I wonder why they arent suing Amaral. He's said many times that Maddie died in the apartment so thats saying point blank the parents killed her and know what happened. They sued the media for far less
I don't think they'll sue for fear of Amarals defence being strong. They know he's got close to the truth and won't risk pushing it any further with him just incase something they do or say nails them. Lets face it..... if we were innocent we would want to put his accusations to bed...wouldn't we?

It seems they hid behind the secrecy laws.
All this "we can't defend ourselves" crap...what they meant was we don't want to dig our own graves! And still don't hence the silence. I'm sure they think if they keep quiet it will all go away....NO...you made your bed and you'll lie in it!

'Innocent' killers
Sion Jenkins killed his 14-year-old foster daughter, but clever lawyers and so-called forensics officers had his conviction for murder annulled.
O.J. Simpson killed his wife, as even he now virtually concedes.
Both are technically innocent, though, the courts in their respective countries having declared them innocent, following a jury trial. So my first two sentences above are technically libellous.
In some cases, like the above two, there is just not quite enough evidence to convince a jury to convict.
The McCanns' case is different, and in some ways more sinister.
There appears to have been ample evidence, both forensic and circumstantial, to have convicted the McCanns at least of hiding a body and preventing an autopsy and/or perverting, obstructing or interfering with the course of justice. Certainly enough to bring before a jury and let the jury decide.
In their case, however, some of the most powerful people in Europe, including the current British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and the current (Portuguese) President of the European Parliament, Jose Manuel de Barroso, agreed in the autumn of 2007 to force out the Senior Investigating Officer and so kick this case into touch.
The McCanns have no need to say anything; they know no case can be brought against them, and they have got money from the Helping to Find Madeleine.
Plus they've got fame...or more like the notoriety that stalks the likes of Sion Jenkins and O.J. Simpson.
PREDICTION: Within 12 months, they will have relocated to another country

Great post and so true, sadly.
The protection has to be pretty powerful, not only to save the necks of the McCanns, but also keep their friends in line too.
What a disgusting spectacle the lot of them are.

Its now 72 days since Gerry and Kate were free from arguidos status...
So where are the TV interviews and programmes with them bleating " leaving no stone unturned".
Where are they.....

And for Kate to throw a temper tantrum about her diary, and collect some money from the NOTW. They could have done that from anywhere though couldn't they ?
I think the last time I saw them was at Rothley for the arguido lifting speech.
I cannot believe they actually got to Canada for that holiday without it being leaked to the press. Other travellers and airport staff must have known about it. What a change from the publicity filled days of summer 2007.

96 days ....
Come on McCanns... where are the clues to help the public look for Madeleine.
Why not some interviews ... I am sure the daily morning programmes would love to have you.

Too busy thinking up a master plan to make a scapegoat out of someone. Pass the blame...oldest trick in the book! Almaral is the target I think.

I think so too. Thank goodness Mr Almaral is standing his ground well.
