Did panicking kidnapper plan to leave 'injured' Madeleine McCann with medics?
WHOEVER kidnapped Madeleine McCann may have intended to leave her outside a doctor’s surgery after she was injured in a burglary gone wrong, it was claimed last night.
By: James Murray
Published: Sun, November 3, 2013
The key sighting of the potential prime suspect carrying a sleeping child happened in a small road just yards away from Luzdoc, the medical centre in the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz.
British residents Julie and Colin Kimber have been trying to work out why an abductor would risk taking a three-year-old into a fairly busy area of bars and restaurants just before 10pm on May 3, 2007.
Looking at the exact point of the sighting, Mr Kimber said: “You have to ask yourself why he was heading down the hill in this direction when he must have known there were more people about.
“Maybe a burglary went wrong and the child was injured and then he thought he should take her to the medical centre, panicked and then took her away.
“If he was taking her to someone in a car he would not have arranged the rendezvous in this area because too many people would be around. Why risk being seen by somebody?”
Another possibility being considered is that an abductor lived locally and took Madeleine to his property after kidnapping her from the family’s holiday apartment at the Ocean Club.

"You have to ask yourself why he was heading down the hill in this direction"
Colin Kimber
Mr Kimber added: “Ever since the Crimewatch programme, which placed great emphasis on this key sighting, we have been trying to work it out, but the route is baffling.
“There is a real village community in Luz and everybody has been thinking hard about if they saw anyone who looked like the man in the e-fit.”
Another theory is that an abductor may have taken Madeleine to one of several derelict buildings and gardens, all just yards from where Irish holidaymaker Martin Smith and other members of his family saw the e-fit man carrying a child.
Directly opposite the sighting is a junction with two derelict houses.
A small doorway leads into the garden.
Today, by looking over the wall, it seems someone has been living in the garden. There is an open toilet and a hose pipe shower with a curtain rail, table and chairs and signs of an open fire.
One of the buildings is owned by a German woman who uses it to house bikes for rent to holidaymakers. The other property is up for sale.
Neither owner wished to comment last week. It is understood the gardens were thoroughly searched when Madeleine vanished but locals could not recall seeing police enter any derelict buildings.
In recent months police have been active in this key area of the resort. One resident, who declined to be named, said: “They have been up and down the road, day and night.

MYSTERY: Clinic that expats think man could have been heading for [MARK KEHOE]
“Some people reckon the man was on his way to the rocky coastline a few hundred yards away to take her away in a boat, but that would be very tricky at night.
“This renewed police activity is good because people want this solved once and for all.”
Luz residents have been sceptical of reports that a sacked Ocean Club worker may be the abductor. He died in a tractor accident four years ago.
The 40-year-old was a petty criminal with a drug problem but last week his widow said he was “incapable of touching a child” and there was nothing in his criminal file about being a paedophile.

The theory that a burglar would take Madeleine in a burglary gone wrong is beyond ridiculous. Has there ever been a single case of this happening? Anywhere? Ever? I highly doubt it. For one, the burglar would not be concerned about a 3-year-old being able to recognize him as it would be nearly impossible for a toddler to do an e-fit. Also, a burglar would not suddenly get a conscience and decide to leave all valuables behind in order to risk bringing an injured child to a medical center. These theories make no sense at all and are even worse than the revengeful tractor man theory.

That article isn't about the burglary , it's about where to hide a body.

Let's take out the stupid bits about burglary and what have we left..
Ive added a few bits...

Thanks Annabel
James Murray is the Senior Reporter on this case and he must have been to PDL to talk to the local residents, who obviously have a negative attitude towards abduction . I think the net is closing in on the McCanns but it really need a breakthrough of some kind to turner the corner.

What a piece of complete and utter carp. We are reverting back to the early times of Madeleine's disappearance when obfuscation, confusion and smoke and mirrors were the order of the day. The theory of events (thesis according to Doctor Gerry) changed with the regularity of their tapas buddy's statements, each story line being more stupid and plainly flawed than the last. This flooding of the media with garbage presented as virtual fact really needs bringing to a halt by our Police, our Judiciary and especially our Government who are footing the bill with our tax pounds.
What other case has been presented with such arrogance by those who are responsible for whatever happened to their daughter... The parents who admitted to abandoning all their children on a regular basis. Whatever fate befell Madeleine it was because THEY abandoned her, by their own admission no other possible reason can exist!!!

