Yes, that is what has been reported and he has been moved to Brisbane, Wacol, for his own safety.

lynn this is probably most unlikley but if he is mentally disabled maybe he wanted to play with her and they were playing in the drain and she drowned? it said that she was found with all her clothes on so.....as i said its most unlikley and no way am i defending him but could it be possible

I imagine it depends on what type of mental disability he has, the important point being can he be considered responsible for his own actions, did he know (if he killed her) that he was doing wrong? He broke into the house at night and took her from her bed - it sounds like a deliberate act to me - the breaking-in, I mean, not necessarily the abduction and killing (if she was indeed killed).

A very sad case and sadder still if the perpetrator is known to the family, though this would bear out the statistics about people known to the child often being responsible.

tthe little girl did die and he is in jail tonight but they are still doing forensic tests etc its amost 99% that he killed her but then there is the 1% chance that she drowned too
