Post  jinvta Tue 15 Oct - 5:09

The PJ had already ruled out the Tanner sighting because she was unreliable.

So, now we have the abductor in 5A before Gerry's 9:15 pm check so that Gerry can notice the door more open than they had left it. After Gerry leaves the apartment, the abductor opens the window and shutter without any trace (and without tampering with Kate's fingerprints on the window). The abductor decides to hang out in the apartment for another 30 minutes, and then decides to leave at around 9:45 pm around the time Tanner would have left to relieve O'Brien and O'Brien would have returned to the Tapas Bar. This timeline is perhaps even more ridiculous than the previous one.

Sky News now got the editor of the Portugal News on (English by the way). Saying he was there at the McCanns reconstruction a couple of years back and what he didn't realise was that it was his friend that was used in the Tanner sighting because it was so dark. He said that there was no way Tanner would be able to describe the man the way she did so the all knew it was nonsense. However, he also stated quite strongly that the walked the road where the Smith sighting was with Mr. Amaral and that Amaral was convinced this is where whoever had Madeleine walked. Also Eamon Holmes was pushing the spate of burglaries reported on Crimewatch last night and the editor said he had researched that and found nothing to back that up.

I see that - thanks ,  seems to me he is NOT buying McCanns version.

Mike Punnett former Met officer - now on, mentioning 700calls, is there a clue in there - the jigsaw again!! Eamonn asking how PJ are re-acting - CCTV not checked on sighting, calling the Met a proper team, worries him that other things may have been missed by PJ, -significant that the new information is being released now (yeah we know that dude - the libel trial in on in PT) in his exp - "there is no quick fix here - no quick fix"

Well that didnt tell us much then did it??

Yes, I saw all the guests on Sky this morning.
Well done to the editor of the Portuguese news, letting it be known that none of this is new.
Tanners sighting was dismissed virtually from the start etc.
Holmes doing his usual Portuguese bashing, going on about burglaries.  IIRC, didn't he have money stolen when in Portugal and had a rant at the time about the PT police? He's an idiot!!
Mike Pannett!! Does he have a book to flog? He's now an author. I've read all his books but I think they may be going to a charity shop now!!
Met police are a proper team!! WTF??
He did say the PT police may not have had much co-operation. Which is one thing he said that is true!!

This snippet is from the Telegraph, I didn't want to post the whole article, basically it is saying what all the Press reported

Nearly 500 people have contacted Scotland Yard with information regarding Madeleine's abduction from the Portuguese resort of Praia da Luz on May 3, 2007.

Among them were two independent callers who phoned police on Monday night with the same name for the man shown on the e-fit picture.

Morning jassi, actually, if these two callers have named the man I suppose it is worth tracing him.

What really p***es me off is the airy way Redwood dismisses the timelines of the Tapas 9 which has been the cornerstone of the investigation from day 1....yet no Press report has commented on this , the Portugese Police must be fuming.!!

But of course our aspiration is to have the case reopened so we can work together with our Portuguese colleagues jointly so we can establish what happened to Madeleine McCann."

I think Redwood has definitely lost the plot.!!!! Does he seriously think the Portugese will re-open the case on his evidence??? Can you imagine how their Police must be feeling after they spent well over E1 million based on the timelines , had to have hordes of Press camping out in PDL every day , been called names by the British Press like "sardine Munchers" , based their investigation on the Honesty of the Tapas group , only to be told their timelines are discounted.

The McCanns have no shame at all and I sincerely hope that Amaral wins .

The way I understand it, it is not the McCanns timeline that has changed but that one of them has been 'outed' as not quite telling it like it was. Matt.

The checks on the reconstruction were what we understand them to be. It showed Gerry doing his check at 9pm and Jane Tanner doing her check around the same time.

It then moved to the 9.30 check, supposed to be done by Kate, but Matt was also going at the same time, so she didn't. This is where it differs and, in any case, this is what we have all said for ages now, that Matt didn't check properly and was fabricating his account of how far into the bedroom he ventured. The reconstruction has him coming back to the table saying, "All quiet." Then Kate goes off around 10pm.

Therefore, this is telling me that it is Matt who is being discredited for not in fact looking to see if all three children were there.

I believe in Jane Tanner's sighting, but believe also that Mr Amaral had grave doubts about how someone who Jane saw could have abducted Madeleine in the timeframe given. Mr Amaral mentioned before about the evening creche but until someone could be traced who did pick up a little girl at around the time JT saw, who was wearing similar coloured clothing, all Mr Amaral could do was speculate this was a holidaymaker walking from the creche or walking about for some other innocent reason, and nothing more.

Redwood needs to get out more, if he considers what we were subjected to last night a "revelation moment" or whatever he called it ! I thought he was going to explode with glee in the build up, I even held my breath in anticipation. I'm still looking at the tv shaking my head. The poor man.

I expect the two callers who named 'the man' will be paid an important visit by Operation Grange defectives, and the two  million callers who named Gerry McCann will be totally ignored!

Morning pennylane, Gerry eveb says that during his checking he felt there was someone behind the door....yet he didn't go and check before he left???

Of course we are not reading anything about the extended night out until after 1am , which would have been enough time for the three children to be "Abducted". BTW the difference between "Abducted" and "Kidnapped is that "kidnapped " is for ransom, the McCanns chose the word carefully, because they knew there would be no ransom note or phone call.
