In a sex abuse scandal that some victims compare to what happened in the Catholic Church, at least 36 swimming coaches have been banned for life by the USA Swimming organization over the last 10 years because of sexual misconduct with teenagers they coached.

The coaches have molested, fondled and abused dozens of swimmers, according to court records and interviews conducted by ABC News for reports Friday on "World News with Diane Sawyer" and "20/20."

One coach, Brian Hindson of Kokomo, IN, secretly taped teenage girls he coached in two high school pool locker rooms, one in which he directed girls to a "special" shower room where he had a hidden camera inside a locker.

"It was a sense of betrayal," Indiana swimming star Brooke Taflinger told ABC News chief investigative correspondent Brian Ross for a report to be broadcast Friday on "20/20."

Taflinger's parents later identified Brooke for the FBI as one of the girls who was taped naked in the locker and shower area.

"I gotta tell you, it hurt," Brooke's father, Bruce Taflinger, told "20/20." "My wife only had to look at one picture before she turned away in tears," he said.

FBI agents became aware of the pictures after a North Carolina woman bought the coach's computer on E-Bay and discovered a video clip of a young girl in a locker room appearing to be taped without her knowledge. A subsequent search of Hindson's home turned up more locker room footage and a large selection of child pornography.

"This had gone on for nearly 10 years, without any detection whatsoever," Lt. Don Whitehead of the Kokomo, IN police department's cyber crime unit told ABC News.

Hindson was sentenced in 2008 to 33 years in federal prison. His attorney Gregg Stark did not return repeated requests for comment.

Still, another one of Hindson's victims, Sarah Rutkowski, now 21, said there are many questions left unanswered.

"I'd really like to know how he did it and where the videos have ended up, if they're on the internet or if he put them through Limewire or if they were just sitting around for his personal use," Rutkowski, who is believed to have been 12 or 13 when she was taped, told ABC News. "That's really disturbing to me, not knowing where those videos are."

Mother Charged With Her Baby Boy's Murder

The mother of a 10-day-old baby boy who died in a "tragic incident" at home has been charged with his murder.

Police and ambulance crews were called to an address in Brixham, in Devon, following a call on Tuesday morning saying that a child had stopped breathing.

The infant was taken from the house in Pine Close to Torbay Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police said a 30-year-old local woman has been charged with murder, remanded in custody, and was due to appear before magistrates in Torquay.

Detective Inspector Steve Parker, of Devon and Cornwall Police's major crime investigation team, said: "The investigation is at an early stage and forensic examinations of the scene are ongoing.

"This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the family during what must be a terrible time for them.

"A dedicated team of detectives are working on the inquiry and will be working closely with our partner agencies to establish the exact circumstances that led to this death."

Mother jailed over sex act with 15-year-old

A mother has been jailed for sexual activity with a schoolgirl in front of Internet voyeurs.



Crystal Slaney, 25, drank vodka with the 15-year-old last year, before speaking with several men on Internet chat facility MSN messenger.

The pair then engaged in sexual activity on a web cam at the men's request in front of Slaney's 19-month-old son.

Prosecuting barrister Mark Bury said: "On the face of it, there was no remonstration by the complainant at the time.

"But the next day she told her mother in some distress what had happened. Police then got involved.

"In the cold light of day she said, 'It was devastating. I can't believe I did that'."

In a victim impact statement, the teenager, who is not related to Slaney, said: "I feel dirty over the incident and angry with myself for letting it happen."

Mr Bury told the court the schoolgirl had lost confidence and self-esteem following the sexual activity.

Her schoolwork also suffered.

In a pre-sentence report, Slaney was described as an "emotionally damaged woman for whom the barriers of appropriate sexual behaviour have become blurred".

Anil Murray, defending, said Slaney had pleaded guilty "at the first opportunity".

He said: "The defendant was in a place and time in her life when she was not thinking clearly and acting sensibly.

"This was one of these things that happen spontaneously and if the complainant had been a little older there would have been no offence committed."

Mr Murray also told the court the victim had been drinking alcohol.

But sentencing Slaney to 18 months imprisonment, The Honourable Mr Justice Penry-Davey told her she was mature enough to know what she was doing.

