Daisja Weaver - killed by parents Alandus Weaver & Tamaira Creagh
ALERT DETAILS
Name: Daisja Weaver
Last Seen: June 09 at 11:30 p.m.
Last Location: Dallas
Date of birth: Sept. 10, 2008
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Brown
Race: Black
Height: 2 feet 4 inches tall
Weight: 20 pounds
Gender: Female
Daisja Weaver was reported missing from her home about 12 hrs after her mother says she was attacked by an intruder. The mother says the man tried to rape her, but she fought him off, and he then kidnapped her baby. The issuance of the amber alert was delayed due to the fact that it did not meet the criteria. The mother does not have a clear description of the attacker, other than to say that he was wearing a red and black hoodie.
The 20-year-old mother told officers that someone snatched her baby from the far North Dallas apartment in the 5800 block of Preston Oaks Road at about midnight.
She said the man tried to sexually assault her and that she fought him off, police said. They said the woman reported that the intruder grabbed 9-month-old Daisja Weaver, who was sleeping in a car seat, and took off.
Officer Kevin Janse said the department decided to issue the alert around noon after investigators thoroughly interviewed the child's parents.
"It's been a long, drawn-out investigation and interview and we feel right now is the time we need to start bringing the public into it," Janse said.
Janse said the kidnapping report initially did not meet the criteria needed to activate an Amber Alert because the mother hadn't provided a detailed description of the suspect and because the parents' stories were inconsistent.
He said search teams were using specially-trained dogs and helicopters, among other means, to locate the infant. "We're utilizing every resource we have," Janse said. "We're trying desperately to locate this child."
Janse said the parents were not suspects and that they were cooperating with police.
The mother was taken to Medical City Hospital for treatment following the reported attack and was later interviewed by investigators, police said.
The father, who was not at home at the time of the attack, was also questioned, according to police.
Investigators said the family was in the middle of moving to a new home.
Update: $10,000 reward is offered in case of missing Daisja.

Just as I thought. I googled the baby's name and came up with this.
http://www.examiner.com/x-12837-US-Headlines-Examiner~y2009m6d15-Daisja-Weaver-Parents-arrested-mom-says-dad-killed-Daisja
Daisja Weaver was reported kidnapped on June 10, 2009, and although deputies had conflicting information, they decided to issue an Amber Alert. Now, Daisja’s father, Alandus Weaver, and mother, Tamaira Creagh are arrested in connection to the 9 month old’s murder.
Tamaira Creagh, 19, spoke with detectives on Saturday, June 13, 2009, and apparently told detectives that Alandus picked her up from work, without Daisja. When Tamaira came home, she found Daisja deceased, and when she questioned the baby’s father, Alandus Weaver as to what had happened to Daisja while under his care, he become angry, agitated, violent, and spoke to Tamaira in a threatening manner. Tamaira states that Alandus told her that they needed to have the same story and that is where the kidnapping story came into play. It’s interesting to note that in the kidnapping version, Alandus Weaver was nowhere near the apartment complex when the alleged kidnapping took place.
Tamaira Creagh stated to deputies that the baby was tied to a sandbag and tossed into the Lewisville Lake. Tamaira Creagh is 6 months pregnant with another of Alandus Weaver’s children. Even with the new information, the Amber Alert for Daisja is still active and deputies continue to search for a live child. Their focus, however, has turned to the Lewisville Lake, based upon the information provided by Tamaira Creagh. A search warrant was executed at the apartment homes where the couple were moving from and moving in. Ten items were retrieved, including a onesies baby outfit that had red stains.

Father of Missing Baby Charged With Capital Murder
Thu, Jul 9, 2009
A father who allegedly lied about his 9-month-old daughter being kidnapped last month has been charged with capital murder, Dallas police said.
Alandus Weaver, 20, and Tamaira Creagh, 19, originally told police their daughter Daisja was kidnapped June 9, after Creagh fought off a sexual assault inside their apartment in the 5800 block of Preston Oaks.
Weaver has since told investigators that Daisja drowned as he was giving her a bath and that he and Creagh panicked and made up the kidnapping story.
Police doubted the couple's story from the beginning and were slow about issuing an Amber Alert. On June 13, Creagh confessed to police that Daisja died in Weaver's care and that she later accompanied him as he tied a sandbag to the baby's body and threw her over a bridge into Lake Lewisville.
Police arrested Weaver the same day, and arrested Creagh on June 15, both on charges of tampering with evidence.
Dallas police canceled the Amber Alert and suspended their search for Daisja at Lake Lewisville on June 18.
Creagh, who is six months pregnant with Weaver's child, bonded out of jail the same morning the search was called off. Her attorneys released a statement calling her a victim of domestic abuse who was forced to participate in the cover-up.

Soon after 9-month-old Daisja Weaver went missing, her father told her mother she should not have signed anything to let police inside their new apartment because there was blood inside, Dallas police say.
The father, 20-year-old Alandus Weaver, was talking to the mother, 19-year-old Tamaira Creagh in a "very threatening manner," according to a search warrant affidavit by detectives seeking to search the apartment on Marsh Lane on Wednesday.
Two detectives overheard the conversation, the affidavit says. It is not clear how much the father's alleged statements helped precipitate his arrest over the weekend.
In the affidavit, police stated they wanted to search the apartment for the baby, blood or other evidence of injury to a child. Read on for an inventory of what police say they found, some of which police say had red stains on it...
Here's what police say they seized:
Red bath towel
Stained baby outfit "Gerber onesies" from kitchen pantry trash
White "George Stretch" Ladies XS shirt
fitted sheet from bed "Queen Mainstays" brand w/ Red stains
blanket comforter
Pillow case
"Graco" crib mattress pad from crib
"Graco" crib frame
Pillow case
Pink baby bath towel "Carters child of Mine"
"Graco" car safety seat
Baby blanket, yellow and blue, "Dolly" brand

I remember when this happened and seeing the interviews on TV. Dallas is the nearest local news station to me. It was so sad to see the grandparents interviewed on TV. You could tell they were in shock that the creatures they had raised could do such a thing. Even after the police knew the baby had been thrown into Lake Lewisville, it took days to find her. So very sad. RIP Daisja.
