Cops to fly to Portugal to ask seven suspects 'did you kill Maddie?' - Mirror
"Officers from Operation Grange will spend three days interviewing 11 people, seven suspects and four witnesses...."
"The seven suspects, who will be given arquido status, will be asked a series of 253 questions, including: "Did you kill Madeleine?"
"Detectives are focusing on a white male aged 20 to 40, seen carrying a child fitting Madeleine's description through Praia da Luz about the time she vanished."
My suggestion - why not focus on Rothley.

the particular question listed indicates to me that Operation Grange are looking for a dead Madeleine. end of the fund, surely. have the family commented on this either directly or through their spokesperson.

Is this going to be a total of 253 questions, or the same 253 questions asked of everyone? If the latter, it doesn't sound very specific questioning.
Given the example of Kate, they shouldn't be too surprised if the answers are not very helpful.

It's like that old TV game where a panel asks questions to try and work out which one it is. Then at the end they will say ' will the real abductor please step forward' There you go, solved.

Will they be asking the questions in English or in Portuguese? Just asking.

I would put good money on it that it is not Operation Grange.tanszi wrote:who is telling the media this? and why?

Same story but with some perfidious and "no helpful at all" innuendos like this paragraph:
"Even though they are no longer considered suspects, there has been no proven evidence that anybody entered their rental apartment to abduct just one of their children."
And also:
"According to Goncalo Amaral, who was one of the original detectives in the search for Madeleine McCann, the parents should be the prime suspects. In fact, most of the original evidence in the case points to their involvement, which has led Amaral to believe that they covered up an accidental death of their young daughter. This wouldn’t be a murder, but if they have truly spent the past seven years going along with the idea that some intruder stole their child, then there is clearly some level of criminality taking place. Of course, Scotland Yard’s latest direction seems to indicate the idea that Madeleine was maliciously murdered — perhaps by one of seven British expats."

I would include massive fraud and suggest, instead of flying to Portugal, the cops head north to Rothley.

Not on their agenda, I'm afraid.

I would actually expect these 7 people to fully cooperate, as most likely they have nothing to hide. If they did, they likely would have hot-footed it out of Portugal already. Only those who are hiding something do not cooperate with police questioning, particularly when that questioning has to do with the disappearance of their own daughter.

"....the line of questioning involves looking for the girl's killer."
So the Mirror and Inquisitr are both going with "murder" not accidental death. Makes a change from abducted.

So that totally 'blows' Amarals "He hindered the search for Madeleine" out of the water then?? This is purely coincidental of course, and I'm sure that the kind, honest Mr Amaral who's life has been honey and wine for the past 7 years won't settle out of court? Effing Bastards!

After seven and one-half years we are finally hearing that Madeleine is considered dead. Maybe now is the time to look again at what Eddie and Keela alerted to. I wonder what the people who donated to the search fund are thinking after listening to the McCanns plead for funds to continue the search - to say nothing about the UK taxpayers who are funding this travesty.

Exactly. Bet they don't though. Those dogs have been right on the alerts they have given both in this case and other cases. If they are now going with murder then surely the fund is fraud and any money they still have should be removed and given to a real charity.

Now that the press have mentioned 'death', I wonder what affect this will have on the McCanns' annual Christmas appeal for $$$ to fund the search. Are they still buying Christmas gifts for her to store in her room waiting for her return? After seven years that room must be filled with all the birthday and Christmas gifts which have accumulated since her departure.
