Thank you Chrissie.

Thanks for the update chrissie and krisy 22.
" I am going to plead guilty for the crime I committed" I assume he still means manslaughter. He is proving one cool customer and I"m not
sure what the Defense is trying to prove about the scream, if someone was trying to strangle you.......wouldn"t YOU try to scream. ?????
We know Jo had been drinking, we have yet to know whether Tabak had.

Re: TRIAL OF VINCENT TABAK BEGINS 4/10/11
6:18pm UK, Tuesday October 11, 2011
The jury in the trial of the man accused of murdering Joanna Yeates
has heard of her violent death at the hands of a "cold and calculated
killer".
Dutchman Vincent Tabak has admitted manslaughter but denies murdering Miss Yeates on December 17 last year.
The 25-year-old architect was strangled after returning home alone
from drinks with work colleagues while her boyfriend Greg Reardon was
away seeing family.
She was killed minutes after arriving at her ground-floor flat in Clifton, which adjoined Tabak's apartment.
Bristol Crown Court heard that Miss Yeates had 43 separate injuries
on her body, including a fractured nose and grip marks on her wrists.
The prosecution told the jury that Tabak had denied knowing Miss Yeates in a statement given after his arrest.
He also submitted three prepared statements which the prosecution said were "false and dishonest".
Tabak is said to have accused detectives of creating false forensic
evidence and repeatedly insisted he had nothing to do with the murder.
Miss Yeates' blood was found in the boot of Tabak's Renault Megane
and on the wall near where her body was discovered by dog-walkers on
Christmas Day.
Tabak's DNA was also found on her jeans, underneath her knees, a likely indication of the way he had carried her body.
Miss Yeates suffered a number of injuries in the attack
The engineer was charged with her murder on January 22.
On February 8, Tabak told a Salvation Army chaplain in prison he was
sorry, he had something to tell him and then confessed to the crime.
Three months later he went on to admit manslaughter.
As the prosecution's opening statement drew to a close, lawyers told jurors it was for them to decide Tabak's "state of mind".
Mr Lickley said: "We suggest he did not panic or lose control. He was controlled and calculated."
Miss Yeates' parents chose not to be in court today due to the graphic and upsetting nature of the evidence being shown.
Pathologists said they found abrasions, injuries and bruises on her head, neck, trunk, arms and legs.
She fought for her life for some time as Tabak, 33, pinned her to the
floor by her wrists, Nigel Lickley QC, for the Crown, told the court.
Miss Yeates and her boyfriend Greg Reardon
"There was a violent struggle by Miss Yeates to survive," he said.
"He might have let go but he did not. He knew that Miss Yeates was in pain but struggling to breathe."
Mr Lickley described Tabak as a cold-blooded killer.
Post-mortem examinations showed Miss Yeates died of neck compression.
On Monday the court heard that, within minutes of "squeezing the life
out" of Miss Yeates, Tabak sent his girlfriend a text message: "Miss
you loads. It's boring here without you Vxx".
He later went shopping at a supermarket with her body in the boot of his car.
CCTV footage showed him wandering down the aisles at Asda in
Bedminster, Bristol, less than two hours after the killing on December
17.
On Wednesday the jury will retrace Miss Yeates' route home from the
pub and visit her flat and the site three miles away where her body was
found.

I still feel bad about the media induced suspicions I had concerning Jo's landlord and her boyfriend.
As for Tabak, at least he's had the courage to confess. What on earth possesses someone to murder a person they hardly know ? Why did he do it ? Has he a history of mental illness ? Didn't his family and girlfriend notice there was something seriously wrong with him ? Did he plan this dreadful act ? My sister says he has cold eyes and I agree...Poor Jo, killed in a the home where she should have been so safe...

Jury Retraces Joanna Yeates' Final Steps
1:11pm UK, Wednesday October 12, 2011
The jury in the trial of the man accused of murdering Joanna Yeates has
retraced her final footsteps and visited her flat.
Dutch engineer Vincent Tabak is standing trial after the death of the
25-year-old on December 17.
On
Tuesday the jury at Bristol Crown Court heard that the architect suffered 43
injuries after being attacked at her flat in Clifton.
The prosecution has described Tabak, 33, as a "cold and calculated killer"
who accused police of creating false evidence and denied knowing Miss
Yeates.
Tabak's QC William Clegg told jurors to concentrate on four key areas during
the visit.
Mr Clegg said he wanted them to consider the time and distance it would take
to walk from the Hophouse pub where Miss Yeates had been drinking with friends
to her home at 44 Canynge Road.
Police outside Miss Yeates' flat in Clifton after her
murder
He also asked them to consider carefully the view from the kitchen window
inside her flat.
The defence said it is through that window that Miss Yeates and Tabak first
saw each other on the night of the killing.
Mr Clegg also asked the jury to cross over Canynge Road to number 53 where
witnesses claim to have heard a scream.
"We would like you to go there and have in mind, having already been to No
44, whether in your judgment you think it possible that the scream that was made
inside the flat of No 44 could possibly be heard if you are standing outside No
53?," he said.
Vincent Tabak denies murder but admits manslaughter
"The defence are going to suggest that it was by no means certain that the
scream that was heard was connected to this event at all because of the distance
involved."
Finally, Mr Clegg has asked jurors to walk the short distance to Percival
Court, which lies at the rear of Miss Yeates's flat.
Jurors will also see the site three miles away in Failand, north Somerset,
where Miss Yeates' body was found by dog walkers on Christmas Day.
Tabak opted not to exercise his right to join the site visit.
Prosecutors claim he denied his crime for more than six weeks before
confessing to a prison chaplain in February.
Tabak has admitted manslaughter but denies murder.

Twitter silence over. I have followed the jury to Joanna yeates' flat and been inside

Much of what you'd expect to be inside has been taken but many personal possessions remained

Inside Jo's flat there were unopened christmas crackers, tinsel on the curtain rail and what looks like an unsent Christmas card to friends

Everywhere inside Joanna yeates's flat are signs of the police investigation. Carpets had been removed. Forensic fingerprint dust on walls

The jury spent 22 minutes inside the flat having walked the route Joanna took home on Dec 17th

Because of the time of year when Jo was killed there was a sense inside her flat of time having stopped before

Yesterday jury were asked to pay attention to time it took to get from HopHouse pub to 44 canynge rd. I timed it at 7 minutes

Hi wjk,
I tried to watch the video but it is no longer available. I feel sorry for the Boyfriend too, he was a bit suspect in the beginning. I expect he
had to give up the Flat immediately because when Jo"s body was found it became a Crime scene.

I wonder what the defence meant when they told the jury to pay special attention to the kitchen window as that is where Jo & Tabak first saw each other that night?
Are they going to say Jo flirted with Tabak through the window, then invited him in?

I"m probably wrong, but didn"t Jo have to go a long way round to get to her Flat and the Kitchen window looked on to the next Flats? The
Pizza bothers me, Jo bought it and took it home. Since her coat etc were in her Flat, I think she invited Tabak in matters got out of hand and
he took the Pizza , not so much to eat but because he knew his fingerprints would be on it.

thanks wjk.......so she must have invited Tabak in. Probably after a few drinks she saw him passing and invited him in for a drink. Jo"s Mum
said at the time she had never heard Jo talking about Tabak and didn"t think they were friends. Maybe Tabak had been drinking as well and
got annoyed when Jo tried to resist his advances , but there was no evidence of any rough stuff in the Flat was there, maybe she went to his Flat..
