In total three suspects are understood to be inside Faro police hq as part of questioning process now.

#Madeleine One suspect has been given 253 questions to answer. Scot Yard joint theories: sex motive or robbery that went wrong.

253 questions, eh?
Hope that witness has brought some sandwiches with him ...
As for the aforementioned 'joint theories' - I'd hybridise them:
A sex motive that went wrong.
That's been one of my two main theories for seven years.

Even if these "suspects" or whatever they are calling them now, are responsible for what happened to Madeleine, that still doesn't explain the gung-ho attitude of the Mccanns and their co-horts. If they weren't responsible and these new lot are, wouldn't you be screaming from the roof tops and want them strung up by their whatsits?

Make Kate's 48 unanswered ones seem pretty insignificant.

So is the "young man" the one who is alleged to have claimed he killed MM (when he was about 15 or 16) while attacking his girlfriend.
The list doesn't sound particularly ground breaking or much to show for our £6 odd million.

Thanks for the information, almostgothic
When the McCanns apartment was searched, there was no evidence of an abduction and the photographs suggest there was no robbery either. Can anyone see evidence of a robbery in the photographs, because I can't. When I look at Madeleine's bed, it doesn't look as if it had been slept in.

I like to think the PJ have another agenda for questioning these people and the agenda is, to prove to Deadwood that the only people who should be persons of interest to Deadwood and his team, are the McCanns and their mates. I feel sorry for the Portuguese taxpayers, whose hard earned taxes, will be paying for this fiasco.
I hope the PJ are allowed to bring this fiasco to a close, sooner than later. I would hate to see them take part in something that will result in an innocent person, taking the rap for something the McCanns and their mates should be taking the rap for.
I don't believe the PJ would willingly take part in a corrupt investigation, the only way they would do that, is if a higher authority, forces them to do that. In other words, members of the Portuguese and British Governments are behaving in the same way that they behaved, when Goncalo Amaral and his team were investigating the case.

I think it's very nice of these burglars to wait for SY and the PJ and not legg it. After all, this has been anounced weeks ago already.

Don't know about burglars, if they had had anything to do with Madeleine, they would have cleared out of PDL years ago.

HMG and SY are embarrassing themselves and what was once acknowledged as the Gold Standard for justice and crime detection.
Why not put the pressure on their tapas friends, who 'made a pact of silence'?
Worried that the truth may come out?

i wonder if the person or persons who has to answer 253 questions says no comment to 252 of them and if you think so to the 253. I wonder if they will be accused of hindering the search for Madeleine.

Four suspects have arrived at Faro Police station on the Algarve for questioning over the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
The suspects, set to be quizzed by local police in the presence of Scotland Yard officers, are said to be three Portuguese nationals and Russian computer expert Sergey Malinka, whose Praia da Luz home was searched by police shortly after Madeleine went missing in May 2007.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Redwood arrived just before 9am today to lead a team of around half a dozen Scotland Yard officers in.

A transit van with colleagues inside drove straight through the back gate into a covered car park sealed off from public view.
Mr Malinka, one of the suspects, told a Portuguese paper which named him today as one of the four so-called arguidos: 'I'm going to have to talk first with my lawyer.'
Eight other people, thought to be mainly former workers at the Ocean Club holiday resort where Madeleine McCann vanished during a family holiday, are also due to be questioned as witnesses.
The police questioning is expected to last until Friday.
British police officers, pictured, are also in Faro where they will observe the questioning being carried out by local police
Scotland Yard are working on the theory burglars killed Madeleine during a bungled break-in while her parents ate tapas nearby with friends
It comes less than three weeks after police dug up waste land near the Ocean Club and inspected sewers using a hi-tech camera over nearly a fortnight in a grim search for Madeleine's body.
The search and this week's police quizzes have happened at the request by Operation Grange detectives leading the British hunt for Madeleine.

Portuguese papers claimed this morning the witnesses and suspects identified by the British police are of no interest to the Portuguese police, who believe Madeleine was snatched by a foreigner no longer in the country.
Daily Jornal de Noticias said British police had brought sniffer dogs used in the Praia da Luz ground searches earlier this month back to Portugal with them - but it was not clear if new searches would be conducted.

Mr Malinka was quizzed first time round but not made an arguido at that time. He has previously denied any role in the youngster's disappearance.
He is an acquaintance of Robert Murat, who had also been an arguido but ceased to be a suspect in July 2008.
Mr Malinka said in 2007 when computers and computer disks were taken from his home during searches: 'The disappearance of a child is always difficult. No parent would want any of that to happen to anyone.
'So I wish and truly hope that Madeleine will be found and returned to her parents.
'I have a clear conscience. I have nothing to worry about.'

I think they are looking for Mr. 'Rent a fridge'.
Well one would hope so anyway.
More likely they have 'found' their connection to the Russian Olygog.

I've read the people who are of no interest to the Portuguese police are answering questions. Unlike Kate McCann, "a foreigner no longer in the country" who refused to answer 48 questions about the "disappearance" of her own daughter.

To Tanzi....
The nice childless one that now has Maddie.
SY will wrap this up some time later this year as they have found no body or evidence Maddie was harmed. The Gypsy friend of the Dead German peado sold her to the Russian Olygog.
That is the most likely outcome and exonerates the mccanns who can continue to draw from the fund for their private travels.

Yes but the McCanns still know that a large proportion of the country won't believe it. Unless she is eventually found alive (which we know won't happen), then the mud will stick. I personally don't care if they have money to spend on the back of it.....I'd rather have my children close. Money would bring me no satisfaction if I had lost a child. It's the twins I feel sorry for . I predict big problems with then in the future. They won't come out of this unscathed sadly.
