School bus radio
With such bad news around the World I feel reluctant to post anything today but when Kate mentioned Sean hearing Goncalo Amaral on the school bus I thought it was just another fairy tale.
Firstly coz GA doesn't speak English but secondly coz there are rules about broadcast receiving radios in a public place.
Licences are required for radios playing in a business premises. There are 2 types , a PRS and a PPL, and 1 , 2 or both may be required.
Heres a quick pointer...

If the bus hasn't registered with the local council, it may show that the bus hadn't got a broadcast receiving radio fitted. Either way checks should be made to verify claims which Kate made under oath in Court.
Aren't stories from the children Hearsay, anyway?

Re: School bus radio
Good point, I used to work in a small shop in Ireland, the owner was aware of this....CDs allowed but no radio (couldn't get reception anyway)!
Public transport here usually has music but not local radio...classical or flamenco depending on the whim of the driver.
With the usual hubbub on a school bus I doubt any kid is listening to the news. i.m.o.

Re: School bus radio
Not that I believe the latest in Kate's long line of porkies but, clearly if a comment from G Amaral was broadcast, it would not be him personally speaking in Portuguese, but a translation read by someone else.
So yes it is possible for someone to have heard such a comment on a bus.

I used to work for a transport company running coaches and chauffer cars and our work was mainly private hire for sports teams, aircrew transfers and days to the races etc. However, we would do school runs (which the drivers absolutely hated and detested as they were not that used to it) when a request came in from a school/council for help and we would sub-contract our vehicles/drivers out to the council. All of our vehicles had radio/tv/video/kitchens/tachographs etc. And all licences were obtained and in order - as you rightly say it is the law.
So yes, Sean could have heard an account of what Mr Amaral was claiming, which is what I think it was - just an account which had been translated. However, as I've said before, the fact that Sean does not appear to have asked anything else about it beggers belief. He must have been bullied, teased, poked fun at etc by the other pupils, who can be cruel when one of their classmates' families hit the headlines for the right or wrong reasons. Kids are like that, arn't they?

Re: School bus radio
I'm rather inclinded to think maybe another child heard this on the radio at home at home and repeated it 'on the school bus'. a little misleading maybe.

Re: School bus radio
In any case shouldn't it be the radio station that is sued and not Mr Amaral. In this case.

Neither do I Marathon, I think the McCanns have made this up, hoping they'll tug at the heart strings of the Judge. Don't get me wrong Sean and Amelie, will no doubt be hearing stuff in the playground, from children who are repeating what their parents are saying.
The children will also be hearing derogatory comments about Goncalo Amaral and I wouldn't be surprised if they've also heard their mother calling Goncalo Amaral a f***ing tosser. Their father quite happily used the 'F' word, in front of all the children on the airport bus, so if he can be comfortable using that word in front of his and his mates children in public, he along with his wife, will have no problem in using foul language, behind closed doors.
His foul mouthed wife, proudly declared in public, that she'd wrote her book for her children. I can only imagine how Sean and Amelie will feel, when they read read passages about their parents non existent sex life and Madeleine's perfect little genitals torn apart. By the time the children read the book, they will know that the book is just a pack of lies, and was written to boost the egos of their mother and father.

Same here and it is disgusting that she has dragged poor Sean into her mess.

Re: School bus radio
Kate is quoted as saying that she thinks he must have heard it on the bus - so it isn't certain even in her festering mind that he did.

Re: School bus radio
Nor me!
Plus, anyone who has ever travelled on a school bus will know the racket a group of little ones make!
Unless that radio was blaring, there is no way Sean would hear it, imo.

Re: School bus radio
There is no way that the twins can have a "normal" childhood or grow up to be "normal" after what their parents have been doing for the past almost 8 years. It´s to be hoped that Sean doesn´t turn into a Jeremy Bamber type person. The way the Mccanns use their remaining children as tools and levers is nothing short of abuse, absolutely disgraceful.
