No disrespect to these singers, but I've never heard of them. I thought at one time Elton John was high on Gerry's wish list; I guess Elton is otherwise engaged or has distanced himself from the McCanns (that is if he ever was involved in their support).

Perhaps Cliff was otherwise engaged

I notice the prayer vigil was described as a "small gathering" and was held at the village war memorial. They aren't getting the crowds they got the first few anniversaries. I guess the war memorial is probably the central meeting place in a small village, but I always think of war memorials as a place to stop and honour/remember the dead not a spot to offer support to the family of a "missing" daughter. Perhaps people were there to think of Madeleine, each in their own way.

I'm sure that two parents were there purely for the role reversal of the: 'Bank of Mum and Dad'.