He said: "You are 25 and well old enough to appreciate the serious nature of the offences to which you have pleaded guilty.

"You knew that you were dealing with a child.

"I take into consideration your mitigation, including your plea of guilty, and that makes the sentence significantly shorter than it would otherwise have been."

Slaney, of Victoria Road, Bridlington, pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual activity with a child at Hull Crown Court.

She was given an 18-month jail term for each offence, to run concurrently.

She was also placed on the sexual offenders' register.

Woman: Tiffany Taylor Should Not Be On Home Incarceration

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky -- Three months after a Louisville woman charged with sex crimes against young children was released from jail, the victims' mother found out through the Internet.

WLKY News first told you about the arrest of 27-year-old Tiffany Taylor, who is now awaiting trial while on home incarceration.

Taylor is charged with rape, sodomy and sexual abuse of six young children.

A judge released Taylor from jail in late January and placed her on home incarceration with releases for medical emergencies and attorney visits.

The victims' mother said she only found out about the release last week, and is now concerned for the children around her.

"Why is she allowed to be out on home incarceration and she just raped all these kids?" said the mother, who asked to be identified as Rochelle.

Taylor was charged with 20 felony sex crimes involving Rochelle's six young children has been out of jail on home incarceration since January.

Rochelle said she was never notified.

"We had no idea," she said. "We thought she was still in jail and just so happened we went on the Internet and there she was, posted on the Internet."

Rochelle found Taylor's profile on the social networking website Mocospace.

"'Catch me if you can,' it's what she's got posted on there, like she's proud of what she did," she said. "Like she's done got away with it."

The case against Taylor is scheduled for trial in August. Meanwhile, Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Erin White said Taylor is not prohibited from using the internet while on home incarceration, but she is not allowed to have any contact with the victims.

"Every night, she's calling, it's on my phone, and last night she called and my son answered and I told my son to tell her we're going to get her sent back in jail, and she giggled," Rochelle said.

White said if they can verify these calls came from Taylor, she will file a motion to increase Taylor's bond and ask for her to be put back in custody.

In the meantime, Rochelle is concerned for her own children and any children Taylor may be in contact with.

Taylor lives only three blocks from her daughter's school.

"I have to worry about if my daughter comes across her down there. You know you have to worry about if she comes out where we live at," she said. "All the kids that live around her, everybody needs to be aware of her."

Nevada Woman Gets Life for Lewd Acts With Child

If there's one thing we all can agree on, it's that child molestation is a despicable act. In Nevada, engaging in any kind of lewd behavior with a minor could get you thrown in jail ... for life.



Michelle Lyn Taylor, 34, was sentenced to life in prison by a Nevada judge, even though her defense attorney argued, "This is cruel and unusual punishment. She put his hand on her boob while she was wearing a bra ... now she's getting life?!"

Taylor was convicted of forcing an underage boy to fondle her breast while she was under the influence of alcohol back in November. The sentence is said to be the harshest ever given to a female sex offender in the state of Nevada.

Female sex attacker jailed for five years

A FEMALE sex attacker has been jailed for five years after her victim said: “She took away my childhood and the best years of my life.”



Sandra Gough’s past caught up with her as she was locked up for repeated sexual assaults on a schoolgirl which happened about a decade ago.

The girl, now a woman in her twenties, said she went “completely off the rails” after Gough molested her.

She said the assaults haunted her, she still suffered nightmares and flashbacks and felt she would never get over her ordeals even as her tormentor was brought to justice.

Prosecutor Rosalind Scott Bell read parts of the complainant’s personal statement to a courtroom yesterday.

The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said she missed out on “the normal things that young girls do” and lost a childhood she could never get back. Se turned to drink and drugs and “spent seven years out of her head”, the court heard.

She tried to take her own life several times, once as recently as a few weeks ago, and took medication for depression.

Now she hopes to build a new life for herself.

She had told jurors how Gough touched her in a way that was “just not right”. She later told her mother of the physical abuse she had suffered.

Former factory worker, barmaid and pub licensee Gough, 37, who has lived in the Stockton area and worked in a pub in that area, denied all of the allegations against her.

