What Hope Now
Well I've been reading these posts today and I must say things are now looking pretty bleak from where I'm standing. My opinion is this. Unless this review comes up with anything earth shattering then the truth of the mystery of Madeleine's disappearance is unlikely to be solved in the forseeable future. Maybe in years to come through some kind of forensic breakthrough or skilled investigator something might come up or even the confession of somebody or new evidence unearthed. But I think that if the review comes up with nothing satisfactory, then it will take many many years for this to be solved if ever.

Re: What Hope Now
Bleak is good - it means the McSpin machine is in full swing.
SY, contrary to what McSpin insinuate, will not release any details while the review is "live", and the oppression of Bennett and Amaral must surely be making fence-sitters wonder why the McSpin project is about protection and process and nothing whatsoever to do with finding Madeleine.
I think there are some cages rattling out there.

I really don't know what to think, one minute
i'm optimistic next minute I'm 'bleak'.
But I've got this feeling that it is intentional
in order to discombobulate (a great word) the
masses.

Re: What Hope Now
I dont think things are bleak for us, I think that things look bleak for Team McCann all the rubbish the last couple of days is all to do with taking ALL attention away from Bennet, Brown and Amaral meeting up and Brown doing her investigating over the next couple of weeks. We also have the SY review, which imo is nowhere near the end as Keir Simmons would have us believe, its total rhubarb any underhand business between newspapers and SY Coppers has now finished, (well while the leveson inquiry is going on) no matter what Simmons says who the h*ll is going to tell him, or the McCanns whats going on with the Review NOBODY.......
Yes things are looking bleak but only for the McCanns and their Tapas friends......interesting times ahead

I think it's obvious SY are keeping the mcs out of the loop, and that can only be good news.

We all hope she will be found - preferably alive and well.
And, if Prayer comforts you, that's great.
Shame it doesn't stop bad things like this happening, though.

I agree 100%. Scotland Yard have already said that they will not publish a report at the conclusion of their review. This does not mean that there will be no report; what it means is that it won't be made public. But, this is standard procedure. The police never make reports public which concern live investigations. In fact, the only report that is issued will be to the Crown Prosecution Service. Contrary to what some people would have us believe, Scotland Yard do not report to Gerry McCann, Kate McCann, Clarence Mitchell, or Keir Simmons or indeed to anyone else who might try to give the impression that they are privy to inside information. It should be remembered that according to the Assistant Chief Constable of Leicestershire Constabulary, there are suspects in this case who cannot be eliminated and these suspects have assembled a formidable legal team. This fact will not have gone unnoticed by the Yard and they will no doubt be particularly cautious about information being leaked. In fact if I were Keir Simmons I'd shut the hell up before the Yard get annoyed. This is entering the endgame and the last thing they need are people quoting the "Commissioner" and pretending to have been told something. Publishing articles which point the police away from suspects is just as bad as pointing the finger at others and insinuating that they are guilty.

Confused now.
How can you hope she will be found?

What a horrible thing to say, of course we would all like to see her found. I just don't think it's a very realistic ambition, seeing as she's probably been dead since 2007.

Re: What Hope Now
Unfortunately she won't be found alive, the dogs have seen to that but I would hope her body is found and what ever happened to her will bring justice to those who disposed off her and never had a second thought about doing so.

Re: What Hope Now
Snowflake I don't understand your response to TEIN's post. It goes without saying that all of us would wish, by some miracle, that Madeleine was found safe and well. Should she be dead, which is what I believe, do you hope that her remains will be found and that she may one day have a burial place where she can be laid to rest?

Re: What Hope Now
I don't think she will be found because I do think that she has been dead for five years, and the parents know much, much more than they are saying.
I do hope that I am wrong but sadly, I do not think so.
And yes, it is horrible for you to say we don't want her to be found. Maybe you should be taking a good, hard look at yourself from that high horse of yours.

I'm feeling a bit more optimistic now then for a long time. Things seem to be moving, under the surface. With Amaral, Tony Bennet, there's a SY review, who knows what Pat Brown will come up with.
