I wouldn't feel low cass, NSY can't afford to be slack on the Mcs "review", to much attention now on Police doing their jobs properly, NSY imo are not going to lose there well respected reputation for a couple of child neglectors, and wet behind the ears, David Cameron, who is soon to be slaughted for his connections with Rebekah Brookes and Murdoch.
I can't understand Clarrie jumping on board, if and I mean if it is correct that the Mcs were been helped in the media by Clarrie connections with Rupert Murdoch and son-in-law Matthew freud, why would Mitchell be on TV saying he beleaves his phone was hacked, why would he bite the hand that feeds him and the Mcs?????????????

Re: Now does anyone doubt the Scotland Yard investigation into Maddies disappearance....
I can't help thinking that it's "the network" that is covering the McCanns and will continue protecting them. Cameron/Brooks/News International/Freud/all influential people and big businesses are all part of it. That's how they get into positions of power. They are all related via the network. The speedy response to the letter from Cameron was very telling for me. It was too organised but they were not even worried about this – that it would look too “pat”. He announced £3.5 million simply because they obviously thought it was enough to be reasonable. Not too much in the present financial climate so it was acceptable amount for the public to swallow.
Look at all the stuff the McCanns have said in their interviews, so many contradictions and so many silly answers:
Did you search? Well I mean….errm…. we've been working really hard!
Why did you leave the children alone every night? We thought it was safe and it’s the abductors fault.
The picture they removed from the DE because it showed them to the wider public in the wrong way. It’s the mass public they have to convince – not Forum Members as we have had our eyes opened.
It proves that they want to influence the public in a certain way and to be sympathetic. The picture they have used all along of Madeleine. It is a known fact that babies have large eyes to instil sympathy in the parent to encourage nurture. Animals are the same - it's the Ah! factor. They used the photo of Madeleine and touched it up to make her eyes very wide to encourage sympathy from the public.
Consider the interview where they are removing their microphones and inadvertently they were caught smiling. It is all an act - it always has been about fooling the public for sympathy because if it ever became obvious that they were involved wouldn't have got any money to hire the necessary lawyers to shut people up.
This IMO smacks of very clever pre-planned concealment of what actually happened. Whether this was all pre-planned before the holiday or not remains debateable.
We won’t get anything but a long drawn out whitewash in regard to what the Met. and the Government of this Country will do. They have managed to silence the press and the Portuguese and that’s where it will stay. Silent.
I doubt there will ever be a trial, a real investigation – I can’t help feeling at this moment in time that we have already lost the battle, let alone the war.

We don't know what's going on because it's all happening behind the scenes, so for the time being we have to stay positive!

I tend to agree with this sentiment. The NSY review will be done and then it will be sealed and put away and not allowed to be published for a minimum of 50 years or perhaps even 100. A bit like sensitive documents have been dealt with in the past. all covered under the banner of national security. FOI Act was never meant to be some means to get information as the title suggests. I think it was brought in to appease people. How many times has information actually been released under it. Not many if at all. Whatever the result of the review, the public won't hear it. The McCanns will probably go on for the next few years they way they have for the last 4. We could be still here, I honestly doubt it. Whilst we will be peeved and upset that they haven't and won't be brought to suitable justice, there is nothing we can do and the McCanns will be laughing all the way to where-ever. The fund will mysteriously be wound down or closed off and the funds remaining will disappear and they will claim that they have used them in legitimate searches for their daughter. The only hope of anything changing is in years to come when the twins are of an age, ( early 20s perhaps) when they will be really curious as to what really went on that night and will start to dig. Only then if they find anything will the case be reopened and the truth emerge. Until then, I have a feeling that where we are at is it. No nearer the truth and as far away as ever.
ETA Just see BB's response to the last sentence on Angelique's post. I have felt many times just recently in quitting. I don't post as often as I did but still read. You can't argue that we are going round in circles, discussing things which have been discussed many many times. The McCanns still walk around. Why.

With much respect its not negativity its being realistic , this review means nothing its just Cameron trying to be popular with his people but sadly he imo has misjudged the publics mood .He was a PR man after all .I came through the ranks with DM and 3As and i like to think we were willing to except that at times we must be logical and reasonable , i as much as the next would dearly love to see these two brought before a court but unless Portugal has reason to re open this case the NSY review means nothing its called going through the motions. Believe me i really hope i,m wrong ,

Halfamo, if the Government are covering the Mcs, why have we had the McCanns in our faces for years? why have we had them slaughering May and Cameron? why do they feel the need to inform everyone how the bad PJ stried to set them up?why haven't they just got on with their lives if they are so sure they are never going to answer to anything???
If they were safe we wouldn't have seen them since July 2008 when the Arguido was lifted.
NSY or Cameron wouldn't need to go through the motions, if something is covered up its covered up, end of, and the Mcs would have been FREE to get on with their lives but told to STFU in July 2008, and would have been happy to do so........if they were untouchable, but they are not imo
I dont believe the NSY have the authority to take the Mcs to court, I know its a Portuguese case, what I believe is that NSY and PJ are working together ajimo.

