If Madeleine's remains are found, I hope that when they are examined, they are examined by Portuguese Forensic Scientists. We know what happened when a British Forensic Scientist, examined the evidence of Eddie and Keela and if I'm not mistaken, the wife of one of the scientists, was a mate of Kate McCann.
While I hope Madeleine is not dead, if she is dead then I hope she is buried in that scrubland. Once her remains have been examined, she needs to given a decent funeral.

Re: The Latest From Joana Morais
Kate and Gerry McCann held a secret meeting with the rest of the "Tapas Nine" amid reports that Portuguese police are coming to Britain to re-interview them, it was revealed yesterday.
The friends met last month for the first time since the McCanns' four-year-old daughter Madeleine vanished in Portugal seven months ago.
They were all dining with the couple in a tapas bar near the holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, where Madeleine was sleeping with two-year-old twin brother and sister Sean and Amelie.
Portuguese police were furious about the meeting. A source close to the investigation claimed it was "highly suspicious" that they had met up to "talk tactics".
Detectives are said to be awaiting formal clearance to come to Britain and question the nine again about alleged discrepancies in their statements.
But the couple's spokesman Clarence Mitchell denied that the nine had gathered to square their accounts before a police visit.
He said the emotional reunion "a few weeks ago" at a hotel near the couple's home in Rothley, Leics "was just to discuss the overall situation.
"They weren't comparing notes or doing anything untoward. It was an operational meeting to discuss what might be coming up in the next few weeks.
"They are in touch all the time by phone and emails anyway but decided to meet face to face. They were together for a few hours and discussed the overall position. They wanted to see each other because they hadn't done so for some time."
He added: "It was a private meeting and I therefore don't want to say more about it."
The other seven members of the party are heart specialist Dr David Payne, 41, his doctor wife Fiona, 34, hospital consultant Dr Russell O'Brien, 36, his partner Jane Tanner, 37, endocrinologist Dr Matthew Oldfield, 37, and wife Rachael, 36, and Dr Payne's mother Dianne Webster.
They are key witnesses who gave police crucial evidence supporting the couple's belief that Madeleine was kidnapped.
Jane Tanner claims to have seen a man carrying a small child in pink pyjamas like Madeleine's away from the flat. Three have given statements claiming they saw Robert Murat, the first official suspect, outside the apartment - though he claimed he was at home with his mother.
A friend of the couple claimed the meeting gave the lie to a rumour that some of the party had fallen out with the McCanns and were preparing to change their statements.
The source said: "It was a show of solidarity under police claims that one or two had wanted to change their stories. That is not the case and the meeting showed that.
"It was a meeting to express support by the friends and just to see each other again. They hadn't all seen each other for months."
The friend said the reunion last month was kept secret because of the huge interest it would have generated.
The McCanns were officially made suspects on September 7 by Portuguese police, who believed they accidentally killed Madeleine and hid her body. Some detectives are said to have suspected that some or all of the seven helped cover up the crime.
A furious Portuguese police source said: "This meeting is highly suspicious.
"The McCanns left Portugal and flew home the moment they were made suspects and refused to answer many key questions about what had happened.
"Now, they and their friends are about to be re-interviewed and it is revealed they have met up in secret in a hotel.
"The McCanns are suspects and their friends are witnesses who could soon also have arguido (official suspect) status. They should not be meeting to discuss the case and certainly not the evidence."

That above is what people like us are up against.
I don't think fir one minute they will find her body there.
Two weeks to search, dig and use radar.
No.....this is just a 'exercise' to prove a point.