She said she never behaved inappropriately to the girl.

A jury convicted her on five counts of indecent assault after a trial last month.

Yesterday there was crying in the Teesside Crown Court public gallery as a judge and lawyers discussed sentences ranging up to 10 to 13 years, or even life imprisonment.

Gough was of previous good character and her barrister Jonathan Walker said she was shocked to realise she would be in prison for a long time.

He asked the judge not to pass a crushing sentence.

He said: “Despite the fact that it is undoubtedly an ugly series of offences, this is not the worst of their type.

“She did not seek out a situation in which this would arise. She did not seek out this victim.”

He added there was no intimidation, threats, abduction, detention or use of drugs or alcohol, and said it was difficult to lay all the complainant’s troubles at Gough’s door.

Judge Tony Briggs said: “It may not be the only cause of her problems, but I’m satisfied it is a significant cause of them, and it’s had a bad effect on her emotional and psychological development.

“Quite clearly a significant sentence is inevitable.”

He jailed Gough, now of Highcliffe Terrace, Ferryhill, County Durham, for five years.

Gough was given a sexual offences prevention order and will be banned from working with children and placed on the sex offenders’ register.

Detective Constable Fran Donovan of Cleveland Police said today: “I am very pleased with this result. I hope that this gives confidence to other victims of sexual abuse, to speak out.

“This sentence sends a clear message to those who prey upon the most vulnerable members of society that Cleveland Police and the Crown Prosecution Service will always strive to bring them to justice, no matter how long ago their crimes.”

Menace' jailed over child rape and abduction attempt

A man who tried to murder a 60-year-old woman in an Aberdeen park during an attempt to abduct and rape her two young granddaughters has been jailed.

Ryan Yates admitted stabbing the woman as the girls, aged eight and two, fled.

Yates, 30, carried out the attack last October, days after he was released for an assault with a sexual element.

He was jailed for a minimum of 10 years at the High Court in Glasgow. The judge said Yates may never be released. The victim said he was a menace to society.

Judge Lord Pentland imposed a life-long restriction order on Yates.

He said it was unlikely that Yates would ever be released as he presented an exceptionally high level of danger to women and society.

Lord Pentland said: "Your murderous attack was motivated by your intention to abduct and rape her two young grandchildren.

"There can be no doubt that you now stand convicted of conduct of great evil and depravity.

"It may well be that you will never be released.

"You pose an exceptionally high level of danger to the public, particularly women and children."

The grandmother told BBC Scotland minutes after the sentence: "I am really pleased with the result because he really should not be on the streets.

"It's what we have been waiting for."

Chemically castrated

She said of the attack: "It makes you a bit wary about going out.

"We are all fine, apart from my blood pressure. This [sentence] should hopefully bring it down. It means we can forget about it and get on with our lives.

"It's somebody's son - but he's just a menace to society and should never be out."

His defence counsel Jack Davidson QC told the court that Yates had now agreed to be chemically castrated.

Mr Davidson said: "He is prepared to try anything to overcome his problems which have blighted his life."

Yates was caught by police shortly after the attack and said he had gone out that day "looking to find some children to have sex with".

He said he intended to kill the woman so he could "get to the kids".

Advocate depute Alan Mackay told an earlier hearing: "While walking in the park the younger child asked to come out of her buggy. The grandmother bent down to unbuckle the child from the buggy and noticed a pair of legs standing very close to her.

"She stood up and saw the accused close by, less than an arm's length away. He was holding a sharp, pointed kitchen knife with a serrated edge in his right hand."

He said that, without warning, Yates then thrust the knife towards the woman's chest and during the ensuing struggle the victim found herself on the ground.

She grabbed the bottom of the blade and top of the knife handle and kicked out at her attacker while the elder of the children fled with her younger sister.

Let them go

Mr Mackay said: "The struggle for the knife continued and Yates told her he'd let her go if she let go of the knife. She refused and the accused spat in her face as she continued to struggle and scream."

Another woman intervened and Yates walked away "quite calmly".

Police soon tracked him down. During an interview he maintained that he would have raped the children but would have let them go afterwards.

