We would have still got a negative response but I would have loved to read it.
Indeed, we should ask specific questions.

Re: NO to Neglect............PETITION
If we were to send information to the Leicestershire Police what would we send? Does anyone have a good enough handle on all the discrepancies, theories etc to be able to put something together?

Re: NO to Neglect............PETITION
I think one question I would ask, and cc to the PJ, is why Russell O'Brien and others were allowed to read other witness statements when they were interviewed in Leicester.

Another question might be : why did it take so long to get the Gaspars statement to the PJ, and was this ever investigated?

With that in mind I would feel more confident in sending any information directly to them and let them decide, ,given the Leic's police's reputaion for withholding and delaying things in this case let alone the fact that they promote the fund!! !
I agree Enigma,
I recieved that email today too are the Leicestershire Police still working on the Case?, I don't know if I would trust the British Police after reading the Dear Stu, hope you are well from the fantasist Jane Tanner and Prior signing his emails Stu, this is about a missing Child not my new best buddy on emails.
Stuart Prioir told them that if anyone of them did not want to do the Reconstruction it would not go ahead.
They should have all been made to go back to Portugal for the Official Police Reconstruction......

Re: NO to Neglect............PETITION
I got my brush-off email this morning too.
I'm that hacked off I feel like getting some of my spam, such as incredible money making schemes and dating agencies with partners just panting to meet me (even though I've never joined any) and forwarding it to the 10 Downing Street email address.
After all, they've sent me a load of crap today, so fairs fair, innit.

Hi Alfie,I didn't expect anymore from this lot, each and every petition I've signed has so far received the same trite kind of answer. The reason I go on signing them is because it gives the government an idea of the number of people who just aren't satisfied with being kept in the dark about what is happening around us.In the case of Maddie the government must now realise that we aren't all brainwashed by the McCanns and Mitchell and that we will will keep questioning, hell they might even realise that their attitude is costing them votes.

"...any new lines of enquiry will be investigated and communicated to the Portuguese authorities."
- Investigation and communication in respect of some of the old lines would be a benefit, don't you think?
"Any requests for further investigation in the UK by the Portuguese will be expedited and evidence provided to them in accordance with normal international protocols."
- Perhaps someone should suggest to the Portuguese authorities who are "leading the investigation and who retain primacy" that they re-submit requests for bank details and medical records. They might get somewhere now.
"The Government does not believe that a review into the role of British police in relation to the Portuguese inquiry into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann would serve a useful purpose."
- Useful government purpose that is.

Re: NO to Neglect............PETITION
Ooops! I have just sent a note through on another thread saying I too had received the standard reply.
But what I couldn't make out was, because of how it is worded, is the British Police still investigating the case. But seeing some of the replies here now I think I understand what they are saying which is no, but they will send any evidence they are given to the Portuguese Police. ( Yer right!! pull the other one! - I think we have heard that before haven't we!)