Re: The Latest From Joana Morais
McCann search lacks commitment and direction, expert claims
Wednesday 4th June 2014
● CRIME WORLDBy Donal MacIntyre0
Maddie McCann search "lacks direction and focus", claims cold case expert.
Officers searching scrubland around the Praia da Luz resort for the body of Maddie McCann, or a clue to her whereabouts, are still shooting in the dark, cold case specialist Alan Bailey told the Sunday World.
The former head of the Irish Cold Case unit claims that the Metropolitan Police search is far to wide and lacking direction and demonstrates a lack of commitment to the case, exclusively claims today. The search by over 30 UK officers started on Monday and is due to end on Friday and is scheduled to include three parcels of land within a mile of the resort where Maddie disappeared has been criticised for a lack direction after the Metropolitan Police Force has come up with a litany of competing theories as to how Maddie disappeared in 2007
“A four day search on a four acre site including 12 different sites designated for specific ground radar searches , shows a lack of commitment. Either you are going to search the area fully and completely, or you are not. If you can exclude the scrubland and potential burial sites or areas where clothing of evidence may have been discarded within a square kilometer of the apartment where she was last seen, then it becomes a very different type of crime”, Bailey, an eminent cold case investigator, told the Sunday World.
The ground radar machinery which has been used by the Sunday World cold case team can only search small areas to a depth that makes sense on this landscape which is about four metres deep. It is unlikely that a body or any evidence would be buried any deeper. It also requires a great deal of time to crunch the numbers as they try isolate relevant anomalies under the ground which may indicate where something is hidden or indeed was hidden.
There is some dispute on the range of the ground being searched but it is nonetheless a rather widespread search ground but with only 12 small sites being targeted for underground radar it is hard to exclude the area - a mound - a short walk from a man was seen carrying a child around ten pm on the night she disappeared.
One reporter on the ground said that it took him five minutes to run around the search site.
It seems unlikely this limited search overt a wide area will even succeed in excluding the site as a potential burial site.
Any ground disturbance indicating a burial site would have been much more visible in the days after Maddie disappeared when there was an extensive search of the mound site.
The specialist says that if she was abducted by a fixated preferential paedophile in an opportunist way, then local scrubland would be a place to abuse and get rid of evidence but this was extensively searched and crisscrossed seven years ago.
“Most of these kind of abductions are really wrong place, wrong time, and so, an opportunist predator could have spotted Maddie leaving her apartment searching for her mother, and snatched her immediately. These offenders don’t need much planning because they are always looking for an configuration of events to make their escape and snatch”, he said.
“An offender needs the child to present themselves, be lost and alone, for example. The environment must be suitable with a lack of CCTV cameras, and a lack of witnesses or potential witness is the third requirement of the opportunist snatch. If a full search of these sites were conducted then we could exclude this and concentrate on the more planned kidnap and snatch by a gang of paedophiles which is always the more unlikely scenario”, he said.
The investigator says that the Gardai would not have opened up the possibility of a breakthrough on the basis of such a wide search over such a short time. “We would have simply had an open ended search and not finished until we were confident that all the work was done and it cannot be done in four days after a gap of nearly seven years”, Bailey said.
The experience of the Gardai and the PSNI in the search for the disappeared from the troubles, has given these forces an expertise in searching for missing bodies and lost evidence.
“ We know from the disappeared that even when there are tip offs about the locations from those who actually, perpetrated the crimes then it is still very hard to find the bodies so this seems a very unrealistic and overly ambitious search by the Metropolitan Police", he said.
Despite indications of a breakthrough in the case, it is quite clear that the use of spades, pitch forks and some ground penetrating radar across three sites, one of which is over 15 acres of which four acres has been sealed off.
It appears that the Police are looking for a needle in a haystack and are no further in tracking down any predator or finding our what has happened to Maddie.
One source close to the new investigators spoke of the concern among the team that the Met has made very little breakthrough despite the investment of more than 30 full time officers and nearly €10m in the investigation, Operation Grange, which was kick started in 2011 after the intervention of the British Prime Minister.
Police sources say that search locations have been pinpointed by geographic crime profilers.
The sites were based on the distance that a child could have walked from apartment 5a where she disappeared from, or the distance where she could have been carried by a predator, and then perhaps abused or killed.
The investigators will be looking for either a piece of clothing or a body.
This line of enquiry suggests that the new investigators are unhappy with the quality of the original search but also that the new investigators, along with the original Portuguese Police team, believe that Maddie is no longer alive.
The McCann’s have long ignored this possibility understandably, but statistically; victims of child abductions are likely to be killed within days of kidnap.
“Victims of child abductions statistically are unlikely to survive the first 48 hours and the younger they are the more likely they are to be killed earlier. Those rare cases where abductees survive to be sex slaves are typically much, much older”, Professor David Wilson told the Sunday World.