Unemployed Yates admitted attempting to murder the grandmother with the intention of abducting and raping the young children in Westfield Park, Bridge of Don, on 14 October 2009.

He also admitted breaching the terms of an interim sexual offences prevention order made against him at Aberdeen Sheriff Court just days earlier.

Det Supt Brian Yule, of Grampian Police, said: "This was a horrific crime targeting an innocent woman out for a walk in the park with two young children."

Mount Diablo School District employee arrested for sexual exploitation of a child

Janis Thompson, a 44-year-old Martinez resident and a part-time yard duty Supervisor with the Mount Diablo Unified School District, has been arrested for lewd and lascivious contact with minors and sexual exploitation of a child, according to the Martinez Police.

Detective Michael Estanol with MPD issued the following statement.

Within the past 6 months, the Martinez Police Department has received two tips from the Sheridan Police Department (WY) and from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

The information consisted of the suspect female making contact with minor boys through the Xbox 360 Live gaming console.

The female would then converse with the juveniles through the gaming system and then at some point would exchange telephone phone numbers. The suspect female would then instigate sexual conversations with these minor boys.

Through investigation, the suspect female was identified as Janis Thompson, a 44yr. old female of Martinez. On 5/4/10, the Martinez Police Department served a search/arrest warrant at Thompson's home. Thompson was found there and arrested. Evidence was located in the home. Thompson was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility for the charges of lewd and lascivious contact with minors and sexual exploitation of a child.

It was determined Thompson was a Mt. Diablo School District employee as a part time yard duty supervisor. The school district was notified per state law.

Huyton lesbian social worker jailed for historic sex abuse

A WOMAN was jailed for grooming and abusing a young girl, more than 20 years ago.

Liverpool crown court heard openly-gay social worker June Higgins, 40, was just 16 when she befriended her 12-year-old victim.

For more than a year she repeatedly sexually abused the girl. She even kept her young victim quiet by warning her she would be brandished a lesbian if she ever exposed the sexual assaults.

Her crimes only came to light last year when her victim revealed what had happened to her in counselling and felt strong enough to tell police.

Higgins, of Salerno Drive, Huyton, denied any wrong-doing, but she was convicted by jurors of six counts of indecent assault between February 1986 and February 1988.

Zia Chaudhry, defending, told how Higgins had led an “unblemished life” for the last 22 years and had been working for social services at Knowsley Borough Council.

But jailing her for two years, Recorder Nicholas Clarke QC said: “I must do justice for your victim who was severely traumatised by what you did.”

He added: “This was prolonged sexual abuse over a period of 12 months on a child of 12 and 13. It has had serious, traumatic and lasting effects on your victim.”

Recorder Clarke said Higgins’s victim had initially been flattered by the attention of an “older, more mature woman”.

Higgins then groomed the girl by introducing her to films of a sexual nature and on one occasion plying her with drink.

He said: “She complied because you were an adult. Over time you became more and more intimate with her and jealously possessive of her.”

The abuse eventually came to an end when Higgins became involved in adult same-sex relationships and is now open about her sexuality and about living in a gay relationship.

Recorder Clarke said he accepted Higgins did not present a risk to children.

He said: “I can treat this case as you experimenting at a time when you had not fully understood your own sexuality.

“It is clear to me you used your victim for that experimentation.”

Higgins was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for the next 10 years.

A LORRY driver who filmed himself having sex with young children during a 30-year reign of abuse was given a ten year extended sentence at the High Court in Perth today.
Robert Manson bowed his head in shame as a member of one victim's family screamed: "I hope you rot in there. I swear to God if I could get my hands on you I would kill you myself."

Manson, 61, committed serious sex acts with children as young as eight and carried out his abuse on both male and female victims between 1979 and January this year.

Police who raided his home on an unrelated matter found sickening videos the lorry driver had made in which he made his victims dress up before abusing them.

Manson admitted a total of six charges of serious and sustained sexual assaults upon children at addresses in Edinburgh between 4 November 1979 and 4 January 2010.

Lady Stacey said it was hard to distinguish the charges from each other and she gave him individual sentences totalling 48 years, but made them all concurrent.