Re: Now does anyone doubt the Scotland Yard investigation into Maddies disappearance....
I think we have to work on the premise that after 14 months the PJ shelved the case and gave 4 options on what happened to Madeleiene. By agreeing
to this Review Cameron has agreed with the McCanns that all possible sightings were not checked out by the Portugese Police which to my mind is a snub
to the PJ and a possible rift with the Portugese Government . If nothing untoward is found and it is proven that the PJ acted diligently Cameron will have
cost the Country £3.5 million plus valuable Police time and we will never know what really happened to Madeleiene. If however, some evidence is found
that the PJ did not chase up the McCanns will claim the moral high ground with "I told you so". I do try to keep an open mind but by not allowing the
Report to be published , it is morally wrong when a Fund mostly donated by the Public has failed over 4 years to produce any evidence that Madeleiene
is still alive.

I feel that it has to be done behind closed doors, if the report was released we would then have the Mcs saying they are not going to get a fair trial, and we can't have that, I ain't a fan of Cameron but I really can't see how he can help them out, after all the abuse he and May have taken, this imo is to shut the Mcs up once and for all, and lets be honest at this moment in time it has shut them up, yes we had the Dutch picture of the pair of them, but that imo was a publicity stunt to show the gullible public "look arn't we so happy now that SY are involved", remember the Mcs favourite saying "its the wider agender" well this photo shot was just that.

Safe or not safe, they still need to be in the public eye to keep the money coming in for the Fund. They've not acknowledged SY's involvement (or if they have, I've missed it) and this is also to keep the funds coming in. If the general public think that they're getting Government help, surely they would question the necessity for a Fund so they're keeping very quiet on that front. Not because it worries them IMHO, just because they don't want to do anything to hinder their loving public in the continual filling of the coffers.

buildersbum i don,t believe in any cover up by this goverment or the last i think Brown was dragged into helping them in a small way by people who knew people and he backed away when he realised where this could be going, as i said this was Cameron trying to be a popular PM ,i don,t think they are untouchable far from it they will i hope in time be held to account , but imo it will be a slip up they do have this problem with not knowing when to shut up.I hope you,re right and NSY and the PJ are working together to solve this because i think they are guilty of a very serious crime and continue to get away with it , there is somewhere a little girl whose remains need to be put to rest and the people responsible to be held to account. imo.

Oh, so you believe the McCanns will be charged..........I admire your optimism, hope your right. Uum £3.5 million eh? wonder how long it will take the SY police to spend that much, they surely don"t have to check every single letter, e-mail, fax etc both in Portugal and Leicester.Much depends on co-operation of the Portugese Police but it could take a couple of years if they go through everything with a fine toothcomb. Suppose there is one possible piece of information which was overlooked , after 4 years how can it possible by chased up? Suppose the phone calls which could not be used
showed the McCanns were involved in Madeleiene"s disappearance , if the Portugese couldn"t use iit, how can Scotland Yard.?

Go Scotland Yard!
...........but Scotland Yard told the Brown government there had been no hacking and the investigation was stopped.........this has all started up because someone is getting hot and bothered that Murdoch is going to get Sky and it looked very much as though this government was about to let it all go through.
Now thankfully it looks as though enough 'you know what' has hit the fan and Murdochs plans will come to nothing. What I would like to know who has started this running and why they didn't do it sooner, possibly before the Dowler family had been put through the wringer.

Why did they order that photo to be whoosh clunked if that's the case?

The Mcs have shut up because there must be things going on behind the scenes for them, trying to find another 'sighting' to put out?
If they were home and dry they would be all over the press being ecstatic about SY being involved.

~Yes - I agree and I see what you mean - us the little people - well the law works for us insofar as if we break the law we pay dearly for it.
carmen has posted a video on another thread by Nick Davies of The Guardian and he refers to this - "the little people" worth watching.

ive watched the Nick Davies interview. Hes quite right, its the arrogance of people, believing that they are above us "little people" and what applies to us doesnt apply to them. well change is a coming ......
