The financial report

One of the requests PJ has made to British Police was a detailed check about the financial situation of the McCann couple and their seven friends. According to a document that we had access – a single A/4 page - the Economic Crime Unit (ECU) from Leicestershire Constabulary, supervised by Detective Sargent John Wardle, checked the nine persons.

The report stated that there were no concerns or notifications by any other financial institute and referred that records of current bank accounts were held only when and if it was required for credit checking purposes.

The Economic Crime Unit from Leicestershire Constabulary found no records of credit cards or loans, from Gerry and Kate McCann, who have a mortgage. All seven friends are referred as holding credit cards, with one of the couples having seven credit cards.

According to the Economic Crime Unit report, no records of current bank accounts are held, from five of those nine persons, including Gerry and Kate McCann. ECU report states that there are records of loans from two of the Tapas group, and records of current bank accounts are held only from four of the seven McCann friends.

The father of Madeleine McCann had his wallet stolen on a recent trip back to the UK. The theft occurred Tuesday morning when Gerry McCann's, wallet containing precious photographs of his daughter was stolen at Gatwick Airport in London. The UK Daily Mail reports Gerry McCann was had flown from Faro to Gatwick Airport, and was planning to interview candidates to run the campaign to find Madeleine when he was targeted by pickpockets.

It is believed that the criminals stole the wallet as McCann withdrew cash from a till near the Foreign Office in Whitehall.