She ordered him to serve a ten year sentence, with eight years of it as a custodial term, and a further two year extended period to protect the public from future harm.

"This was disgraceful behaviour which caused a great deal of harm...over a long period of time," Lady Stacey said. "You have acknowledged that any guilt and shame you felt did not prevent you carrying on this course of action.

"It is hard to distinguish between the various charges because all of them involve abuse of young people for your own sexual gratification.

"You proceeded to have sexual intercourse on some occasions and not on others, but you always indulged in lewd behaviour. A long custodial sentence is the only appropriate disposal.

"I am of the view that you may present a threat to public safety on your release so I will impose an extended sentence, so there is some supervision of you when you are released."

Manson, from Broomhouse, Edinburgh, admitted six charges of serious sexual abuse relating to three young girls – aged from eight – and one ten-year-old boy.

The court heard how officers from Lothian and Borders police turned up at Manson's home and discovered a stash of home videos featuring him abusing children.

They found one video of him wearing female lingerie, make-up, a short red skirt and black bra committing a solo sex act in front of the camera. The soundtrack revealed him making lewd remarks to one of his young victims.

Advocate depute Andrew Miller, prosecuting, said a number of disks, digital cameras and other equipment were seized during a raid on Manson's home.

Some of the footage showed how Manson had made one girl dress up as a model or a belly dancer or rock star during what the paedophile described as "games".

Other footage showed Manson simulating sex or committing other indecent acts, and when one victim was 13 years old, Manson showed her a film of them having sexual intercourse.

Solicitor advocate Brent Lockie, defending, said Manson accepted his guilt and knew that he faced a lengthy custodial sentence. Mr Lockie said his client was "deeply ashamed" of what he had done.

A mother has appeared before Newtownards Magistrates Court charged with sexually abusing her children.

She is accused of abusing them in County Down over a 20-year period between 1972 and 1992.

The woman in her 50s, who has five children, is charged with 15 counts of cruelty, four of indecent assault and four of gross indecency.

She is due to appear again in court in June.

On Monday, the woman's ex-husband, who is also the father of the alleged victims appeared in court in Downpatrick along with a former part-time RUC reservist, on a series of child sex abuse charges, including rape.

Both men deny the sex abuse charges and were refused bail.

A detective constable told Newtownards Magistrates Court on Tuesday that the charges are all related to the same case and that feelings in the community were running high.

The accused wept as district judge Mr Hamilton said proceedings were part of an ongoing investigation.

Four other people arrested as part of the same enquiry were released on bail.

Mother and father plead guilty to sex with son

A SYDNEY couple have pleaded guilty to having sex with their nine-year-old son.

The 48-year-old woman and her 57-year-old husband were charged in November 2009 with multiple offences relating to the repeated sexual assault of their son, who is now aged 10.

Authorities were alerted to the family after the nine-year-old propositioned a girl at his school for sex.

Police arrested the couple at their home in Sydney's south on November 16, 2009, and they have not seen their son since being taken into custody.

In Sydney's Central Local Court on Thursday, the father pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual intercourse with his son, two counts of committing an indecent act, using the nine-year-old for child pornographic purposes, indecently assaulting his son, possessing child pornography and using the internet to offend.

The mother pleaded guilty to sexual intercourse with her son and two counts of committing an act of indecency.

On one occasion, the woman performed a sex act on him while the man filmed it. The footage was later posted online.

The family are known nudists.

The offences allegedly occurred during 2009 at the family home in Sydney's south. Video recordings were allegedly made, and the footage later posted online.

Both parents have been refused bail and an order is in place preventing them from having any contact with their son until he reaches adulthood.

The pair are due to face Sydney's Downing Centre District Court on June 4.

The woman will be involved in discussions about an apprehended violence order involving her son, enacted by prosecutors on his behalf, on June 11 at Central Local Court.

For legal reasons, none of the parties involved can be named.

Police had seized computer equipment from the family home as part of their investigations.

Among those items was a video recording of the co-accused engaged in sex acts in front of their son.

Since investigations began, another man has been criminally charged with offences relating to him viewing footage of the boy online.

Portsmouth woman admits sex assault on toddler

A woman has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a two-year-old boy.



