Surely that was a very ill-judged point to bring to the courts attention. The whole ethos of the McCann's defence is that they were never charged so they are innocent. Are we now being told by their own lawyer that you can be believed to be guilty even though you have not been charged.

So where does that leave the constant repeating. The McCanns were cleared of all wrongdoing by the police and the investigation. Where in the files does it say this.

I agree Carly it is good it is all coming out, we've all be slated for believing what happened that night. It is just i'm flapping between here, the tweet and tv. I'm having an adrenalin rush, need a large one to calm me down. It is a pity that more of the British media isn't picking up on it in more detail.

Brunt is saying we all know they were cleared of any wrongdoing - don't remember that bit!

Hello hi i'm back till 2pm ,not having it all their own way are they.

i think brunty just waffles sometimes, he looks like a rabbit caught in headlights!!! like he's under constant pressure to impress someone and terrified of sayin the wrong thing!!!

Could be, he might have got it in the neck when he reported from PDL that is was 100% Maeleines DNA in the car, so now his job might be on the line (Hopefully) if he blags against the saintly duo.

HI AA ,not so bad,its this cold plays havoc when you're trying to breathe ,payback time for all the years i smoked,pay heed smokers.

you know what i still fond amazing/ via the internet people can follow any case/trial in the world now im only 30 but when i was a child we could wait days or weeks for stories on tv now its at our fingertips!!

I'm afraid I have to rain on the parade here. The headline about Maddie having died in the flat is in inverted commas, which means, in media speak, it is not an established fact. Everything that we have heard today has been reported in the media at one stage or another during the last 2.5 years so IMO, unless Amaral has something up his sleeve, some new evidence to reopen the case, then things will continue as they are now ad infinitum..i.e. many will believe that Maddie did indeed die in the flat, but nobody will be able to prove it..

I really hope GA has something new and vital to tell the court...

fedrules - i have a feeling we have not heard the last of the telephone conversations and text messages, GA has come this far, he must believe he has the ammunition to put this to bed. I have asked this question before....
