The missing mattress covers
The first police on the scene commented on the cots with no bed sheets. Would you allow your toddlers to sleep directly on 'holiday villa' cot mattresses? To me this is an indication that the twins weren't in the room, so where were they and was Maddie in the room herself or not at all?

I don't recall hearing that the twins' cots didn't have bed sheets and "NO" I wouldn't allow anyone to sleep directly on any mattress let alone one used previously by others. The McCanns don't seem to practice good hygiene do they; don't forget they said the three children used the same tooth brush.

Re: The missing mattress covers
Chapter 3 Truth of the lie; The report mentions that the twins were asleep in their bed, but there is no proof to confirm it; on the contrary, in the photographs, you can see empty cots, where only the mattresses remain - the sheets and blankets having been removed. Why have their beds been stripped? If the sheets had not been removed, traces of their presence could have been found there.
I may have got the bed sheet issue mixed up but I'll look for further information, I was sure it was commented on by witnesses on arrival at 5a

I'm sure one of the Ocean Club employees mentioned that when she arrived at the apartment, on the night of May 3rd, there were no sheets. It's on McCann Files under the early days. I'll find it later if you don't in the meantime!
Re: The missing mattress covers
It's a bit like the missing fingerprints on the window off the apt, inside and out ....only Kate mccanns.
I don't believe the twins slept in apt 5a whilst the mccanns dined.
What happened to the 'third' cot that was in the mccanns apt ?

Re: The missing mattress covers
I'm not convinced that the kids were left alone every night, its very coincidental that one adult was always missing from dinner at the tapas for various reasons. Maddie's "why didn't you come...." statement was clearly made up to cover something, why publicly admit it otherwise. For me it was not for the crying because that was the night before. It was just a reason to set up the more checking charade imo.kitti wrote:It's a bit like the missing fingerprints on the window off the apt, inside and out ....only Kate mccanns.

Haven't tracked down the bed sheet issue quite yet however I'm reasonably sure it's there somewhere.

Silvia Batista statement....
https://missingmadeleine.forumotion.net/t8298p45-mark-warner-ocean-club-staff-statements
She thought that the child’s mother was downbeat with the situation, the father showed his concern and also asked both for the press to be alerted and for dogs to be brought in for the search. Concerning the others, she can only recall that Fiona and her husband, Payne, were hysterical about the situation. At a given moment, right after the PJ’s elements arrived, the child’s parents removed the twins from the cots where they still slept, and took them into the apartment on the first floor. At Kate’s request, the deponent removed the soft toys and a blanket from the cots, and also took them to the first floor. The babies’ cots were left only with the mattresses.

NOT QUITE WHAT HAPPENED IS IT, ACCORDING TO FIONA PAYNE.
the PJ had arrived, erm, the plain clothes detectives, I think there was a couple of them and they'd been in the apartment and obviously they, at that point, had said they needed to close off the apartment or move the twins. Erm, so I'd suggested putting the twins up in our apartment, erm, Emma, who was there, had arranged some of the MARK WARNER Nannies to get some extra cots and more bedding, erm, and we set up the cots in our living room and a bed for Kate and Gerry as well, not that they used it, but, erm, and then I think, I think they were Policemen, I can't remember who carried up Sean and Amelie. Erm, and we sat on the sofa, me and Kate with the twins asleep on us for a while, erm, and they didn't wake up and, again, that was quite strange, even in the transfer and, and being handled by people that weren't their parents, they didn't, they didn't wake up.
...............................................................
The McCanns didn't even take and carry their last two children from their cots.

It appears that Jane was not aware they were 'given something' to 'help' them sleep (whilst their mum and dad go out to get rat ar*ed).Lioned wrote:Wonder why they didn't wake up ?

I don't even think the mccanns are that stupid as to leave two 2 year olds sedated...on their own....no, they were elsewhere and brought down by Kate McCann or O'brien or both .

Re: The missing mattress covers
Perhaps the soft toys and blankets were their comforters. If they slept on bare mattresses and their toys and blankies were removed, that would mean all that would remain were the bare mattresses on which they slept.
I don't believe they were left alone either. The whole vomit/diaorrea/washing sheets malarkey makes me think they were all in the O'Brien's apartment, with child-minders Jane and Russell 'relieving each other' while the rest of the gang got plastered.

I would tend to agree they were all together, but that way means no abduction so that woukd never do. The checking routine changed that night (more checking supposedly) it does mean that the others definitely know what happened (if they were indeed all in another apartment together)

Re: The missing mattress covers
I do not agree that all the babies were put somewhere together.
That would suggest a degree of care and organisation and also some inconvenience at the end of their evenings of 'into each other' me time.
I just think the lot of them (tapas parents) put themselves first every time and that means chuck the kids into bed with anything that helps them to sleep and its off to the pub time .
The whole 'Holiday' was for adults and the kids were just a nuisance.

Re: The missing mattress covers
O'brians rogatory needs dissecting ...he was forever making it clear that, he could change a child, he could look after a sick child, he could work a washing machine, he could bathe a child...he was forever making it clear in his rogatory after off course the 'secret meeting' that he wanted it made clear about these things and off course he changed his mind to 'did see madeleine' to 'not sure'....he didn't leave his apt till 9.45pm....but we don't hear, which way did he leave , did he see the mccanns apt etc.
Something odd here.

I'm wondeing if the twins slept on the bed under the window with the cots pushed up against it, it would explain:
Why Kate had to explain why the bed was ruffled by saying she slept there (incidentally never mentioning that at least she was in the room with all three children, which one might have thought as I recently read in another post)
Why Gerry made so much in his blog of the twins starting to sleep in a bed
Why both of them in interviews said (I think the Vanity Fair Interview is a good example) that the twins were on a bed
Why I think Phil said Maddie wassleeoing in between the twins
The fact thay most mothers here would know that certainly Sean was too big for a cot.
O yes, it explains the lack of cot sheets too....

Re: The missing mattress covers
Where the twins were actually makes little difference to the fact that Maddie is missing and most likely the parents know why.
We can toy with the mindset of the mccanns and their friends as much as we like but we will keep coming back to the same position.

I don't agree, it could very well be that no kids were left in 5a that night (or any other) and perhaps there was an accident or incident earlier. If you remember sky news were reporting violence was used.Lioned wrote:Where the twins were actually makes little difference to the fact that Maddie is missing and most likely the parents know why.

I suspect it most likely there was an accident earlier and that may be why they wanted things to look as normal as possible. And the twins given something to help them sleep and keep them from asking questions.
