then the two hours afterwards,” he said. “Here it is seven days a week
and the pressure tells. This is a high-pressure job. We are proud of the fact
that so much is expected of us at this club. Mourinho is the longest serving
coach in the first division. It is not easy to last three seasons and more so at
this club.”
Pérez also addressed reports that Mourinho’s wife, Matilde, had been insulted
by supporters earlier this month as they drove to the Valdebebas training
ground. “We would have liked him to continue but the pressure was just not
sustainable,” said Pérez. “It had gone beyond the limits of normality with
insults unbecoming of civilised people.”
Significantly, Mourinho has negotiated a departure from Madrid that is free
of compensation for all parties. Had he been sacked, Mourinho could have
activated the £17 million clause in his contract. Similarly, if Chelsea had made a formal
approach for Mourinho, Madrid could have pointed to the remaining three years on
his contract and demanded compensation which, even with a break clause, would
have amounted to around £12 million.
Roman Abramovich, the Chelsea owner, was forced to pay around £18 million to
Mourinho and his staff when they left Stamford Bridge in 2007, meaning that the
issue of compensation to reappoint him would have represented a very serious
hurdle in negotiations.

The compromise that has been agreed between Mourinho and Madrid reflects an
acceptance on both sides that it would be better to move on. Even so, Mourinho’s
decision to walk away without any compensation does clearly point both to him
being determined to return to Chelsea and also having a firm offer. The
expectation at Chelsea is that the new manager will be officially appointed and
potentially also unveiled during the second week in June.
Chelsea have already begun work towards the summer transfer window, with a
£20 million deal in place for Bayer Leverkusen forward André Schürrle.
Chelsea would also like to add a striker and a central midfielder, while
Southampton’s Luke Shaw has been earmarked as a potential long-term replacement
for Ashley Cole.
News yesterday that Radamel Falcao will leave Atletico Madrid this summer is
certain to have alerted the hierarchy at both Chelsea and Manchester City.
Falcao, who would cost £48 million and has scored 70 goals in two seasons at
Atletcio, has been a long-term Chelsea target but is also of serious interest to
Monaco.
A decision on whether to keep Romelu Lukaku, who has enjoyed such a
productive on loan season at West Bromwich Albion, is expected after the club’s
pre-season tour of Asia. Petr Cech, the Chelsea goalkeeper, has stressed that
the players will welcome a swift resolution to the managerial uncertainty.
Despite his observations about the pressure of managing Madrid, Pérez argued
that Mourinho should be considered a success at the club both for winning La
Liga in 2011-12 and leading the team to three consecutive Champions League
semi-finals.
“He has taken us to another level,” he said. “We have made a big jump in
terms of competitiveness. Now we are back where we belong; before we were being
knocked out of the Champions League at the last-16 stage now we are always group
seeds. We played some spectacular football last season.”
Of the current trophyless season - Mourinho’s first as a manager - Perez
said: “In the world of mere mortals reaching the semi-finals of the Champions
League and the final of the Kings Cup would be enough but for us it is not
enough. I think overall the balance is a positive one. It has just not been
sufficiently good; neither for us nor for Mourinho. But it has not been a bad
season. If we had won a European Cup then we would not be talking about this.”
Carlo Ancelotti, another former Chelsea manager, is the favourite to replace
Mourinho but must still secure his release from Paris St-Germain.
Ancelotti has already met his current club’s president, Nasser Al Khelaifi,
to inform him of his desire to leave but PSG want him to see out a contract
which expires in 2014. Should Ancelotti leave PSG, Arsène Wenger and Rafael
Benítez would be among the targets for the French champions.
Wenger has stressed that he intends to see out his contract at Arsenal while
Benítez is also a leading candidate for Napoli.

Re: Footie Thread...................
Arsene Wenger reported to be heart broken that he hasn't made the short list for Millwalls new manager.
Interviews are due to start tomorrow though some newspapers already think its a done deal with Marcus Babbel former Liverpool defender.
Former Liverpool defender Markus Babbel is the new favourite to be the new manager of Millwall.
The Championship side have been on the look out for a new coach following the resignation of long-term boss Kenny Jackett earlier this month.Despite the usual suspects being linked with the New Den, The Independent understands that Millwall's American owners want to steer the club in a new direction, however deny a deal is yet done.Babbel, who played for Liverpool between 2000 and 2004 after joining from Bayern Munich and was among the 2001 treble winning side, has been out of work since he was fired by struggling Hoffenheim last December.Despite his last role ending in difficult circumstances, his record in his native country is impressive. He led Stuttgart to the Champions League in what was his first managerial job and gained promotion to the Bundesliga with Hertha Berlin in his second. It is known that Babbel is among those to apply for the vacancy at Millwall and The Independentunderstands the club were impressed by the manner of the 40-year-old's approach, with the former defender being among the first applicants.
If this turned out to be true then i think most Millwall fans would be getting quite excited as Babbel has a good track record in the Bundesliga.
And being a German at least we might score a few penalties.

Two massive games this weekend will force the barbie and buds out.....
Saturday will see a Kraut fest in London (that should upset the EDL) as Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich head for Wembley for the Champions League final (almost bound to end in penalties).
And on Bank holiday monday probably the most valuable game in the World as Watford and Crystal Palace meet at Wembley for the Championship play off final with the winners getting a £100mill ticket to the premier league.
Meanwhile Arsene Wenger was spotted in the car park at Millwall today in the queue for the top job in football at the moment.

One exceptionally good German team 2-1 Another very good German team
A very good game was had by all and a German team eventually looses at Wembley.
