I didn't know that. Does it mean they know what they texted, the actual message or is it the time and area of where the text was sent from?

I think it was quickfingers who indicated that Luis Frois (I think) one of the McCanns' propoosed witnesses may be employed in the telecomms industry in Portugal. Is that to try to refute the intercepted texts evidence?

there was a seperate court case about the text's, they couldn't be submitted as the cops intercepted them before they got a warrant, or something like that.
Some of the Pertyguse posters agreed with the courts decition, IIRC.

I doubt it. Only the PJ can do phone taps, besides the SMS's were discarded as possible evidence in the early stages of the investigation.
