The blue Tories took us into Iraq bottled it and then lent on the red Tories to go in and finish the job. World politics is now a volcanic eruption with disasters everywhere. So called Muslims landing in Sicily announcing they want a better life and a 3 bed semi in high Wycombe before even spending time camped in Calais.
You can't blame em ! They risk their lives drowning and eaten by aquatic vultures but can you blame the 'English' for not wanting them here ?
Human beings are entitled to live as best as they can.

Dont you agree ?

So you dont like Blacks and you dont like Muslims ! Why then are you still here to moan about it !

Good morning badboy.

I had intended to stay up to watch it through to the bitter end. I possibly had a Cardhu too many though, because my government found me asleep in the chair about 3.45am. I know I was still watching at about the time you made your post. She suggested that I may as well retire (At least that was the gist of it, once I had put on my ear defenders)

As it is the results are in for Farage and I see Milliband and Clegg have resigned as leaders of their parties. I think it may be a mistake, but it seems we are back on the same old two party treadmill. with the SNP ready to bring about a new referendum on Scottish independence. That will reduce us to an effective one party treadmill among other things.

Still, we did what we had to do as millions of others did and at least for the next 5 years we have to live with it.

Good morning katertaif,
Try as I might, I couldn't drum up the spirit to sit through the night watching and listening to the often times biased pundits talk me through who was going to take the keys to No.10... I knew that I'd be among the millions paying their rates whoever's name was on the rentbook..

One good point is the glove puppet Miliband's dream of a Labour government never came to fruition, also the SNP have all but destroyed the Scottish Labour movement. I see he has done the world a favour and stepped down from the position as leader of the Party. perhaps we'll get someone taking over who's rear end doesn't fit the hand of the TU movement.... (If I'm allowed to say that).

I would never have said this back when John Smith was the Labour leader, but had he not died Blair and his ilk could never have destroyed the true meaning of the Labour movement and created his 'New Labour'. How many millions have died and are still set to die fighting or terrorised as a result of Blair's arrogance, stupidity and duplicity?

On the plus side, perhaps even with a small majority Cameron will be able to push through policies which Clegg and his self gratifying cronies would have stifled. Hopefully though, he will abide by his promises to the electorate and give us the referendum on continued EU membership....

Good evening old son. I am still very sceptical about this apparently promised referendum. For two reasons. I believe Cameron chose his words extremely carefully. Following successful renegotiation of our relationship with the budding United States of Europe, we would be offered an in out choice. Angela Merkel standing next to Cameron appeared to pour cold water on that by saying Europe would in effect not compromise with us at all. Bearing in mind that with the East European States and the Balkan states, we are vastly outnumbered in any vote. Now if there are no "successful" renegotiations the overwhelming likelihood is that we would vote to get out. Cameron doesn't want that and I don't think we would stand for a rerun as the Irish did some time ago so I fear they would cobble up some kind of rigmarole designed to fool us into thinking we had won something when we hadn't , so it would be worth staying in. That in itself would be fraudulent.

The second reason is that in order to make a rational, informed choice we would need a period of rational informed Frank, open, and honest debate on the matter. That is something I do not believe we would get from the BBC, or indeed the Trade Unions, and at least some companies, with vested interests. For example we are told we would lose out in trade. Why would that be? I don't want to be constantly told we would lose trade, I want it explained. While they are at it they might try to explain why it is that we have an overall trade deficit with the EU and just how that position could be worse. They might also try to explain why Billions are poured into those previously communist countries, now suffering from decayed infrastructure, and unashamedly joining the EU for what they can get out of it (and us) Apart from that I think that the results of the election yielding only 1 seat for UKIP despite some 5 million votes are the best advert for PR. yet.

Seems a great number of possibly UKIP voters decided quite late to stick with the Tories to keep Labour out.Aside from Scotland which is going through an exceptional period,Labour have been well and truly sussed. No coincidence that the Labour strongholds are those inner City areas which are Ethnically diverse.Labour actually did quite well in London.
Both Bliar and Brown knew where their future votes would come from and Milliband lost the plot, not entirely his own fault.Labour could recover to some extent in Scotland but most likely the next Labour PM is still at primary school !

Hello Joyce , to be honest I think that Blair sold our sovereignty rights with the Lisbon Treaty. He thought by doing this he stood a good chance of being EU President. Some other countries did not sign up for as much as we did but picked what they wanted. In any case whatever they signed up for, some like France do what they like anyway with no reprimand or fine. We follow it all to the letter and if they think that we step a fraction out of line, they are on us like a ton of bricks. That is my take on it anyway.

WHOM WILL WIN 2015 ELECTION? - Page 2 680495

Good evening Badboy. It appears that like thee and me, others think the consistent results of the pollsters, are while not necessarily suspicious at least why is it that possibly tens of thousands of pounds have been poured into something that turned out not to be worth the paper it was written on. I understand an enquiry is going to be held over it. More money - taxpayers money. We can only hope that unlike the Levison enquiry it wont take nearly so long, or be nearly so expensive, and above all come out with some credible answers. At the moment for example we all know why people are disconnected from politics, but no one wants to come out and say it. This to me makes it all the more surprising that UKIP lost so heavily.

One of the pollsters - Survation - claimed it had the figures spot on but because every on else was saying something else they decided not to publish them. Seems they had little faith in their own methodology.

Good evening Joyce. I'd like to agree with you but bearing in mind that the Common Market. European Union/ United States of Europe is a Franco German brainchild. We wouldn't get very far at all. In it's simplest form that is what it is, a Franco German cartel with them as the main beneficiaries. - Charles de Gaulle nailed his colours to the mast though, and openly did not want us in the fledgeling United States of Europe. Oh yes they all knew what it was destined to become, especially Heath when he offered a referendum, based on the wrong question being asked.

Then if we look at Trade, which the so called pundits agree we would lose out on it becomes silly. We already have a massive trade deficit with the other members quite apart from the literal Billions we pay to remain within the fold. Plus the reconstruction costs of the former communist states. It was supposed to be a mutual trade organisation with untold benefits to members. Money however speaks to the French. If you go back to the Falklands war, France was the very first country to ally itself with us while blithely fulfilling a contract for Exocet Missiles which granted were routed through Chile, but the French knew exactly who the end user was to be. You may also ask how the Argentinian fleet of Super Etendard bombers were serviced.

More recently there have been deals for Nuclear power stations, and quite recently France accepted a multi Billion dollar contract to supply Rafale Fighters. It all adds up to a very unequal partnership notwithstanding the Agricultural grants which are most beneficial to France.

I certainly agree with that one Joyce.

Having lived in Sedgefield during the Blair years, and having a very good friend who was the Lady Mayoress. (labour of course) I have to say, I believe Blair had it planned all along; for himself that is. After he stepped down and gave the poisoned chalice to Brown. He made tens of thousands a night on his after dinner speeches. I do seriously believe that was the idea all along.

It may mean nothing but the lady Mayoress of whom I spoke was a crony, until suddenly overnight, he had no more use for her. Possibly coincidence but a Midddlesbrough councillor (also a crony) got the same cold shoulder literally overnight.
