Re: Madeleine McCann police 'hoping to make first arrests'
The Telegraph article on this subject commences by stating, "McCann family spokesman tells newspaper he believes........." etc. etc.
So, just more of what Mitchell "believes".

The only people that can arrest anyone is ....the Portuguese Police.
Have they said their are arrests ....No.
Did SY open the Case.....No.
How can SY arrest anyone when they are just doing a review?
Bullshit as usual.
'Justice works in Silence'......Mr Amaral.

Yes interested and the McCanns see no reason to stop this nonsense, they probably help him prepare it.

I can't understand why SY doesn't put a stop to this family and their "spokesman" and/or "family sources" for supplying the press with this nonsense. Surely, all this is hindering the actual investigation.

Re: Madeleine McCann police 'hoping to make first arrests'
I think DCI Redwood is being sensible, and keeping his head down and his mouth shut. If he is genuinely investigating, with or without detailed help as yet from the Oporto Team, I will still give him the benefit of the doubt. However, no-one can be sure. Remember that useless Crime Watch Update, where Team McCann did their own thing, with yet again the tripey 'curtain woosh' clip in it. Redwood looked decidedly uncomfortable, and when Kirsty Wossname asked him, with incredulity in her voice, about the then current tabloid patsy: 'Black Tractorman' he did not answer. Either it was not a direct one to one conversation, as it purported to be, and his 'bit' was added into the programme, or he simply declined to comment. Overall HE SAID NOTHING, which was exactly the right thing to do in my book, if not in Kate's bewk.

Totally agree with you. There is no reason why we should be given constant updates, even if it is our money. I just hope he is doing what he's being paid for.

They must have shared custody. One week each 'abductor'...
Re: Madeleine McCann police 'hoping to make first arrests'
Well the news of the imminent triple arrest has gone viral and being reported all around the World.
Andy Redwood is on record, more times than i care to remember now,as saying the mccanns are neither of interest nor suspects.
If you build it they will come.At PR school they will teach you to say it often enough and people will believe.
The PR machine is less than convincing in this case and so is Andy Redwood.
I doubt there will be any imminent arrests but i dare say Andy is doing his best to try and look busy.

I have never, ever known any police force to issue "teasers". They go and arrest people based on solid evidence, when the time is right. Anyone actually swallowing this pile of bollox wants their heads examining.

Mail has picked up on it now! Same BS in all of the tabloids.
Also on page 4 of the hard-copy Daily Record - verbatim. It's a pink press release, nothing more.

From Twitter:
Ian Hitchings @IamIanHitchings 26m
@DavidCollinsMir Just spoken to @metpoliceUK press bureau Alan Crockford's assistant. They have no knowledge of the #McCann press-release
I just copied this in case no one knew the source.I think there is a sense of desperation now. If true a Police Officer has refused to testify my guess is it's the SY Policeman who spoke Portugese . Kate phoned him while Gerry was away and she was crying saying she had dreamt Madeleine was buried somewhere. If this Policeman had told Amaral , maybe Amaral is using it in his defence.
It can't get more complicated than this can it.!!1 "Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive"

Thanks Annabel.
And that's all the Met are saying.
No arrests mentioned, no burglars, no difficulties with the Portuguese side of things.
All of the above is rancid Team McCann crap, designed purely to confuse, obfuscate and hamper the joint investigation.

Iris, I don't know how to do the quotes thing, but you are so right. Coppers in the UK DO NOT LEAK WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO DO IN A CASE LIKE THIS. They get on and do it, if and when they can. Even Blacksmith, whom many people have given up on, is saying it is all down to Clazza and TM. I also agree that MSM, which I now know means our mainstream press! are having a ball, and taking the piss for the enjoyment of those who know anything much about this case... and as for those who don't... Well, it still sells papers by the ton.

Re: Madeleine McCann police 'hoping to make first arrests'
This is what I get for going away for a week.
So these are nor Norwegian burglars they are Portuguese burglars in PDL. And we know they are burglars how?
They somehow figured this out - probably from the files the PJ had, of people they'd already interviewed - and now they want to arrest them, because they called each other a lot that night.
Well, if you are burglarizing places and suddenly a ton of cops and tourists are all over the streets, you might want to call each other because it's not going to be a good night to burgle. Could that be a possibility?
I don't see how SY could track the phone records down to three burglars unless someone had already put the phone numbers together with the burglars names or once they tracked the high volume of calls, they were able to find out who had those numbers and then figure out that those people were burglars. It's not something you put on a CV or list as your job description when you buy a phone, so how did they know - without already having involvement of the PJ?

Blacksmith is quite right - the Grauniad have spelled it out! In no uncertain terms! Read for yourself -

No coppers anywhere leak what they are going to do! They all just get on and do it! If these three were the actual ones who had abducted Madeleine, there is no way that they would be haning around Portugal waiting to be interviewed. Just look how the McCanns hot-footed out of Portugal once they became arguidos.
It is wrong for these people to even be considered suspects right now. They could possibly be called persons of interests or persons whom the police would like to question, but surely not suspects. The McCanns just love it though when anyone other than themselves is claimed to be a suspect in the media. Of course any lead that leads away from the McCanns is also considered a "significant" lead no matter how ridiculous the theory may be. And it really doesn't get any more preposterous than three burglars deciding to steal a child!

Re: Madeleine McCann police 'hoping to make first arrests'
The thing about burglars is that they lurk in the shadows, unseen by others. Who knows what they might notice whilst lurking......for that reason they most certainly would be worth interviewing.

Re: Madeleine McCann police 'hoping to make first arrests'
Very good of Clarence to warn them in advance that the cops are seeking their arrest, though.
WTF?
Having TM signal all their moves before they make them will surely get on their nerves.
PJ "falsely treated the parents as suspects" - we'll see.
They pick a funny way of helping the investigation. Per usual.

Re: Madeleine McCann police 'hoping to make first arrests'
From the Express Article:
"Shortly before Madeleine was snatched, an apartment was raided and another child was disturbed.
The youngster’s parents were nearby but the intruder or intruders had fled when they rushed back inside. Identifying the burglars as possible major suspects in the hunt for Madeleine is a key part of the Yard’s investigation, codenamed Operation Grange."
These parents were on their own balcony right outside their apartment, within earshot. Therefore, if Madeleine had been abducted by burglars, it would be the fault of the parents, because had they been in close proximity as these other parents were, then Madeleine would not have been taken.
Agreed, the burglars are worth interviewing, but they should not be referring to them as suspects!

I agree. If they were around that night and prior they'd be good witnesses. Not sure what the sentence for burglary is in Portugal but they were known to be burglars at that time and out of jail - because someone knew that was their line of work.
I think they would be brought in for questioning. And if they had anything to do with it the first one to squeal on the others would probably be offered some kind of deal - at least in the US that is how it works, so you do get confessions. But no one who didn't kill and or kidnap a child is going to cop to that.
Sy needs the PJ to give them permission to question these guys - they want the PJ to go get them and bring them in? Meanwhile SY detective liaison will not testify in the libel trial when called?
They pick a funny way of cooperating
SY is reviewing this or they have opened a case on their end of things? Either way I don't think they can operate in PT without permission and that is not too likely to be offered when the spokesman for McCanns is telling the press that British detectives find the work of the PJ a disgrace, and constantly feeding the press "stories" that trend in that direction.
