Deadly Ebola Outbreak In Guinea And Spreading

Just announced, the Spanish Priest who was air-lifted to a Spanish Hospital has died even though he was being treated with the drug.
Maybe at 63 years of age he was too weak to recover, but there is concern now because he mixed with so many people .

EBOLA DEATH TOLL HAS REACHED 1013 AND INFECTED IS OVER 1800.
IVORY COAST HAS BANNED FLIGHT FROM THE 3 AFFECTED COUNTRIES.
NIGERIA HAS 10 CASES.

I think it has been agreed that the WHO is to send 1,000 doses of the ZMapp drug to the 4 Countries most affected.

The UNICEF Rep in Liberia says the Ebola crisis will take at least 6 months to bring under control, latest deaths are now 1,145, villages are being
targetted to burn mattresses, etc and try to persuade the viillagers to be more hygeinic

The Firm that makes the Zmapp drug is caught between a rock and a hard place.The WHO is saying the drug has not been tested enough but the Doctors and Governments are saying the Doctor in America is still improving so that should be sufficient to use the drug which is in short supply now anyway..

They are saying it's very unlikely she has it but she has come from one of the affected countries so who knows!

Give them the drugs, they'll probably only die anyway. At least with the drug they might stand a chance.

Hi Angelina.....problem is, apparently the Firm that produces it is not at the conveyor belt stage ....who will pay for this Drug, the WHO? the Governments affected ? What if the Doctor in the U.S. has a relapse ? These are big decisions and in the meantime the deaths are increasing

Well, the world can't sit here fiddling while Ebola gets a grip. Someone needs to find the money. If the Dr relapses so be it. It's probably still the best chance of survival for most of them.

I think Ebola will eventually be controlled but I do feel that with all the fighting in other parts of the world, we are not far from WW3 or some sort of major event involving several countries.

Just been on the BBC that an ebola treatment centre in Monrovia, capital of Liberia, has been attacked! 29 patients have run off, eyewitnesses say it was "an apocalypse".

You wouldn't believe that there were people that stupid, but apparently there are. I was watching a documentary about Chernobyl the other night. Some stupid people actually went in there not long after the fire and started looting the houses that were left empty, and of course they all caught radiation sickness. Some consequently suffered horrible, painful deaths.

I think the population of the Countries involved is making the situation worse, if this outbreak was in any Western Country the residents would adhere to the hygiene routine for starters , that's the main cause of the spread.

The Company that produces Zmapp has said they cannot produce hundreds yet so the priority will be the Doctors who are in the front line. Will we witness panic from those who have been infected????
