I also think that if she straightened up, there would still be a curve on the back, in other words, her head is too far forward to allow the body to straighten normally. I think the head is pasted on - the girl measured by the tennis balls (6.5 cm diameter) and not even allowing for the angle, would be about 114 cm tall. A long way from the 90 cm advertised by her parents.
Her right hand doesn't look like that of a toddler either, the knuckles are to defined. I'm now going to have to look at the hands of 4 year old children without alarming the parents.

You know, every time I see a toddler that age, especially when they're girls, they are just so irresistible and I think of Madeleine. I also see them about to get lost masses of times, at the library when their mum is busy at the counter, in the shops - they are amazingly easy to lose sight of. The very idea of leaving such a child alone in a dark room with easy access for all and sundry - speechless for once.

Also I just noticed on that first photo with the tennis balls. Madeleine's hands look a slightly paler shade than her arms. Which is very strange I think. Usually the arms are if anything paler than hands if somebody gets a tan.

I have always found these two images intriguing, taken it is claimed a day or two apart, yet it is very hard to accept that they are of the same child. I can just about accept that they are but in my opinion the time frame is impossible. I would say that the poolside one was taken the previous summer - to tie in with the apparent ages of both children and the weather conditions - but I cannot think why the McCanns would claim it was taken on the fateful holiday.

There was an early newspaper report that Kate said that she felt safe at PDL because she'd been there before which would explain the photo. The report could of course have been an error but then again it certainly wouldn't be the first time that a correct account was whooshed because it didn't conform to the official version of an event.

This is a very interesting video and I think proves once and for all that manipulation has taken place. I have always thought that this picture was another child with Madeleines face photoshopped into it. This video proves it IMO.

The posture is not like Madeleine - in other photos she has always appeared without any sign of rounded shoulders.

My first and lasting image of Madeleine is the home video Snow White footage as this was shown on the BBC news report I saw on 4th May 2007. The poolside photo did not appear for about three weeks and there is of course much debate as to why that was.

I think that in years to come people will be talking about where they were when they heard Madeleine had been "abducted" in the same way that the JFK assassination is discussed now amongst those of a certain age!

I always knew where I was when Winston Churchill died, when President Kennedy was assassinated and when the Princess of Wales was killed in the car crash. However, I can't for the life of me think where I was when the news of Madeleine's disappearance broke.

I wasn't being entirely serious there - maybe a better question would be where were you when you first realised this is a gigantic hoax!

The JFK assassination and other events were shock happenings to public figures and the memories of how we heard the news stay with us. The coverage about Madeleine didn't have that initial shock value; I guess that most people simply wondered why the case of what was most likely to be a child who'd wandered off was being given so much air time.

I've just seen the same comparison on steelmagnolia's blog. What did the policeman say to sm? It's about time the truth was out.

For the life of me, I cannot see why, on choosing to make an announcement of dramatic import, one would then couch it in such vague and cryptic terms.
For those on the same side of the fence, the lack of explanation is frustrating to say the least ...
