Three former News Of The World journalists have pleaded guilty to phone hacking charges.
The Old Bailey heard on Wednesday that ex-chief correspondent Neville Thurlbeck, former assistant news editor James Weatherup, and ex-news editor Greg Miskiw had pleaded guilty to conspiracy to intercept communications at earlier hearings.
The revelation came at the beginning of a trial of eight defendants who face 15 phone-hacking related charges between them.
Ex-News International chief executive Rebekah Brooks and former NOTW editor and ex-Downing Street spin-doctor Andy Coulson are accused of conspiring to illegally access voicemail messages on mobile phones. Both deny the charges.

I've always thought that their phones and Pinky's may have been hacked. They must be worried. The hackers certainly had no conscience

I can't believe they weren't hacked either, as it was the biggest news story on the face of the planet. But they went to such great lengths to stress that they weren't hacked. What will happen if it comes out that they were, after all? They can hardly turn around and claim ignorance.chrissie wrote:http://news.sky.com/story/1161669/phone-hacking-three-journalists-plead-guilty

We know there was hacking done by NOTW, the question is, will these guys say where the instructions to do so came from?chrissie wrote:http://news.sky.com/story/1161669/phone-hacking-three-journalists-plead-guilty

I would think Brooks and Coulson would be aware with such a disgusting and unethical and risky practice that they needed to keep their hands clean and would have found ways to hide that this was not merely a bunch of renegades doing this but was a top down strategy and policy. Why should anyone take the fall for them?
As far as whether McCanns phones were tapped or Clarence's I would say that assuredly the effort was made. Whether it was successful who knows.
I would think anyone engaged in criminal activity such as fraud or covering up info on a case would be smart enough not to do so over the cell phone much less leave telling messages. You never know who will pick up or pass along a message, its like an email. We are all aware that you are not in control of where these things go once you send them off.

There is no way that the McCann's phones or anyone associated with the were not hacked. This is a much bigger story than many of the ones they have admitted to.

I've always said the same, but who has that evidence? I hope it's with SY and that's what kick started the 'review'.SteveT wrote:There is no way that the McCann's phones or anyone associated with the were not hacked. This is a much bigger story than many of the ones they have admitted to.