Tracy Lyons, 40, from the Portsmouth area, also admitted engaging a child in a sex act and distributing indecent images of children.

The former nursery volunteer, and a mother-of-nine, admitted a six charges at Bristol Crown Court.

Police have said the charges against Lyons were not linked to Izzies Nursery in Wymering Road, where she volunteered in the summer of 2008.

'Fully supervised'

Lyons admitted touching the two-year-old boy sexually between 22 September and 11 November 2008.

She also admitted causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity between those dates and pleaded guilty to three counts of distributing indecent photographs of a child on 10 November 2008.

When Lyons, of North End, was charged with the offences, a Portsmouth City Council spokeswoman said: "We would like to stress that at no time was Tracy Lyons ever left alone with any child. She was fully supervised at all times.

"An enhanced CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check was completed in advance of Tracy beginning her voluntary work at Izzies."

The judge at Bristol Crown Court, Mr Justice Royce, adjourned sentencing to a date to be fixed and Lyons was remanded in custody.

A SAVAGE dad who murdered his teenage daughter then drove her body around in his car for nine hours was jailed for life today.

Jealous Gary Fisher, 48, butchered pretty Chanelle Sasha Jones with a hunting knife because she wanted to spend more time with her boyfriend than him.

He then drove his silver Ford Fiesta for more than 100 miles around local roads with the blood-soaked body of the 17-year-old under a blanket on the front seat.

At one point he drove past Chanelle's mother Jayne Jones outside her home in Cardigan, West Wales, and was seen to smirk and look up to the sky.

Fisher had claimed he wanted to end Chanelle's suffering after she was raped by another man three years earlier.

But Judge Mr Justice Lloyd Jones told him that was "a wicked lie" — and jailed him for a minimum of 20 years.

The judge said: "This a most appalling waste of a young life. Chanelle's horrific death will lead a permanent shadow over the lives of her family and friends."

Stone-faced Fisher, of Solihull, West Midlands, said thank you to the judge as he was sentenced.

Swansea Crown Court heard how the brute, who stabbed his daughter 22 times in last August's attack, had a long history of violence, harassment and possessing weapons.

Prosecutor Christopher Clee said: "Fisher had attacked and threatened previous victims with chains, hammers and knives.

"On one occasion he was jailed for harassment after stealing a gravestone and leaving it outside a woman friend's house.

"He painted white crosses on cars outside her home and killed a cat leaving its head on her doorstep."

Outside court Chanelle's mother, 48, said: "My daughter was beautiful. I love her. We had become good friends and I just wanted to be there for her.

"Gary Fisher has put us all through this - not only myself but my other children and my family.

"It upsets me how awful and petrifying those last few hours must have been for Channelle.

"This has shattered our lives. My beautiful daughter is missed more and more as time goes by.

"Words cannot describe the awful, deep feelings we are all experiencing."

Jealous dad murdered tots

A JEALOUS father who filmed a "farewell video" of his two young children before strangling them with computer cables was jailed for life today for their murders.



Petros Williams, 37, of Manchester, was given a minimum prison term of 28 years for killing his four-year-old daughter Yolanda Molemohi and two-year-old son Theo in a "spiteful reaction" to the breakdown of his marriage.

He deliberately used internet connection cords to choke them in their sleep to punish his wife, who had started using dating websites to see other men.

The videotape was found along with a number of "suicide" notes found at his one-bedroom flat in Whalley Range after his wife, Morongoe, 30, discovered their bodies last October.

Williams was found lying beside them dazed, but uninjured, next to a noose that had been tied to the bed.

The video — played to the jury — was labelled "Daddy Yolly Theo Byee The End", with a note attached which read: "Play the video made for your memories, thank you Petros."

The film is thought to have been made a few days before their deaths as they watched ITV1's The X Factor, Manchester Crown Court heard.

Williams, a housing association officer and postgraduate student, was initially behind the camera as he asked the children to say "we love you mummy" and "we will miss you".

Williams then joined them on the sofa, telling them to look to the camera, and said: "Say 'bye'."

The short film ended with a smiling Yolly and Theo waving to their mother.