Good morning Tanszi, I remember reading an article on an AOL forum, where the McCanns wanted the evidence found in their apartment, examined by a British Forensic Scientist of their choice. The article stated that the wife of the scientist was a friend of Kate McCann's.

Re: The Latest From Joana Morais
This article states that forensic specialists hired by the McCanns, carried out their own investigations into evidence that was supposedly found in the car. They concluded that no traces of Madeleine's hair, body fluid and blood, were found in the car. There's a surprise (not).

I'm still looking for the article regarding Kate McCann's friend being the wife of a Forensic Scientist, who examined evidence found in the McCanns apartment.

Hope no one is getting the wrong idea here, im not questioning Joanna or the validity of it, but surely a friend or an acquaintance or someone known in any capacity should recuse themselves from any part of the investigation. surely it should be someone totally independent, from another country, but not Amsterdam.

Hi Kitti
So does that mean that the McCanns never had the car tested, after Portuguese Forensic Scientists, found evidence of Madeleine's demise in the car? If that's the case, I wonder where the information that the McCanns had the car tested, came from.

If my memory is correct, John Geraghty looked after the car for them. It was said to be because they wanted to have independent tests done but I don't recall ever hearing any more about whether the tests were carried out or any results.

Hi Chrissie
Sorry to appear a bit thick, but does this mean that the information in the link below, which states that the car was tested by forensic specialists hired by the McCanns, is untrue?

At the leveson enquiry Kate Mccann said that their was NO DNA off Madeleine in the hired car.
She had every opportunity to hold up a piece off written proof in front off millions off people to disprove the dogs....she didnt.

Re: The Latest From Joana Morais
All I was doing was providing links to say the car was tested, like everyone else I can't prove it was or it wasn't tested.
For what it's worth I believe the dogs were 100% correct with their findings in the McCanns apartment, in the car and wherever else they found evidence that Madeleine had lost her life. This is why I believe this search in PDL is nothing but a whitewash.
I'll repeat what I said in another thread, if Redwood was genuinely interested in whatever happened to Madeleine, he would have made a request to Portugal, to take the McCanns into custody. They are the only two people who the PJ can categorically state, played a part in Madeleine's disappearance.
If the McCanns were speaking the truth, when they said Madeleine disappeared while they were out, why did they feel the need to lie and hinder the case at every opportunity? Why did they not search for Madeleine and why did they not ensure that the GNR were telephoned, immediately Kate McCann raised the alarm?
Shock can't be the reason why the McCanns didn't ensure the GNR were contacted, because they were very much in control of the situation, when they used the blank pages of Madeleine's sticker book, to sort out their timelines with their mates and they were still in control of the situation when they made phone calls to everyone they could think of, who would help to save their own skins, starting with the British Government.
By the way, I'm only expressing my opinion.

Nothing in your post or anyone else's post has made me believe I was being questioned, I just wanted to say that I believe the evidence of Eddie and Keela.
Then I used my post as an opportunity to vent my spleen at the McCanns.

Hi Malena
The same Brian Kennedy who hired the McCanns dodgy detectives and paid 'Pinky' Mitchell handsomely, to lie through his teeth for the McCanns. I wouldn't be surprised if Kennedy's wife was behind Kennedy's decision to stop paying Pinky's' salary.
Mrs Kennedy, must have been furious, when she saw how much money her husband was paying, to keep the McCanns out of More to the point she must have wondered why he was paying this money to keep them out of
