Re: TRIAL OF VINCENT TABAK BEGINS 4/10/11
Thanks chrissie, if all this was known before.......how come Tabak wasn"t arrested sooner?
Prosecution "Jo yeates was resisiting and fighting for her life. He held her neck long enough to squeeze the life out of her"
No opening statement about how Tabak met Jo that night and whether she went to his Flat or he went to hers. Wasn"t there a report that Jo was
strangled with a Scarf?

Panda wrote:Morning krisy22,
Thanks for the Article, very informative, especially the bit about the damages paid by so many Newspapers.
I"m no Legal Eagle but would assume the fact that Tabak has pleaded guilty to manslaughter instead of "not guilty" means Court time lessened and few
Witnesses called because Tabak is no disputing his guilt, just that he didn"t mean to kill Jo.
I am very keen to know how Tabak moved Jo"s body when he supposedly did not have a car and was not identified on the CCTV Cameras at each end
of Clifton Bridge when Police examined all the photographs. The biggest mystery of course is how he managed to act normal when he spent Christmas
at his girlfriends house and New Year with his Parents .
I also thought he did`t have a car,but looks as if he did. Maybe it was the girlfriends.

Thanks chrissie I presume Rupert Evelyn is the Prosecutor, it is going to be quite fascinating to listen to this story unwind. Obviously it is tragic
that Jo lost her life and her parents having to go through this ordeal , but what snapped in Tabak to make him strangle Jo.?

Yeates Killer 'Researched Body Decomposition'
Joanna Yeates' killer searched the internet for details about body
decomposition and bin collections after her death, a court has heard.
Vincent Tabak, who has admitted manslaughter but denies murder, allegedly
strangled the landscape architect with his bare hands.
Nigel Lickley QC told Bristol Crown Court the Dutch engineer had held the
25-year-old's neck long enough to "squeeze the life out of her".
He then allegedly researched details about body decomposition and refuse
collections in the Clifton area of Bristol where they both lived.
The court also heard how he apparently texted his girlfriend to say he was
"bored" in the hours after the killing.
And he was said to have repeatedly scoured the Avon and Somerset Police
website for details of their investigation, sometimes hourly.
Tabak, wearing a dark suit, grey shirt and blue tie, referred to a file of
notes at his side as he sat in the dock.
He heard prosecutors claim that he had pretended to be a "concerned and
worried neighbour" after Miss Yeates' death.
The court was told he carried on with life as normal and even discussed the
case with friends at a dinner party.
Mr Lickley said: "There is no doubt and neither is it in dispute as to how
that young woman died. Vincent Tabak strangled her with his hand or hands.
"He held her throat hard enough and for long enough to kill her. He was in
complete control and knew what he was doing.
"At the same time, he knew Joanna Yeates was resisting and fighting for her
life."
Vincent Tabak arriving at Bristol Crown Court
The jury was told this morning that Tabak had already admitted manslaughter
and it was their job to decide whether he had in fact committed murder.
The trilingual engineer lived in a ground-floor flat adjoining Miss Yeates'
home in Clifton, Bristol.
It is alleged that he murdered the 25-year-old minutes after she returned
home following festive drinks with colleagues on December 17.
Miss Yeates' parents David and Teresa were in court for the first day of
evidence in what is expected to be a four-week trial.
Mrs Yeates wept as she watched CCTV footage of her daughter's last movements
shortly before she was killed.
Joanna's parents David and Teresa arrive for the first day
of evidence
She was shown on her way home after the drinks and had then "settled down for
the evening" when she was interrupted by Tabak, the court was told.
Neighbours at a nearby Christmas party could hear her screams as the killing
took place.
The architect was reported missing two days later when her boyfriend Greg
Reardon returned to their shared flat after visiting his family in
Sheffield.
He had last seen her on the Friday when they shared lunch at their favourite
pub before he left.
Her body was not found until Christmas morning, when it was discovered by a
dog walker on a snowy verge in Failand, north Somerset.
Prosecutors said Tabak took the pizza and box Miss Yeates had bought on the
night of her death, as well as one of her socks.
The reason for their removal is not known and the box has never been
found.
Police first spoke to Tabak in the early hours of December 20 as part of
their inquiries at the block of flats.
By then, he had already dumped her body at Longwood Lane after stowing it in
the boot of his Renault Megane, Mr Lickley said.
He said the engineer had tried to cover the body with leaves after possibly
trying to lift it into a quarry by the lane.
Architect Joanna Yeates, 25, was found dead on Christmas
morning
Before Mr Reardon had reported his girlfriend missing, Tabak had searched for
the spot using Google Maps, the court heard.
Mr Lickley said: "It is a striking feature of this case that, as one young
man became more and more worried about his missing girlfriend, there, on the
other side of the common wall, was her killer."
The court heard that when police told the Dutchman they could link him to the
body, he accused forensics of "forgery and taking bribes".

Detectives flew out to Holland to take Tabaks statement.
He was agitated when asked for DNA sample.
He asked police why door to Jo's flat had been removed?
He continued to look up police & media reports on the case & also looked up rubbish collect times for his road.

Tabak also looked up sexual assault on internet.
Went to dinner party on Jan 15th & told friends he'd been interviewed by police.
Friend asked Tabak what he thought killer must be like. He replied 'detached crazy person'

I guess he'd have to be pretty cold and calm to load the body into the boot and go to the supermarket for a few beers!
Re: TRIAL OF VINCENT TABAK BEGINS 4/10/11
I just wonder what triggered this behaviour? Maybe he had fancied Jo from a distance and bumped into her on her way home, she invited him in for a drink,
he had great expectations and when she tried to fend him off he strangled her. He will use this as the reason her death wasn"t premeditated, but his
later actions proves he felt no remorse.

Joanna Yeates
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-15240284
The man accused of murdering landscape architect Jo Yeates drove to Asda with her body in his car, a court heard.
Bristol Crown Court was told by prosecutors that Vincent Tabak, who has admitted Miss Yeates's manslaughter, bought rock salt, crisps and beer.
Nigel Lickley QC, said Miss Yeates's body "must" have been in the car boot when he visited the Bedminster store.
The body of Miss Yeates was found on a verge near Bristol on Christmas Day. Tabak denies her murder.
The jury was told the 33-year-old Dutch engineer went to the Asda store twice and did his shopping on the second visit.
Mr Lickley told the court that Tabak texted his girlfriend after the killing, saying he was "bored".

I will merge this in a few minutes with the thread on 'UK News.'
Re: TRIAL OF VINCENT TABAK BEGINS 4/10/11
I have to think he's already done something similar and now built up to murder.Panda wrote:I just wonder what triggered this behaviour? Maybe he had fancied Jo from a distance and bumped into her on her way home, she invited him in for a drink,

Wonder if we will find out he has a record of similar attacks on women at the end of the court case?
