Is this supposed to be one of the 3 burglars???? Talk about scraping the barrel....I detect the hand of Clarence in this, just to keep the notion Madeleine was abducted, pathetic.

Apparently you get seven years of bad luck if you smash a Mirror.

The Medium ushered in the 6 detectives from the elite Maddy squad into a small room. They all sat down at a round oak table and linked hands.The Medium lit a single candle and placed it in the middle of the table.Staring at the candle, the Medium called out for a spirit to make themselves known by knocking on the table...nothing was heard. The candle flickered out. A second candle of a pack of four , bought from a Pound shop was lit and the experiment repeated.Still nothing was heard 'cept for a creak of the table and a thud as a bleary-eyed officer slumped over the table, intoxicated , not by the possible presence of a spirit who may have given vital information but from the effects of the Red Bull consumed earlier.The process was repeated four times in all without any success. The Mirror reporter who had been lurking close by finished scribbling in his notepad and gleefully crept away into the dark of the night with news of a breakthrough in the McCann case which would shock the world. Once the officers had finished the last of the ale they called a taxi and headed back to headquarters to fill out their expenses claims.

It gets more and more embarrassing. Years spent bad mouthing the Portuguese police, calling them keystone cops etc, what on earth does that make the UK police then? They make the keystone cops look efficient   

Yes mara_thon, all the name calling by the Press , the Portugese are getting their revenge by not sharing information and watching Redwood make a fool of himself. Cameron and May will be called to account soon I suspect, although to be fair May just wanted a Scope, it was the heartbreak letter to Cameron that triggered the Review. Even so, what made Redwood think there was sufficient evidence to investigate?

It does seem rather ... informal ... doesn't it?

Bet the 'two cops' were journos ......what cops would ask to meet somewhere other than where she lives....they wouldn't phone up either, they would turn up, unannounced .

So, after reading this story about the widow, Mitchell would have us believe that "Tractorman" is the No. 1 Suspect. Unbelievable that Clarence has this kind of influence with the U.K. press. I just don't get it.

that's a point Kitti.  I hope she was paid something for the interview with the media. Interested im wondering what is happening elsewhere for this to be in the papers as number 1 suspect. can it be that this media saturation lately is to try and convince the public that the mccs are not involved, following on from the article which alleged that 80% of calls to crimewatch called for the parents to be arrested. (The source is a posting on here).

The press will never convince me that the "number one suspect" the dead black "tractorman" resembles the e-fit which the McCanns suppressed.

Not unless the cameras exposure was a bit off.

No weissnicht, it will be another suspect from the 38 'persons of interest.' I think the sooner Oporto submit their report , I suspect they already have, and the Portugese act on it , the better. Can you imagine it if after all the silence from the Portugese while SY have been floundering and making fools of themselves the PJ solve the case.