This must be the same empty house.
From James Murray, the Express Nov 7 2010:
Walking alongside the waste ground, he (Mr Amaral) enters a narrow street called Rua da Escola Primaria. “This is where there was a significant sighting of a man carrying a child in his arms,” he said. “He was seen by a witness, Martin Smith from Ireland.”
The man with the child continued down the hill and would have come to a crossroads. Opposite the junction is an empty villa with a large garden. The wooden door leading to the garden is open.
“It was open at the time and the villa is still empty,” Mr Amaral said. “My officers spent a lot of time here.”

Agreed malena, but now that the Press appear more negative, all this tongue-in-cheek reporting will hopefully make SY and the McCanns squirm .malena stool wrote:What a piece of complete and utter carp. I agree Malena, I have never read anything so daft. If Mr and Mrs Kimbel thought it was a burglar taking her to the medical centre then they cannot be quite right in the head. Then there is the someone living in the garden with tables and chairs, who is that we wonder ? Plus have they been living there since 2007? The plot thickens, it's thickened so much we cannot get the wooden spoon out.
As for the Sunday Express they have printed some rubbish before but this time they have gone into the realms of pure fantasy

Can't believe I have read so much shite in my life. Really the press are insinuating that every resident in PDL is a village idiot and it's a busy place heaving with bars and restaurants. It's not even busy in early May, that is why you would take notice if you passed someone like the Smith family did, and looked at Gerry, after they left the bar, he was probably the only person walking around.
The burglar story is the explain the blood in the apartment IMO.
These stupid stories are like fairytales that a 6 year old child would make up.

Morning fuzeta, as we know Desmond forked out £1 million and will be the first to enjoy the McCanns be charged, as I said earlier , this article is a clever ploy. The Public are fed up with reading about the Press so Desmond/Murray are are piling on the outrageous....notice how they print it the day Kate is appearing on BBC Radiofuzeta wrote:I agree Malena, I have never read anything so daft. I think this article is very important because James Murray is putting the emphasis on the Smith sighting again, where it should be, instead of on flimsy and totally unprovable suspicions concerning a poor man from Cabo Verde, long dead and who hasn't the means to defend himself.

There are reports on another thread of a Bristol gardener who was perhaps wrongly arrested on suspicion of paedophilia by the police and consequently un-arrested, then burned to death by vigilantes. That is what the media have printed... The known facts no more no less.
Why should these same rags be permitted to print infantile garbage about an ongoing, (or so we are led to believe) criminal investigation into the disappearance and possible death of a 3 year old child?

You are probably right Panda, but this pair of neer do wells have been taking the rise out of both this country and Portugal for 7 years. They have destroyed many people's lives by their inane and stupid lies. They've been allowed to create a cash cow out of their daughters disappearance fully supported by consecutive governments, the media allowed to berate the police force of a friendly nation, and HMG involved to the point ensuring the police officer leading the investigation was forced to resign and Brown himself stated the release of truth concerning Madeleine could affect National Security...Panda wrote:It's a cheap way of selling papers Malena, although in this case I do think the Express is extracting the urine.malena stool wrote:There are reports on another thread of a Bristol gardener who was perhaps wrongly arrested on suspicion of paedophilia by the police and consequently un-arrested, then burned to death by vigilantes. Well, at least it shows that they aren't taking the petty thief from Lagos thing seriously, which might be a slap at the PJ for having such a ridiculous theory, we'll just ignore them - but it does put Smithman back in the frame.
I wonder if they'd had Eddie down there. If the body was in 5A long enough to leave a scent then it'd have been in that garden long enough as well, or in that area, if that was the first dump site. Of course they didn't know about Smith sighting til SEpt when McCanns had already left PDL so I suppose the chance was missed to have them scour that area.
Good to know the PJ have been up and down the street. They are still on the SMith sighting, whatever is said about Five Euros man.
there are 3 reasons someone could be going that way:
he lived or was staying there and was taking her to his lair
the father was rushing her in panic away from 5A to stage an abduction/get rid of the body
the pedophiles plan to pick Maddie up outside 5 A or on the corner somehow failed - van wouldn't start -the parents arrived unexpectedly to do a check and the van took off - and now we have to meet elsewhere
So, the latest in the string of laughable theories, a burglar, in being surprised by someone a meter tall and 35 pounds, killed her violently then instead of running away decided to take her to hospital where he could leave her and run away, but then decided not to do that either, once he was "made" by Smiths.
