Secrecy - Will it affect outcome of trial
I was thinking whether this new refusal to testify because of secrecy would affect the outcome. The issue is this. We have been told by our Media that the investigation concluded that the McCanns were absolutely cleared of all wrongdoing. Now the case as far as i can see isn't whether or not they did anything wrong. But whether the investigation concluded they were cleared of all wrongdoing. As we have been told in the UK media. In other words have we been mislead into what the files and the investigation said. And surely it is up to the Portuguese legal authorities as to which parts of their own Portuguese files should be made public or be allowed to be disclosed to the hearing and which shouldn't be.

i have also been having problems in getting to grips with the ins and outs of all the speculation.
i've reached the stage where i'm just reading and hoping that someone somewhere knows what they're talking about.
has it been reported by a reliable source that the hearing will be held in secret?

According to Sky they will be covering the case with live updates (see last sentence)

So it looks as if it isn't going to be held behind closed doors after all. I wonder if a lot of evidence won't be allowed. And that is how they will get round it.

no worries blossom :)
i wonder if journalists are allowed but not the general public and that is what in camera means?I'm confused now. Maybe SKY don't know its going to be in camera then??
It was blacksmith who said it had been decided it was behind closed doors, nothing officially said, so who knows what is going on

I believe that acredited journalists will be allowed but not your usual bystander who likes to spend their days in the courtrooms.

And they wouldn't want the place to be full of hecklers!
Re: Secrecy - Will it affect outcome of trial
I am sure the Portuguese courts, like English ones, have their own way of dealing with hecklers.

What a stupid woman to suggest that a dog could lie. How do you distinguish an honest bark from a lying bark?

What if the judge will decide that the McCann-case needs further investigations (by the PJ)???
Every human with common sense would think that.

I agree Carolina. I reckon Sky news have a special relationship with the Mc's and will get all the latest.