The Zimbabwe-born defendant became aware Miss Molemohi had joined dating websites about a fortnight before the pair were found on the morning of October 14.

He obsessively kept a diary of her internet exchanges before he ordered her out of the family home a week later.

Williams personally warned off two suitors and texted one: "Stay away from my wife, you fool."

Among several notes he left in the flat was one stuck to the computer which read: "Mo, use the internet as much you like. Love Petros."

Other messages were "Sorry my lovely Yolly and Theo. Sorry Mummy decided to leave us for a new boyfriend", and "Mo, bye sweetheart. I couldn't take the pain any more, see you in heaven, love Daddy Petros".

Williams was arrested at the scene and placed "spitting and grunting" into a police van.

He was transferred to hospital when he complained he felt unwell and tests later showed he had taken a combination of steroids and prescribed drugs.

The couple moved to the UK in 2002 after Williams was granted asylum.

Giving evidence, Williams denied strangling the pair and said he was "devastated" at their deaths.

He said he did not compose the notes and added that the last time he saw his children alive was when their mother settled them into bed the night before she returned to her hotel five miles away.

He claimed to have entered the room in darkness and then unknowingly slept beside his dead children

Paedophile used religion to keep abuse secret

A paedophile raped and sexually assaulted women and girls over a period of 40 years by using their religion to keep the abuse secret.

Despite one revealing it to the Jehovah's Witness elders, no help was given, a court heard.

Now George Arthur Cockerill, 78, has been jailed indefinitely after he admitted 19 rapes, four counts of sexual activity with a child, six counts of indecency with a child, one sex assault and two counts of indecency with a child.

Judge Roger Thorn QC, sitting at Hull Crown Court, said: "You have pleaded guilty to 32 serious counts that reflect your sexual depravity.

"The reality is that, from beginning to end, it is extended over 40 years. You have wasted your life and caused untold misery.

"As one victim said, you have stolen her childhood.

"You have been the most terrible hypocrite, passing yourself off as a law-abiding member of the community and using religion as a tool of subjection to control your victims.

"That is why I'm satisfied this remained a secret for so long."

Cockerill was sentenced to imprisonment for public protection for a minimum of six years.

He will not be released until the Parole Board believe he is no longer a danger.

Cockerill, of Hull, was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life.

He allegedly had five victims, three of whom were subject to the convictions he pleaded guilty to and two more have made allegations against him.

Police believe there could be more.

In a statement read to the court, one victim said: "He took my childhood away."

Prosecutor David Dixon said: "He made one victim pray afterwards, linking the assault to the religion she had been devoted to for many years.

"She had pleaded with him not to do it.

"One girl tried to get the church elders to do something about him, but to no avail."

The attacks came to light after one woman told her doctor and then contacted the police.

The police then discovered more victims.

Cockerill has worked in the area as a butcher.

He served in the Army for eight years and has been involved with the Jehovah's Witnesses for a number of years.

Detective Constable Sam Crompton, from Humberside Police's public protection unit, said: "I would like to thank the complainants for their bravery in reliving such a difficult time in their lives and for having the strength and courage to assist us with the investigation."

A spokesperson for the Jehovah's Witnesses said: "We do not tolerate in any way that kind of behaviour. When this was brought to our attention Mr Cockerill was disfellowshipped and therefore he is no longer a Jehovah's Witness."

The convicted child sex offender accused of babysitting two small children has been sentenced.

50-year-old Roberta Bever of Boyceville has been ordered to pay a $204 fine for a charge of resisting or obstructing an officer, a reduced charge from the original felony sex registry violation.

Bever was convicted of first degree sexual assault of a child in 1998. A sex offender registration specialist says that means she can't work or volunteer with children under 16. Prosecutors say Bever told them she didn't know she was breaking the law.

A woman has vowed to stand by her ex-partner despite seeing him jailed for two years for a shocking catalogue of child pornography offences.



Rest home worker Jenny told the Daily Echo how she still loved 48-year-old Neil Hiley, despite the “fetish” for young girls which drove him to download thousands of indecent images of children on their home computer.

Friday the 13th of June 2008 is a day Jenny is unlikely to forget.

Almost two years have passed but memories of police officers arriving at her door and seizing her partner’s computer equipment are unlikely to fade.

“It was a nightmare – definitely the worst day of my life,” the mum-of-three confesses. “It was 6.45am and I had to ask the police for permission to get dressed. They were lovely to us and I’d absolutely no idea what was going on.

“Neil and I had been together for six years and I never, ever thought he was into child pornography.

“People may think I’m naïve but I didn’t suspect what Neil was up to on his computer. He was studying for an Open University law degree so it didn’t occur to me that he had developed this addiction. It was a terrible shock.”

An addiction it was. Bournemouth Crown Court heard how more than 6,000 indecent images of children had been found by specialist police officers on Hiley’s computer.

Prosecutor Jason Spelman said Hiley, 48, from Christchurch Road, Boscombe, had later admitted having “a fetish for females from the age of seven”.

He pleaded guilty to 26 offences of making indecent photographs of children.

After confessing to police officers and his parents, who were also in court, Hiley had finally sought help to quell his “fixation” with indecent images of young girls.

Sentencing Hiley, Judge Christopher Harvey Clark QC told him: “People who download such images cause the makers to continue their filthy trade.

“In excess of 100 images involved sadistic sexual violence depicting girls aged eight, nine, 10 or 11. You have described your problem as a fetish. When it comes to light society, through a court, has to show its abhorrence.

“Now that your fetish is out in the open you can no longer retreat to your computer and think that what you are doing is a private matter. You will, in future, be a marked man.”

Hiley will have to sign on the sex offenders’ register and will not be permitted to be in the company of a child under 18, unless another adult is present.

After he was led away his former partner said: “I still love Neil and will stand by him; I don’t know what the future holds. Maybe we will get back together again one day.

“The main thing is that he gets help for his addiction and drink problem. My children are grown-up but I have young grandchildren; little girls who have visited us. I’ve never felt they were at any risk. If I had he would have been shown the door.

“I really believe this was a cry for help and Neil wanted to get caught. I don’t know how to turn on a computer but he is a very clever man who could have hidden his tracks.

“I’d hoped he would get a suspended sentence so he could receive treatment. I’m not making excuses for him but I genuinely believe he can’t help himself. Despite viewing these awful images I don’t think he is a danger to children because it’s all a fantasy. It’s his tormented little brain – real life doesn’t come into it.”

Woman had sex with 14-year-old boy while her boyfriend watched, say police

A woman who is already a registered Megan’s Law sex offender had sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old boy last Thursday, according to police.

Police responded to a disturbance on the 800 block of Walnut Street in Lansdale where the mother of a 14-year-old boy told the officers that 31-year-old Erica Dillon had sexual intercourse with her son, according to District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman.



Dillon and her live-in boyfriend, 26-year-old Antonio Morano, watched a pornographic video with the 14-year-old inside their residence and then Dillon had sex with the boy in the bedroom of the home while Morano watched, say police.

Dillon pleaded guilty to charges of indecent assault of a child under 13 and endangering the welfare of children on Feb. 26.

Because of the February guilty plea, she was already a registered Megan’s Law sex offender at the time of the April 15 incident, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.

Police arrested both Dillon and Morano the following day. Dillon was charged with statutory sexual assault, indecent sexual assault, corruption of minors and disorderly conduct. Morano was charged with displaying obscene sexual material to a minor, corruption of minors and disorderly conduct, says the district attorney’s office.

Both are being held at Montgomery County Correctional Facility,as they didn't post bail.

Oregon woman charged in death of 5-year-old girl

GRESHAM, Oregon (AP) - Police arrested a 23-year-old Gresham woman accused of killing her boyfriend's 5-year-old daughter.

Gresham police Sgt. Rick Wilson said Guadalupe Quintero was arrested Friday afternoon and lodged at the Multnomah County jail on a murder charge.

The victim, Oleander Labier, was found unconscious Tuesday morning and pronounced dead on arrival at a Portland hospital.

Wilson says an autopsy determined the girl died from homicidal violence.

Quintero lived with the girl and her father. Two other children living in the home have been placed into protective custody.

The investigation remains active and Wilson says there could be more arrests.
